Got this link from my friend.

If any one wanna get a free $50 cash in your saving account this X'mas. This is the time. No tricks.

Idea: Get a fee free saving account and make a $1.00 desposit and get $50.
Dunt use it as a main saving account, as they only offer 5% interest.

If you do wanna get a saving account, go sign up a saving account with Arab bank which current offering 7.2%.

        No. Not a problem at all. It might have problem competing with other deals though, as RaboPlus' interest rate is not really competitive at the moment.

    Who cares if they make money out of it. It seems like theres no way to join without a ref link. IMO its better rewarding the poster of the deal than letting the bank keep the $10!

    edit: It would have been better if they admitted it in the first post though.

    Is this bank safe or genuine ? How come it ask for your other bank BSB and account number to link up when you register to open an account ?

      online account generally uses another bank as "transaction" part of the account thus needing BSB and account number. the up side is that you get good interest rate and they keep their overheads low.
      online account has been around in Australia for many years now (at least 10 yrs when ING direct started back in the 90's)
      Rabo bank is one of the safest bank with AAA credit rating. But with Financial meltdown in 2008, the term safe bank almost took on a new meaning.
      The Australian Government has given blanket protection to all bank savings, including Rabo bank.
      I opened an account with them last year, and received the $50. I also received a security token that makes online bank safer (two factors authentication).
      Some of my co-workers in the office felt that $50 is not enough incentive for them to open an account. This is possible, given I received 2x US$25 amazon gift cards recently for doing short online surveys.

      did this last year around the same time for the whole family (tree) plus friends. processing time depends on if you send in your paperwork quickly or slowly. 100 points ID will apply as per usual. parents can open accounts for children. can also apply accounts for business, family trusts, sole traders etc. the ones that applied early last year got their $50 really quickly, the rest had to wait as the processing center received more and more applications.

    Yeah, I signed up last year too - the $50 took about two weeks to be deposited to my account after I opened it. Raboplus has a pretty cool security device you use to log in too ;)
