Bowden's stuff is really good. This reminds me that I need some more of their car wash

    Waxitcare products are the best.

I have this, tried waxitcare and never used this bowden again

    • Bowden's Own are decent off the shelf product but Waxit are probably Australia's best detail retailer. Lots of premium brands and a huge range. Can't go wrong with CarPro or Waxit very own Nv Car Care

    • This around $20 compares to Waxitcare around $40 delivered, Bowden's is good enough for my AMG 😉

Dont worry, they have non existence online chat

    • Work for me within 2min

This is what I call my girl when she’s in her Oscar The Grouch outfit.

    I’ll see myself out…

i've been content with the kmart equivalent - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/supreme-drying-towel-415277…

    • Yes it’s not bad, a little thinner than the big green, but almost as good.

      • Sell it to me. Why do I need a towel for my car when it can just air dry?

        • +12

If you really have to ask that then I don't think proper car care is for you.

            proper

            is your opinion.

@tenpercent: You're familiar with water stains right? Perhaps you live in an area where the water is very soft and doesn't leave stains. Others are not as lucky.

                That must be it.

Percentage of Polyester/polyamide? GSM? Weave? Country of origin China/Korean?
Important questions that use microfiber for detailing. Cheap towels end up pushing more water than absorbing.

I've got this and the Gyeon equivalent, and even though the big green works well, the Gyeon is sooo much better.

Thanks mate… Got this with another couple of items I needed… Ended up getting total cart price down from $144 to $88 with your code and the price beat.

    Much appreciated!

  • So is this a terrible item to use?

    • +1

      No?

At this price it is a fantastic deal. Have used one for years and love it. I quickly blow my car with my leaf blower after washing (to remove excess water) then use this together with Boss Gloss (to give it some shine, help with water removal and give the towel some wheels to not scratch the paint) and it comes up brilliant for the effort required. Used to do it with a chamois and would never go back to that -way more work for way less performance. Literally once over and it's bone dry with no streaks or water stains. Haven't tried the waxit products yet but this product has solved the drying issue for me so don't know how it can get better…

  • ATL is $19 I believe

Way overrated. Got mine cheaper when they first came out but never been that impressed. Gone right off Bowdens altogether.

    • Yeah first time I used mine it was shedding flecks of green cloth over the car. Never used it again.

      • +1

Bowden's Own definitely seems overrated, but the instructions for this literally tells you to wash before first use - I made the same mistake, and also ended up with green fluff over my car. After the initial wash though, I never had any issues.

        • +1

Interesting. I don't remember seeing any instructions but I could've missed them. I'll have to get it off the shelf and wash it.

          • @redpen: They were in small print on the item tag, I don't blame you for not seeing them tbh

  • I wonder how much it costs to make this

    • That will depend of country of origin. Korean microfiber is superior to Chinese. But there is some decent Chinese towels

Using BargainGrabber's method you can get this one for $28.87 https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bowdens-own-bowdens-own-…

      Thanks T. Bought one.

  • I also use one of these to dry the dog. Works well.

  • I think using 2 SCA waffle towels is around the same as 1 big green sucker.

  • $4 increase in price over 4 years. Flat inflation.

How does this compare to the Gyeon Silk Drying Towel?

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/gyeon-gyeon-silk-drying-…

    • +1

It's very poor, the only drying towel i've bought and had 0 success with. Gyeon silk is much better.

If you want a decent bowdens option the twisted pro sucker is worlds ahead of the green one.

      • Thanks, how much better is the Gyeon to the Bowden's twisted pro?

        • Twisted pro is thicker whilst gyeon is a larger towel. Personally I find the thicker twisted pro works a bit better than the gyeon silk but both will do a fine job.

  • Im getting 'The promo code entered has expired.'

  • Tried matching from Autobarn with a battery ($339 full price). Ordered for less than $200 with price match + code

  • This towel cannot be washed and dryed by the sunlight, or it cannot suck the water anymore.

Below towel is much cheaper and same function.

  • Hard to wash by hand

  • Got a price beat code and applied but won't stack with SUPERFAMILY. But makes everything from Bowden's suddenly 25% off. Guess they fixed it?
