Half price is the real RRP .

Yep works out at $9.50 kg
    I compare to
Jalna (non frozen) Greek yoghurt is currently
$8.30 per kg ( not on special)

    • If we put jalna (non frozen) in the freezer, will it be equivalent to Yo-Chi FroYo, taste and texture wise?

      • +2

Probably not this is a lot lighter, ice cream etc. sold by volume not weight they whip air into it. It melts to basically a much smaller volume.

      • +2

No normal yoghurt will freeze solid and the protein/water will separate as it thaws.

    • +1

Not sure if this is the right comparison. I don't think Greek Yoghurt (Jalan) is the same as Greek Style Yoghurt (Yo-Chi)

      • Jalna is pretty healthy not sure if would class Yo-Chi in the same way.

      • +1

Thought Jalna also recently changed their recipe and it's also Greek style yogurt now

        • Nothing added in the pot.
          Maybe no longer potset?

  • +1

Greek Style. Also credit to Coles for showing us two images of the front, but nothing of the back where the important nutritional information sits, nor adding those details to the product page. You would think with the amount of profits made, they would be able to splurge on providing nutritional info.

edit: on the other two products. Well done Coles.

    • Scummy Coles.

Made to feel like a criminal in the store, often no manned isles and now no nutritional information.

just tells you not many really care about nutritional information

  • How do they taste vs what you get in store? I heard there's quite a big difference

    • The original tastes pretty close, it's mainly the texture.
In store is your true froyo texture, like a soft serve whereas the coles tub is similar to a sorbet or frozen ice cream

Personally I think it’s a completely different product but it still tastes like yoghurt so I still love it!

I found this for nutritional breakdown:

    https://www.mynetdiary.com/food/calories-in-greek-style-froz…

Kinda surprised at how high the sugar content per 100 grams especially being labelled as Greek yoghurt. But also expected it as well given the name brand.

      • +1

what the (profanity) 20g++ of sugar is diabolical

        • Here is the actual packet.

        • +1

          Eh not really.

About the same as a lower sugar decent quality icecream.

Not as low as no sugar, gym style, or substitute style ice creams… But it doesn't have awful additives and tastes good.

It's a decent compromise for people on lower carb or low additive or no UPF diets.

  • +4

Dodgy since you can't find the nutrition, and the price is way too high. Avoid.

  • +5

There’s a reason why they hide the nutrition info: high in sugar and higher in fat than other frozen yoghurts. Tastes good though!

Here's the nutrition info for the natural https://imgur.com/a/63nvi18

  • maltodextrin in it? If so bad for you

    • It has no nutritional value and causes spike in blood sugar levels higher than table sugar

      • It might be digestion-resistant maltodextrin, where the chain is formed from oligosaccharides.
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltodextrin#Digestion-resista…
in which case it's a soluble fibre (good for you) and one that promotes probiotic health…

Normal rapid digestion maltodextrin provides as much 'nutritional value' as does glucose (which is essentially what it is, just a chain of glucose).
Just like glucose it's tricky for diabetics because of the rapid blood sugar changes it causes.

        • +1

Unlikely as digestion-resistant maltodextrin would be labelled as "resistant dextrin," "resistant maltodextrin," or "maltodextrin (dietary fiber)".

  • Yo-Chi surfers paradise!

  • you can buy it without wearing white fox attire and driving VW car

  • I thought printing nutritional information on your food product was a legal requirement.

    • The nutrition info is on the packaging of the product but not available on Yo-Chi's website.
Allergen Information is on the Yo-Chi's website.
