      • Thanks EC. Have updated post with that :)

In theory, yes, but unless you freeze your marinade first, it will just have a tendency to suck out of the bag when you're trying to vacuum seal it. For $5 (if they allow pick up) this is a bargain. It's probably among the better prices out there at the full (post included) price.

EDIT: Shipping for multiples is very reasonable - while it's $6.55 shipping for one, it's only $9.95 to my postcode for either 5 or 10

I've found this type of tool works well on coffee bags, if you have the ones with a ziplock seal.

    sous vide cooking :)

    • Would this be enough for it though? I'm sure you'd need a machine vacuum seal for it…

On the postage quote… that's weird. Might give them a call…

EDIT: Well just called, very prompt answer - said to ignore it and to go ahead and order.

  • I got free shipping just by checking the free shipping box. Woohoo!

Where is the free shipping box on the website?

  • Does anybody know a cheap place to get the bags from?

      • Curious, they don't seem to carry the 2 gallon jumbo one. :(
EDIT: And looks to me, that it's cheaper to just buy a whole bunch of starter packs, unless you REALLY want a particular size.
15 quart bags for 29.95 makes it nearly $2 a quart bag (not including shipping), and 12 gallon bags for 29.95 makes it nearly $2.50 a gallon bag. To get 3 of each, would be just under $13.50, and you don't get a pump either!

  • I think 2 for $16.55 delivered is a pretty good price. Not sure how many times you can re-use the bags before they stop sealing properly.

  • Just bought 4 and it was only $6.55 shipping.
Thanks very much for the heads up.

  • Does anyone know if you can use normal ziplock bags?
