That title was exhaustive!

Add your trade in details to get the $200 bonus credit.

At the cart page, there's a red 'Get offer' banner on the side of the page, that'll give $100 off (unique code expires 31 Mar 2025).

Get onto chat and request the $100 trade in bonus code.

Buy it from the Samsung Shop app to get additional 5% off, for first time purchasers.

Use Samsung Pay to get additional 10% off (not confirmed as I don't have a Samsung phone to test atm).

For this I chose the Samsung S25 Ultra 256GB variant.

My best guess at the final total cost:

  1. Cart price without additional discounts = $1,849.00
  2. Add trade-in ($5 min. value) for $200 off = $1,644.00
  3. Add cart page code $100 offer = $1,544.00
  4. Add chat $100 bonus trade-in code = $1,444.00
  5. Use Samsung Shop app 5% off first time purchase = $1,371.80
  6. (At this point your totals will vary due to trade in-value but let's go with $1 cracked screen trade in) = $1,375.60 (price corrected)
  7. Use Samsung Pay 10% off = $1,238.04 (price corrected)

If I've made any errors please then let me know in the comments!

UPDATE 2:20pm - Added screenshots and corrected some prices.

    • What innovation is left that hasn't already been added, with our current levels of technology?
(Yes, they removed the 3.5mm jacks, IR blasters, radio receivers and microSD slots and there are arguments that can be made for the return of each)

      What would you like added?

      • its called couRAGE

        • +2

The next leap of courage will be removing all but one camera. AI upscaling will mimic zoom. Internet connection required, but that's not a problem as we all live in the New York CBD.

    • +2

gone are the days where the queue is long and winding to get hold of the iphone 3GS or the IP4, or S3.

idk why you want to camp out overnight at the store to get a phone tho, that was the worst parts of those days lol

      • i think you're missing the point… whn there is a queue.. that means its worth the time lining up for it. when there isnt.. means no one gives a hoot. pretty much like how you are lining up for a good restaurant or a good movie..

unless you're one of those who just buys everything online and gets it delivered.

I mean i got no beef with people like that.. but there's just so much social interaction during the queue.. going with friends, family, enjoying the crowds's company, little events to make it worth your while.

    • This resonates. These days it's all "slightly better battery, slightly better camera, slightly better screen……SHIT TONNE of AI". Yawn.

  • I can see the red banner on my app. Put in your cart first, go to home (or other pages) and get back to the cart. It eventually popped out for me.

S25U 256GB with $15 trade-in value applied without extra $100 coupon from online chat shows $1,457.30 to me. No further 5% app + 10% Samsung Pay applied yet.

    • Not getting 5% plus 10% samsung payoff?

      • I just tried to put it on cart, no plan to buy it. Already bought 1 during the launch. :)

  • Isnt jbhifi cancelling telstra much better?

    • +1

Dont think that works any more. The super big voucher is no longer available, but not sure.

      • Trick still works, but currently there are no good offers

Not spending any money is frowned upon here?

        • +12

It's not how much you spend, it's how much you "save".

    • Its a shame 🫠

  • +2

Can confirm. Just purchased an S25, and applied all the discounts mentioned in the post.

Final Price came out to be $1123.5

    • How much was your trade in device?

      • Traded in a S21 ($130)

  • Anyone use the amex card via samsung pay?

    • +1

      Can't be used

  • +1

why is the 512gb cheaper than the 256gb? $2,049 for 512gb and $2,149 for 256gb

    • It changes when you select the size.

  • I got an s25 plus on the weekend and got a 15% off code from support. It did not stack with 5%and 10% using Samsung pay. No trade in though

    • +1

How much did you pay? Maybe share it here if it's better deal? :)

      • It isnt a better deal. I tried to use the 15% off code and it cancels all other codes. OP's method is cheaper.

  • So I'm wanting some opinions from people (yes I'm totally aware that I may get some unfavourable comments; please be kind)

I've got the S25; but I'm rather on the fence about the battery life- I'm tempted to go to the S25+ (I have favouritism for this over the S25 Ultra)- I bought the S25 due to price at the time.

So far my options are so:

    1. In the Samung shop, I have a S25+ I can buy for $1496.44 (yet to add it via Samsung Pay for additional percentage off); where if I sell my S25 through Mobile Guru for $840 (only out of pocket $600 approximately)

    2. Wait until S26+ for potential purchase next year

    • +2

Is it only the battery life that bothers you?

If you try and trade in your s25 next year you will lose another $250, but you will have access to the s26+ (and presumably a better deal).

I would wait for a mid year sale on the s25+ to cut your loss down.

I'd also suggest putting everything that doesn't need to run in the background into your list of 'deep sleeping' apps. Will save a lot of battery life.

      • Essentially yes- everything else I am super happy with in regards to the S25 base!

I'll keep an eye out for mid year sales or for S26+ next year- thank you for your thoughts!

    • +1

A significant difference between S25 and S25+ is the size, I suggest you try holding a bigger phone for a while and see if it suits you. Also, the battery life improvement won't be too significant, due to the bigger screen consuming more power. I have the S25 and in my opinion the battery life is great, it lasts me 10 hours if I use it indoors and 4 hours if I use it outdoors. I suggest just waiting for S26 and making your upgrade decision next year. Also, $1496 is not a great price for the S25+, at launch the S25+ was $800 (jb hi fi).

    • What does it have to do with this deal?

      • -2

Majority of the issues were caused by their trade in bonus, bonus value etc. deal compounded by their garbage service and policies.

        Again, wouldn't recommend at all.

    • +3

Didn't even know samsung does click and collect…

      • +1

I think it's at their "experience stores"

        • +1

Correct. George St in the Sydney CBD specifically.

  • Thanks OP. I was going to go to officeworks to price match the $1650 deal on ozbargain. Saved some money without going through the hassel of pricematching a shaddy website.

  • How to get the chat $100 bonus?

    • Go to online chat and tell them that you want to upgrade your device.

  • +1

Thanks OP, I got the S25 Ultra 512GB for $1409.04 with a $1 broken screen trade in.

I paid using my Amex via the Samsung Pay app and had the Samsung offer saved, will wait and see if that gets tracked as an added bonus.

    • Have you got the Amex cashback? Now Samsung must have blocked Amex via Samsung Pay as when tried to pay it said "This card isn't supported by Samsung Shop". Have tried what others have suggested switching cards & back, restart app/phone but still didn't work :(

      • Hi yes I did get the cashback from Amex 2 days after ordering

  • further $50 cash back for Amex offer (targetted)

  • What's the best way of not incurring the $60 no trade in penalty? I've registered a generic cracked watch for $1. Do you cancel the trade in on the Asurion portal when you get the device and pay the extra dollar back?

    • how did you get a seriel no for a generic watch?

      • +1

Any 8 numbers. It accepted. Not sure why this is being negged considering the well known JB Hi-fi trade in cancellation hack.

        • nice

  • +1

Will any cashback work for this if we have to use the app?

  • is Samsung Wallet the same as Samsung Pay?
i don't think there is anymore Samsung Pay; it is now Samsung Wallet I believe?

    • It worked for me under Samsung wallet

      • Thanks!

      • +1

the post above us saying that Samsung Pay does not accept AMEX whilst I could see Samsung Wallet accept AMEX, so might as well use Samsung Wallet and get that $100 additional off from American Express,no?

(EDIT: abort; it accepts it but on the check-out payment page, it says AMEX not supported. What a lousy design)

    Hey Guys,

    Awesome post op!
How are you all getting the option for cracked screen on the trade in page, I don’t get an option it automatically defaults to it being all functioning and then applies the trade in value.

    • +1

Once you checkout it has you verify the state of the trade-in, before payment details.

      • Thanks!

  • -1

Thanks OP, managed to get it down to $1136 for 512gb

    • What was your trade in value?

      • 370 for s22 ultra

        • Will you be actually sending your device or just for getting value, we can put s22 ? I have seen comments mentioned as people not sending any devive and just paying penalty of 30 AUD.

          • @ARD: If you don't send it in you pay a penalty of the trade in device value + the additional fee.
So if you select s22 and don't send it in then you're paying $370 + $60

  • Thanks, got it down to $950 with a S23 trade in.

    • How? I have s23 plus after trade in it is showing $1388

  • I just purchased an S24+ last night on the Samsung Store app for $1080. I'm thinking about cancelling and ordering this instead. Thoughts? Benefits? Etc.
Also how easy would it be to cancel the existing order? I used Latitude as the payment method.

    • If you didnt have something to trade in to buy your S24+, you wont have a trade in item for this to get the trade in bonus discounts either. You should get the $100 discount from the red Get offer banner though. May also lose the 5% app first purchase discount as you used that. I'm not sure if you can claim that again for cancelled orders.

      • Yeah it doesn't give me the option to cancel online so I'll have to call Samsung tomorrow and enquire if I can cancel. I'll also ask about if I would get the 5% first purchase back. If not, I guess I can just create another account or use someone else's that hasn't made a purchase before lol.

    • Were you able to return the device? If yes, what did you mention as reason for return n did you face any challenges?

      • +1

It was very easy. I spoke to someone on the live chat and they were able to cancel for me. There were no issues and/or challenges.

  • I personally think that Samsung phones are the cheapest when they are first launched.
    I preorded 1TB one, only $483.74,after trade-in s24u 1tb($840).
But I waited over a month (after I got the phone) for my samsung watch refund…..

    • +1

They fixed the refund hack though so unlikley to happen again for future presales.

  • Is Samsung pay same as Samsung wallet?

  • Thanks OP! time to replace my S23 with a broken 50MP main camera sensor (internally damaged from shock, will get a better case this time around :/)

    256GB model

    $1 trade-in apple watch (credit @CodeXD) = $200 trade-in bonus
    - $100 checkout bonus
    - $100 chat 'loyalty' bonus
    - 5% Shop app first purchase
    - 10% Samsung Pay
    - $107.92 worth of member points from my original S23 purchase
+ $139.50 2yr Samsung Care (who knows, might break this one too :/)

Total $1329.62 (inc. $60 no return fee)

    • Complete newbie around Samsung Trade-In here

Couldn't you "trade-in" your S23 rather than the $1 trade in apple watch for more credit?

I've got a S21 Ultra with a broken main camera sensor also and was thinking of "trading-in" for more credit.

      • +1

Broken camera will reduce the value. You will find out the value during checkout as it asked you questions about your trade in and change the value. Dont bother trying to say it isnt broken and sending them a broken item because Asurion will test and revalue anyway and wont refund you as much.

        • This is exactly my thought process. By taking the $1 apple watch route, I should only be charged the 'value' of the trade in ($1) + $60 admin fee. If i tried to trade in the S23 it'd cost me more. I am hoping i can get maybe $300 or there abouts on marketplace, or maybe eBay, for the S23.

          • @heef: It doesnt make much difference what you trade if you dont send it back as you dont get refunded the security charge so ends up back at $0 value whether you trade a $1 item or $300 item.
The difference will be the late/admin fee but if your phone is broken, it might still only get a $30 late fee. I cant remember what value it needs to be above to trigger the $60 fee. You do benefit a little more from the 10% and 5% discounts if you trade in a $1 item though.

            • @8azinga: Ah gotcha, kept seeing $30 and $60 thrown around but wasn't sure which was accurate.

    • How to use samsung pay?

      • Proceed all the way through checkout, it is an option. You won't miss it. I went into my settings and set samsung pay as my default, but that is probably not necessary.

    • How did you apply previous points?

      • Once you get through the checkout, it is a payment option. Above your cards etc.

  • Can anyone tell me about Samsung Finance? Samsung Wallet is a one-off payment, correct? Samsung Finance is a way to pay it off over time? TIA.

    • +1

Yep that's right. Keep in mind the 24, 36 month etc finance incurs a $11 monthly fee while you're paying it off.

      • I did a test with the fiance and it looks like there is no monthly fee on 12 & 24mth loan plus you still get the 10% off. I guess it's because its still Samsung pay?

        • I think they've changed the companies they use for finance. Why would you sue them ?

      • On a side note. If I was to sue Samsung finance, would I receive a normal tax invoice which shows the full amount of the phone?

        • You'll also be getting notice from Samsung lawyers too

          • @CodeXD: Sorry typo. I mean use not sue. I wanted to know about the full invoiced amount to claim the tax back through TRS

            • @BlitzR: You will get an invoice with the full amount. Was wondering why you'd sue them over that lol

  • Any recommendations for case and does anyone know if it comes pre installed with screen protector?

    • +1

      No pre installed screen protector

    • +1

Loved Spigen in the past, so I'm going back to a Liquid Air.

On my S23 right now I've got a Ringke Onyx. It's great, they just don't have as many resellers. The grippy sides are fantastic, not sticky, just tiny dots, like a non-abrasive grit.

Here's the bundle I bought off eBay with a screen protector (I've got the same one on my S23, very easy to apply.)

    • I've tried a LOT of cases over the years and what I now call peak case comes from a company called Caudabe - they haven't released the s25 series yet, but their "Sheath" line of cases is what I'll be getting. It's a weird textured TPU that's really grippy, but also very thin and has raised top and bottom edges to give about 1mm of clearance for the screen on a flat surface. It also doesn't get any fingerprints because of the texture. If you look after your devices and don't need a tough case it's the way to go. They also don't have any giant logos or branding.

I've tried a fair few of Spigen and they all have flaws, the liquid armor line gets slippery after a while and their plastics aren't that strong or the case itself is quite bulky for what it is. If you want looks over everything you could also try Carved which uses laser cut real wood and resin to make cases. Expensive though.

There is also The Dairy - sounds weird but they do lots of artsy designs, my wife has had a few of these.

      • Caudabe

Unfortunately they don't have cases for my Google Pixel :(

        The Diary

Perfect gift for my girlfriend, thank you!

    • pre installed with screen protector?

      Thankfully it doesn't.

  • I am facing payment issues. Tried various cards and browsers but always come with payment error. Anyone else facing same issue? Tried samsung customer care but no help.
    Thanks
