THE ICONIC: 30% off Full Priced Items with $150 Min Spend (Brand Exclusions Apply) @ Origin Energy Rewards

361

This deal never seems to run out, they just extend it once it hits the expiry date. See: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/806935
Part of Origin Energy Rewards. Unique code for each person when you log in and go to the rewards tab. My Profile > Rewards and Offers. Each code can be used only once but there is no limit on the amount of codes you can generate. I don't know if I want to limit test it though.

Remember to combine with discounted gift cards to save even more. Cash backs probably won't work.

Sometimes there's a glitch where it says that your account isn't eligible for Origin Rewards, or there are just no rewards. Fortunately it seems to fix itself as well.

  • I've got 30% off full price items on selected brands. Is this what everyone is getting?

    • From the Origin website:

Get a 30% saving off full priced items when you spend $150 plus on selected brands.

      So, yes.

  • -2

30% of full priced items is so common at the Iconic.

When this promo happens, items get jacked up and when the promo ends items will be discounted again.

    • This promo has been going on for at least over a year now. I haven't seen any price jacking for anything I've wanted.

      • -3

Its 30% of full priced items. The full price itself is the jack.

Basically if an item already has a discount it is not eligible for this promo.

I have been watching several items and they alternate from having 30% discounted to public or go back to full priced items so it can use any other partners offers such as from CBA Yello etc.

I just want to highlight this so people dont get too excited with any 30% discounts of the full price that is often RRP and/or higher than what other places are selling.

Do you have any evidence of items getting jacked up in the price or prices being higher than RRP? I've genuinely not seen or experienced this with the iconic.

  • So excludes pretty much everything you want

    • +1

At the time it was the best deal you could get on R.M. Williams boots (30% off + gift cards). But the boots got Ozbargained and so they added it to the exceptions list. The best way to use it is on stuff that doesn't really go on sale, like popular shoes in the popular colours.

The Iconic are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with for warranty. Happy to shirk their obligations and make you go through the hoops with fair trading. Not worth the discount IMO.

    • -1

      Evidence? Examples?

      • I bought a fitbit off them, the battery failed within 12 months, after a convoluted process of having take videos of it not charging and general muck around, they offered me a $30 store credit with some BS excuse of why it wasn't warranty, forcing me to pursue through fair trading. In the end I approached google directly and they replaced it.

        • -2

You bought a fitbit from a clothing company?

          • +1

@solidice: I bought a Fitbit from the iconic. The iconic are not a clothing company, they're an online retailer.
Anything else I can clear up for you, or do you just want to get back to licking their boots?

  • Would be good for ON shoes. The discounts on those always seem minimal

  • Bloody rm Williams

  • Just brought a pair of nike airfoce 1, haven't seen much discount on this item.

  • I just checked the site and it looks like the deal is now over. I can’t see it under rewards anymore.

    • Still works for me

      • Ah it’s back now! I just checked and it’s there now. Thanks for letting me know!

  • Is it possible to stack promo here, pay w/ gC and combo with cashback?

  • Tried to use it on a brand that is not in the list (Salomon) but the code is not accepted. Anyone in similar situation?

  • Exclusion list not updated it seems
