132

(From URL)

Get the care you deserve which is why mycar have teamed up with Linkt Rewards with a great offer – get $100 off your next Logbook Service which also comes with 12 months free roadside assistance.
Offer valid when you book online between 2nd - 16th April 2025, and complete your service before 30 April 2025. $100 off logbook servicing instore or via our mobile van service (where available).

(From me)
You may notice in the Linkt app that it says BYD is excluded, however I just tried booking and at the checkout page it was still showing the $100 discount. Maybe they'll call back and cancel the booking after the fact? I haven't actually booked as I don't need to service my BYD just yet but made this post because for previous $100 discounts it would not show on BYD bookings.

The T&C page on Mycar's actual website https://www.mycar.com.au/policies/transurban-terms-condition… does not have BYD under the "exceptions" section.

    • Just one comment (which is anyone could advise on would be great). AMEX offer for MyCar seems to say 'instore only' in the T&Cs. I was going to book and pay online, but then noticed that. Wondering if its just a mistake?

Has anyone booked online, paid with their AMEX at time of booking via website and got the $100 back?

fair point, did not know you needed to pay when booking service online… the option for 'pay in store' is removed when going via the Linkt link…. which is pretty stupid… and the payment page doesn't take Amex anyway :(

      • When will AM deal expaired?

      • Never mind, I would not pay 500 to Mycar just for the service my car

MYcar in Canberra Phillip always wants to replace your tyres…. :) If you go for a $100 service, they will charge you $1k to replace tyres and 'wheel align'.

    • Go the one in Braddon, its doesnt upsell (well not to me anyway)

      • Real slim shady

MOFOS only know about tyres and usually measure the tyres aggressively. For example, I measured mine at 4mm the other day using the tool and they said it's 1.4mm and tried to sell me 5 tyres LMAO!

They will often say things like your left sided tyres are bad etc etc so that you have replace all 4.

Also they had a piece of paper with 1.2mm etc written on it. I said could I have that and the little boy in the counter said no you can't as it's not part of the assessment. LMAO. Little man has something to hide.

Thanks man. I will try. or NOT.

    • same at Mycar Macquarie

      • any other suggestions around NSW that dont upsell?

  • Some of these guys are better than others (some a lot better).

South Melb are a disaster in my experience, Hartwell are really good.

One reason to avoid BYD is because they use MyCar for servicing and they are a completely useless mob

    • +1

Really? I take my BYD to the BYD Service Centre that's … run by BYD.

      • It’s actually run by Eagers. Neither EV Direct (the AUS distributor) nor BYD (the Chinese manufacturer) have a servicing presence in Australia.

        • Still not MyCar though, is it?

          • @justdigi: Correct, but it’s also not BYD as you’ve claimed.

      • -1

Not everyone lives near a BYD service centre mate. You know that. :P

But it's kinda fun to pretend that you don't though.

        • +1

That's not what he said though. He said that you should avoid BYD because they use MyCar for servicing. While you can take it to MyCar, and may have to depending on where you live, it's not true that it's the only place that service BYD.

          • @justdigi: true dat. Agreed. I think he has outdated information when BYD used to use MYcar.

It would have been fab if BYD could keep things consistent from the beginning also but they are well within their rights to palm off their dealer responsibilities to Eagers as they please.

Mycar website quotes me $291 and going through linkt quotes me $351. So not really a $100 discount.

$285 after discounts for a basic oil change of a Honda is absolutely ridiculous. Not a deal to be honest

    • -1

Yeah. You could probably pay Honda lawyers to charge their regular hourly rate and do the oil change and still be better off.

These mechanics seem to have an hourly rate of $800 per hour.

For a honda it takes 5 minutes for the oil change.

'Excluded vehicle brands include BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, MG, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, Tesla, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, McLaren.'

    🤬

    • Damn! I was just about to book in my 750S for a service. Oh well, at least they can do my Chiron 😏

  • When I tried to book online without the linkt deal, the service included an air filter change and when I added wheel alignments, it costed $89.

When going through the linkt deal, it seemed cheaper at first, but you have to add an air filter change for extra (about $65), and although WA costs the same, it only mentions ' front wheel' alignments.
Also, if you book through you can't get flybuys points.

So overall, I can't say this deal is actually a good deal.
