Can't wait for mower of these bargains

    • +4

This bargain is a cut above the rest?

      • +5

You'll have to do mulch better than that

  • Good deal. I just hope there is another one of these on whenever my petrol slugger dies. Can hardly wait.

  • Was looking at the Rotaks but eventually settled on a Sanli PowerMulch 400, couldn't justify spending an extra $250 or so for electric, and would've had to spend extra for the mulch plug on the Rotak too.

  • Since it's got Lithium-ion batteries those will need to be declared to the courier. I assume Amazon UK would take care of that.

    • The previous listings looks hit and miss with a few returns to Amazon before finally being delivered. Looks like the mower always get there in the end though.

  • How long is the power cord on this baby?

    • +1

its about 1m… and its on the battery charger :)

      • Wouldn't that power cord have a UK plug. Best get a UK to AU plug adaptor.

  • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68398 was cheaper here but can't see it in camelcamelcamel history?

It's because last time our dollar was doing a little better and the shipping to Aus has increased.

  • This doesn't look like a good idea to me.

The longest time I've ever got useful life out of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery is about three years. Apparently, that's very common:

"Aging is a concern with most lithium-ion batteries and many manufacturers remain silent about this issue. Some capacity deterioration is noticeable after one year, whether the battery is in use or not. The battery frequently fails after two or three years." http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/is_lithium_ion_th…

Note the bit "whether the battery is in use or not". So both the mower's battery and the spare battery will be dead in three years - even if you have never used the spare battery. And the three years starts from the date the battery was made, not from the date you purchase it.

So, this is a lawnmower with a life of maybe three years, unless you know somewhere you can buy replacement batteries for it. In three years, I'd cut the lawn maybe 30 times, so $540 works out to $19 per cut with this mower.

If there was a battery-powered mower which used easily-replaceable batteries, like lead-acid car batteries, I'd recommend that. Not this one, however.

    • probably all sounds true.
I haven't had such bad luck with batteries, if you're lucky you get 500-1000 charges off good lithium ion.
And if you treat it like a consumable, like petrol, oil, and then servicing, the replacment cost of a battery after a couple of years isn't so bad.
I needed a very light mower with no cord for a steep block.
      perfect for me :)

      • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to an earlier post there is a 1 metre power cord attached to the battery charger.

        • You do know it is a cordless lawn mower don't you?
How is it a bad news that a charger's cord is 1m long?!

I bought 43Li few months back, but after 3 attempts it was never delivered.
Never got the proper answer as to why - I am guessing there was an issue with Li battery, despite Amazon's assurances that all should be OK.
Ended up getting 34 Li about 3 months later.
    Absolutely love this mower.
Light, very easy to use, battery lasts long enough to cut my lawn 3-4 times.
Using a petrol mower was a chore, with this one I cut my lawn much more often as it is so much easier to use.
I imagine 43Li would be as good if not better, so highly recommended.
PS You do need an adapter as the plug is an UK version.
I bought an universal one from Jaycar for under $10.

seems to have dropped a little further…
    I just got mine for $495 posted…
I was about to make submit it as a deal, then I saw your thread here

    • Now I'm jealous, I see it as $497AUD in amazon.uk checkout so I updated the price to this.
Mine shipped the same day by UPS, in the past when I've bought things UPS were the only company able to reliably deliver lithium ion batteries.

  • anyone got theirs yet?
I ordered mine on boxing day… its eta is the 9th of january, but the tracking says its already in sydney!!
