What are shipping costs like for a slab of Dr Pepper? I have to sign up to check.

    • From memory it's just over 10 bucks for a slab (delivered to Sydney Metro at least), but $2 or so for each additional.

    • +2

Where abouts do you live? we can get 12x Dr Pepper (Melbourne) at any Reject Shop for $15…

Edit: it's probably still cheaper from them at $12 for 24 plus post

      • My reject shop is selling them for $1.5 per can. About $18 for 12 or $36 for 24. Shipping was ~$17 for Canberra and probably all other metro cities

    • Express Shipping is $15.29 for 2 slabs of Dr Pepper to Melbourne Metro…so $39.29 (after discount) for 48 cans

Equivalent at reject shop is $60 pickup

Strangely, regular shipping is slightly more expensive!

  • While I'm tempted to get some much loved Dr Pepper, $32 is just a bit too much for 24. Even though its still a heck of a lot cheaper then buying them anywhere in Adelaide. Decisions, Decisions

do it, same price for me as well. Got some Ultra Death sauce as well to go with this

    • Shipping scales well though, so just buy more!!

  • FYI my Reject Shop also sells $6 for Hershey's Kisses (caramel and regular sometimes) and $3 for 8x Reeces Peanut Butter Cups

Nice one OP, making us OzBargainers go fat as in the new year! :D

    • If they ship it by New Year, boy do they have fast shipping

      • It depends on how busy they are, I have had to wait about 2 weeks for them to post my item before Christmas.

  • delicious :D

  • Thanks OP

  • They don't do Pop Tarts :(

    • -1

Customs have banned bringing them in due to the high level of gelatin contained in the frosting.

      • I did read this in a few different places (re: banned for gelatin) and I'm not doubting it. I am however wondering how other shops manage to import them? Blockbuster video still sell pop-tarts, as do smaller international food stores and sweet shops. Even catch of the day/grocery run sells them from time to time (yes the frosting ones too).

        • +1

You can buy off-brand pop-tarts at woolworths, called "tasty pastries" (near up&go at my store). I've never had real pop tarts as they stopped selling them here quite a few years ago, but apparently these tasty pastries are quite similar. If I remember correctly, they have Apple cinnamon, strawberry and chocolate flavours. I've tried all 3 (couldn't resist, lol), and they're not bad but I wouldn't eat them on a regular basis - so much sugar!

        • +1

My theory may be big sellers such as USA foods would not be able to get them in as the sheer quantity that they where importing would set off quarantines alarm. Smaller shops could easily get away with it as they are not ordering lots. I was simply answering his questions as to why USA foods do not stock them, Not smaller companies.

      • +1

That story USA foods made up is utter rubbish. You can easily get pop tarts on other websites or your local confectionery store.

      • Yeah, that's not true. Almost any confectionery store in Australia sells them for about $10 a box, $12.50 for the slightly bigger sized boxes.

Twinkies are only 3 months out of date!

I wonder if buying American food after the best before date actually increases the nutritional content!

    • if you dont eat em, freeze em

      • +2

to the ignoramous that downvoted me..

        from the usafoods website

        Twinkies 24 Box 36oz
Golden Sponge Cake with a Creamy Filling.
Theses are Short Shelf Items and past Best by date. Freeze them if you're not going to eat them all!! Best by Date nov 21, 2012

        you're welcome :)

    • +1

Well, Hostess went under, so those Twinkies are probably the freshest on the planet. It's all downhill from here.

      • +1

Twinkees are still being made - in Canada! The rights were sold to another company years ago… Now we just need to wait for Canadian Foods, eh!

I live 3 hours away from the store, and they want to charge $56 in shipping alone for two slabs of Dr Pepper. I could get them shipped from the UK for not much more!

I have bought from these guys before too, and the shipping was closer to $20 for two slabs. I tried to contact them a while ago, and they said that is what shipping costs them now. Funny how I can get 25kg shipped from Melbourne to my office for a little over $10 - and I don't send anywhere near the amount of freight as they would.

Shame, because I would be a frequent purchaser of Dr Pepper from them.

    • Try the reject shop. Its lucky dip now days some stores have it some don't.

      • Thanks for the advice, but my local reject shop doesn't stock it. The warehouse were supposed to stock it a few months back - but a staff member told me that the manager took their whole supply himself cos he loves the stuff. Not happy Jan.

Funnily enough, I can order a one off delivery as a casual customer by a courier for 2 slabs for $16.00 from them to me, yet they want $34.00 for delivery as an account customer with a high volume of traffic.

Either they're ridiculously poor/lax negotiators, or there's some major postage profit padding going on there.

I'd likely have been a customer but every time I look at them, their ridiculously high postage charges turn me off.

Look at all the online wine deliverers, and a case of wine weighs a lot more and is bigger than a case of Dr Pepper. You'd be struggling to find a delivery charge over $10, and often enough they have promotions for free delivery.

Just been to the USA outlet in Moorabbin and picked 2 slabs for $30, nice!

    • +1

I was down there yesterday at the store, picked up 2 for $30 also! I got no need for the code due to living so close to the place.

wanted to order a few things from SWEET/SAVOURY snacks area, but everything i wanted has NOV or DEC 2012 best buy dates. At least they warn you.

  • The coupon code applied correctly and showed the discount prior to payment. But when I paid it showed that I had paid the full price! :-/ Did anyone else have this problem?

I bought 6 bottles of green Tabasco Sauce to stock up (I can't get enough of that stuff). Even at their full price (and the $8.50 it cost me for postage) it's still cheaper than buying from the shops here in Brisbane. Just a bit miffed that the coupon didn't work for me… I am an OzBargainer after all.

    • +1

If memory serves, they charge you when they ship and apply discounts then.

      • Thanks for the heads up. I'll check and report back when I get charged.

  • +2

Everything is so expensive and most of them are expired… I can't afford to pay $9 for a packet of chips. There's gotta be a cheaper alternative.

  • $6.99 for hot cheetos!! It was $.99 when I was young. I am so tempted though.
I'd definitely order if they had Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy.
Did they used to have nacho cheese available?

  • +2

I just went to order 4 slabs of Dr Pepper. (96 cans)
Price of the drinks was $56, Postage was $851 for express. ($146 for regular)
I think I'm gonna pass on this one. :)

    • +1

      Same deal here.

      NSW - Express Post – $532.22
      NSW - Regular Post – $94.12

They either have some problems with their shipping calculator or they're simply dreaming.

      • The shipping calculator is just a guide. They only charge you exactly what it costs them to post the items (which is usually a lot cheaper). Thats how they used to do it anyway, it's been awhile since I bought from them so things may have changed.

  • Was just at the store today, picked up 2 slabs of the Dr Pepper today for $30. Still 2 pallets of it left, so it is worth driving to get some if you are in the south east suburbs rather than paying delivery.

  • Don't forget Costco usually carries Dr Pepper and A & W root beer for $29.99 for 24 cans. Costco is in Sydney, Melbourne and Camberra with more opening soon.

  • speaking of Superbowl…Seahawks are going beastmode!!! have you seen their plays?? they are crazy!!

    • What are you on about?

      • lolwut?

        • The Superbowl on the Feb 3. The annual championship for NFL bro. It's almost coming to an end. Isn't that what the OP was referring to? "I will be stocking up on my American food ready for the Superbowl."

  • Has the code expired for anyone else? Even though it says Jan 31st…

  • God damn, are all their products expired or something?

  • I'm considering placing an order. Does anyone know if it is still working?

OP, could you please say how you came across this code? thanks

  • I placed an order last night. Saved over $50. About $35 of that was taken up by postage. Still, it's a great deal and I think their postage rates are fair. At least to WA.
