1% drop on Woolies and WISH compared to the last deal.

With every ShopBack deal you have to factor in the time spent chasing up your missing money.

    • It took an AFCA complaint to get mine. They should be allowed here - too many people being denied valid claims.

      • +1

        "Should not be allowed here?"
Do you mean AFCA had contacted ShopBack who then paid you? How long did the process take? May I ask if this was a big amount? Thanks.

        • +1

Yeah i meant should not! Took days once AFCA was involved. 60 bucks.

Notes in complaint showed they were reacting to AFCA complaint but was not communicated in the response.

      • +1

Thanks for mentioning that, I had no idea they participated in the AFCA scheme.

Cashrewards and topcashback didn't come up in the search but it's possible they could be registered under other business names.

        • Is it due to ShopBack Pay? Cashrewards and TopCashback don't have this.

Many Australian financial services licensees, Australian credit licensees, authorised credit representatives and superannuation trustees are required to be a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) under their licence conditions.

With every Cashback deal if you do it wrong, since all of them have the same issues whether it's SB, TCB or CR.

      • SB "customer service" (I use that term verrrrrrrry lightly) is notoriously bad. Second only to Superloop. CR aren't too bad in my experience and TCB are hit or miss. But CR and TCB tracking is generally pretty good in my experience, so no complaints there.

      • Lmao no. I did it all right. It tracked. It just tracks at wrong amounts. Do not have this issue with CR or TCB

      • Are you really going to tell me that literally every single person in this thread "did it wrong"?

    Not worth it for Wish.

    • Where is it cheaper/better?

  • Hippo, it says 5% bonus on woolies cards for StG above the westpac deal as well

    • +1

Isn't that all mentioned in the last sentence?

      • Iā€™m clearly blind I didnt see it there earlier

        • All good, I thought you might have discovered something else! šŸ˜

          • +1

@nismo: I discovered I should wake up properly before commenting :)

    • Will that make it 9% cashback or 8.8% cashback total?

      • it's 1% standard cashback + 5% bonus ?

        • Thanks. I misread.

ShopBack cannot be trusted and should be banned from this website.

    • -3

All cashback apps should be banned in that case as every single one has user reports of denied transactions or cashback not tracking.

Need to separate out personal vendetta from reality. And also treat cashback as a bonus that's nice to have not a God given right.

If a company (e.g. cashback) says "hey if you click through to this shop from our app or website and spend $X and have your VPN and adblocking stuff turned off then we will refund you Y% of the amount you spend" and you then take them up on that offer then you have a contract and they should honour it. It's not a right, it's a contractual obligation. And the huge number of reports of denied transactions and cashback suggests it's not a "personal vendetta" thing, and the fact it has been happening for years suggests its a featured part of a dodgy business model (rather than a glitch) to scam people out of contractually obligated discounts. I wonder if some of these refund discount companies get the discount from the shop anyway and just not pass it on in some small percentage of randomly selected transactions in order to pocket it for themselves.

        • then you have a contract and they should honour it.

Absolutely, and interestingly krunchymoses above noted that AFCA is an option for pursuing issues with SB.

          • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Thanks. An excellent suggestion I will keep in mind if they try to pull the ole transaction denial on me.

  • Not going there again. Bought 3 x $300 Woolworths gift cards in one transaction. Received the standard cash back for three and the bonus cashback for two. Pretty clear what happened but zero progress with customer service. Would have saved more buying through RAA like usual.

  • Can get 5% via VIC senior portal. No need to waste time on chasing BS SB.

  • Standard cb tracked as normal but bank bonus had to be manually added but at least they did it. Had to wait 14 days and 5 days after contacting them, it was added.
