Free Year of OnePass with HCF Starter Extra ~$9.18/Fortnight (Must Not Have Held a HCF Policy in 6 Months Prior) @ HCF x Flybuys

920

Ok, this is a bit of a weird one that I have come across and I managed to pull off in line with the Terms and Conditions of the offer. However, this is at your own risk, as always, so be aware.

So I signed up for HCF’s Starter Extras cover — it’s only about $9.18 with fortnightly payments (State: Victoria, under 65 etc) just to get the free OnePass membership that’s worth $40. According to the T&Cs, any extras-only policy counts as an “eligible” one, so I’m good there. I also made sure to put in my Flybuys number during sign-up.

Now you just wait for the OnePass code, which should arrive by email from Flybuys within 10 days of the policy starting. Once you get it, redeem it for a full year of OnePass, and then just cancel the policy before the next payment’s due or within the 30-day cooling-off period. As long as you don’t make a claim, you should even get a refund.

So yeah — if you followed the rules, and if all goes to plan, you'll walk away with a free OnePass membership for next to nothing.

Of course, there is a chance they'll go and cancel the subscriptions of those who left HCF, but of course, this process should be entirely free, so there is no need to stress.

Enjoy!

These hack deals are my favourite deals.

The original bargain. This site died the day someone posted 30% off sheets at Myer.

Quickest way to be implicated in the great area of insurance fraud

      • +9

        Explain.

Cancelling a policy during a statutory cooling off period is not fraud.

      • +1

This isn't insurance fraud. Fraud against an insurance company at best.

Sounds like a lot of work for a potential $20 in savings (and if you’re considering $40, hand over your bargain badge). Also, the worst-case scenario is that HFC charges you $9.18 and cancels your OnePass subscription right away after you cancel your policy - so you end up paying $9.18 for nothing.

Given there are frequent $20 offers, I feel it's essentially $10.82 savings

      • Even if you can sign up, process code, cancel, etc…id be surprised if someone could do it in 30mins. $20/hr is pretty borderline value…

        • +2

Personally not gonna sign up a policy even if it cost a dollar

Ozbargainers run around for a 50 cent profit on boost cashbacks

  • I just moved to hcf about 2 months ago on a flybuys points deal and looks like they’re running another too for hospital and extras.

  • -8

Sorry, I'm not gonna do that

Thank you for letting us know

Somebody find a Kayo hack, please!

I myself thought of this when I saw the offer in flybuys, but was too ethical (read 'too pu$$y') to try it.

    Cheers for trying! and posting!

  • Good one @HamBoi69 👏

This sounds like cheating and abusing the system

One pass is $20 a year, not sure if this is worth it unpess you get like 12 weeks free like other or $600

    • right now one pass has a discounted deal going on which makes it $20 a year but original price is $40 im pretty sure. even then you are not incorrect im just adding info for the next person to read thats all.

    Praise be @HamBoi69 !

It has to be one of the worse hack of all time!

Just wondering who is benefitting onepass subscription?

    • +2

Me. I've bought so much stuff from Catch at incredibly good prices over the last 2 months that I've paid for my $20 OnePass subscription multiple times over.

      • Got a weird feeling you won't be buying stuff from Catch soon…

        • True story. But OnePass has already paid for itself for the rest of the year.

      • Couldn't be that many like you otherwise they'd still be in business ;-)

    • +1

If you are going to spend more than $1000 at bunnings/kmart/officeworks in a year you will make your money back

      • With 5x points on click and collect, you can make it up even faster!

Everyone claiming it's $20 for one pass is failing to account for the fact that is only the initial year, and if you're changing your membership accounts annually you're taking away some of the key perks of onepass like - 365day returns. Fine for your first few months maybe but not so much at the end….

Maybe it's just me but I rely on this heavily because I'm an impulsive purchase overspender, who used to have buyers remorse on speed dial. Now I can shop till I'm bursting, pay via Afterpay and I've got 7-12 days to return it before I even pay a cent! (most people would use a credit card, but not only am I not eligible to apply, but it's just a ticking time bomb of a debt I can't afford that becomes a lifelong monthly minimum payment that reduces my already short income 8 I jj=j n3

      • So sorry, you must have me mistaken for your sibling… Don't forget to let him know though, he might miss out riveting hammerings of one Caleb

    • you need help

      • Indeed I do, did you have something specific in mind?

    • +2

It actually doesn't surprise me you're not eligible for a credit card

      • -1

Oh it doesn't? Well thank goodness! Whatever your justification is, given there's 1 right and innumerable wrongs, you've absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

  • If you redeem it while you still have a few months left of the membership, does it just add 12 months to existing balance?

    • Seems like it automatically renews for another 10 months right after current one expires!
