  • Good deal! however, I prefer the taste of Vital strength WPI+ and Ripped. Both of which are half price too now at Chemist Warehouse.

    • This comes out cheaper per gm

      • +3

Per gram protein or total product? This is 74% protein compared to VS WPI+ which is ~86% protein

    • can you please provide me a link? I can see the 1Kg ones are priced at $55 ish or so.. Bit expensive isn't it even after the 50% disc? or I could be looking at wrong product!

  • Ingredients- Protein Isolate, Cocoa (Processed with Alkali), Natural and Artificial Flavour, Salt, Lecithin, Cellulose Gum, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium.

Make sure it has Artificial Flavour.

    • Will the artificial flavour give me bigger gains?

      • No but who knows what kind of artificial is it.

      triggered vegans intensifies

    • Still have expensive wee but at least you get to enjoy the journey.

    • Does grass add extra protein?

      • +1

natural food source for cows, grain feed is very bad for the cow and also for you.

        • It's only bad for them if you switch them cold-turkey from grass to grain and continue with just grain. Smaller increments of grain (preferably oats) to supplement grass feeding is OK for them, but grain definitely shouldn't be their primary food source.

    • Companies can claim grass fed even if just a part of cows diet is grass. Need not be 100% grass fed, unless specified.

ah, you're one of those types of people

Best is Leanfit Naturals Whey Protein Powder Isolate - Vanilla 2kg at costco $70 instore clean protein. Consistently on sale for $55. Always buy like 5 packs for the year

  • +3

Decent deal, mind you it is close to $40 a kilo and 74% protein is not that high.

Amino Z tends to have a few deals throughout the year with significantly better value - lower price per kg and higher protein %, though it's often for those who wish to buy rather large quantities. And they haven't had a deal for a few months now.

    • I get the bulk nutrients Protein Matrix + which is also a better deal. I tried AminoZ and something about their processing, it got everywhere and was sticky. Only protein powder I've had that happen with, tasted fine though.

  • Thank you OP! Literally was looking to buy this a few days ago!
Vanilla soft serve is also on sale

  • +1

If anyone is wondering if this is better value than the $60 performance whey, I've calculated that the isolate has 19.8g of protein per $1, and the performance whey has 18.2g per $1 along with more fat/carbs. Keen to finally try out the isolate :)

Tried this once and it tasted so off I had to bin it. Does it actually taste decent compared to the regular ON Gold, or did I just get a dud? Also, what's the main difference between this and Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey?

    • +1

I've also had a similar experience with a chemist warehouse isolate tub. The quality didn't seem on par with the gold standard.

  • Bulk Nutrients and Amino Z offer a superior product, for better value. But thanks OP!

    • Do Bulk Nutrients do any deals?

      • Not that I'm aware of — just a small discount if you buy in larger quantities, and a points system.

  • Great deal but has artificial sweeteners, which we avoid.

    • Fair enough, is there any protein powder/bars that don't have these?

      • +1

Powders with no sweeteners — Bulk Nutrients Raw WPI, and Amino Z Raw WPI.

I add maple syrup, or honey, or frozen banana, or cocoa, for some flavour / sweetness.

If you're set on getting a flavoured protein, but worried about the digestive effects of artificial sweeteners / gums, then True Protein WPI is a good fit, but almost double the cost of the other proteins above.

  • Very regretable as CW has changed back to 99.98 price tag, making it less appealing.
