The recent Catch deal ($9.72 for 6 delivered with OnePass) makes me think this is pricey!

    • +8

That was a good deal, just keep in mind that those were essentials which are smaller than these full size ones. Comment.

      • -1

Just checked the comments. Didn’t know that. The Essentials are similar in size to most other sponges we buy (Vileda etc.) so I think I’d still buy them again given the choice.

        • +2

          Maybe when MyDeal closes down.

  • Is it just me or already sold out?

    • must have just been me. back now

  • Looks to be also available at Coles, but without the 10% S&S discount

    • +1

      Yep, mentioned in the OP.

      • Oops, indeed it is. Thought I had read it properly but apparently not. Sorry!

  • How often do people replace these?

    • +2

I find the Scrub Mommy doesn't last as long. The pink "FlexTexture" side disintegrates after a couple of months, where the sponge side is fine.

      • Thanks for the reply

Thanks, got a scrub daddy and it'd be nice to have a sponge on one side.

      • +7

If they're not in the shape of a smily face, what's the point I ask.

        • The material is good, and durable. Compared to other scourer/sponges, these are great and similarly priced.
If you need a smiley face on your sponge scourer you may be out of luck.

        • Just draw one on

    • Who ? SpongeBob !

  • +1

    Is this non stick friendly?

  • +10

Note to self, don't joke with your partner that its cheaper than the scrub daddy because the female version is worth 75c in the $ compared to the daddy version. On the plus side the sofa isn't too bad on the back!

    • +1

equal pay for equal work so i guess the scrub mummy needs to be identical to the daddy.

    • You were calling out the systemic oppression women face in our patriarchal system. Using humour to highlight inequality is an age-old approach as it removes the threat to listeners while perpetuating social understanding of marginalisation. She should be so proud that her partner works to further the advancement of equal pay efforts!

I’m seeing these a lot lately and just wanted to know - why are they so popular? How are they better than other scrubbing things like it?

    • Not in my experience

    • Good marketing. I was gifted these as a house warming present. I actually prefer the smaller size of a Scotch Brite Scrub Sponge, which I also chuck in the dishwasher every now and then to clean.

    • They don't stink like a lot of other sponges do after a week

      • Because you don't wring them out , no wonder .

  • +1

    When will this sexism end!

    • Scrub, mommy.

    • +1

I think there is a Scrub Diddy version.

    • Why is scrub mummy described as a "scrubber" but sponge daddy isnt

      • Because men designed this , typical male chauvinism 💯

        • w0m0n to protest for the scrubbers, and then get the far right to counter protest for the divorced daddy spongers.

    • I was joking guys. You think men use scrub daddy? Haaaaaaaaaah

  • This or Scot?

  • Wouldn't the smiley face hole in the sponge affect the structural integrity of the foam, it's shitty if memorable design

    • +1

aesthetics over function thank you very much.

  • Yet another item that won't ship to regional SA… getting harder to justify Prime.

  • What's the difference between Scrub Mummy and Scrub daddy is this just market segmentation

    • Scrub Mommy features the same ergonomic shape as Scrub Daddy but in a dual sided design

So it's a scrubber + sponge, instead of just a sponge.

      • +1

What innovation, quite remarkable really. I guess it doesn't really matter theres no need to re-invent the wheel errr the sponge. The Scrub daddy guy is now a billionaire kudos to him .

    • mommy is a scrubber
      daddy is sponger

  • +1

How is this better than Scotch-Brite non scratch scrub sponges? A pack of 21 is like $15 at Costco, works out to 71 cents each.

    • +1

      It has face. : )

    • It's not, if it was any good Costco would stock it

      • Costco does have it, I didn't note the price.

        • Ah excuse me, I hadn't seen it so assumed my experience was universal.

  • Albeit quite impossible to stop using American product these days, I’d still avoid them as far as I can.

    • I too try and buy made in China where possible.

  • +2

    Mother's Day sorted!

    • your such a scrubber, mom!

  • Mummy > Daddy

    • scrubber > sponger

& not a biting commentary of 'of' relationships at all.

  • Are these the same as the ones that were at the Good price pharmacy for $2 ea

    • +1

They were the smaller 'Essentials', see here.

  • Not the scrub mommy but I think there was a 6 pack of scrub daddy for $20 at Aldi which works out to be just under $4 if I'm not mistaken for those who don't have prime and is looking for something similar

  • Was $2.99 at chemist warehouse a couple of weeks ago
