  • 50% off, pretty good. Now all I need is a 3D region-free blu-ray player, and a 3D screen!

  • Australia is Region B for blurays..so I guess this might not work here..

    • If you get a blu-ray player that can switch regions it will work.

  • Is ps3 au version limited to region b also?

Be prepared to double dip, because this is not the extended cut. When James Cameron wants some more money he will release the Ultimate 3D Extended Cut.

I've double dipped on his movie already, not counting the theatrical release which I saw in 3D. I'm done with JC.

      I'm done with JC.

You say that as if he forced you to watch his movie in the cinemas and then buy it twice on DVD/bluray whatever. Hardly the directors fault if you chose to do that.

Having said that, I think we are entitled to be a bit cynical about the different versions of movies like this, and if you are a true fan, you're hardest hit because of course you'll buy the DVD/BluRay when it comes out, and then 6 months later the 3D version comes out, then another 6 months later, the extended version comes out…. etc

You don't think the movie studios deliberately plan it this way?

        • Cost me all of $7 a year or so ago for a dual layer BD-R….

When studios play dirty like this and doing exclusive deals with Panasonic for the 3D version (or try charge $60 for it - ala Transformers)they are then fair game for piracy IMO…

        • I'm not naive - I know movie studios are out to make money (lots of it) and they deliberately drip feed the public with different releases. And this is sort of my point - most people know this. We know that a huge budget epic is likely going to have at least two releases: Standard and extended. And then any other box set releases, director's cuts etc etc etc. Look at Bladerunner - aren't there like seven different cuts?

For example - I loved Les Miserables. I will buy it on bluray when it comes out even though I know there is very likely an extended version down the track. When/if that comes out, I will probably buy it again and give away/sell the original version.

So like I said, nobody forced lostn to buy the movie twice. I just think it is unreasonable for a person in his position to expect that there will be only two releases of the highest grossing film of all time. This is a movie that is going to be re-released and re-released for the next 100 years.
