Have the B version. Phenomenal!!!!! And this price. Wow!

    • +4

Family member has the B version to replace an old 5.1 setup and it was while watching F1 on weekends that convinced another relative and myself to get the C version. For another friend it was while watching first season of Andor.

Hard to beat a sweet surround setup for this price.

      • +1

F1 on Kayo however is only stereo by the look of it. It must have simulated suround…

        • +1

Yes it is, but I have the 950A and haven’t even tried Atmos sources with it where I have it set up, and it still does a very convincing job with simulated surround from stereo sources. Overall though the newer models have fewer issues (predictably).

    • +1

I have the 930B and it began displaying a fault JUST outside of warranty - it constantly fluctuates volume on vocals or dialogue and there is no way to stop it.

I am currently arguing with Samsung - they offered me repair at my cost or a 15% off voucher (insulting), despite me raising the fact that a consumer guarantee under ACL should cover this. Its core function is failing and it's about 26 months old, with normal use.
They are pushing that it's out of 12 month warranty and unwilling to repair at no cost (or even to offer capped cost). I have lodged with WA Consumer Protection.

Disappointing Samsung apparently believe a sound bar setup failing in just over 2 years is acceptable quality.

      • +2

Did you purchase from Samsung? Would recommend contacting the retailer for them to review/escalate. - Malcolm

        • +1

I did purchase from Samsung directly online, hence going to them.

I have made my case and they have told me repair at my cost or a 15% off voucher is my "final offer for resolution", after 2 weeks of mediation. WA Consumer Protection is my only hope now. VERY disappointed.

  • +1

I have this. It's excellent and I'm kind of mad at the moment as I paid over $900 about a year ago. This is a steal.

    • +6

You’ve had over a year of enjoyment out of it though, that’s not bad really.

  • +2

Do not hesitate at this price! I got mine at about this price about 6months ago (used to work at HN and my old boss did me a favour).

    Great soundbar!

  • +1

Seems you can't have it delivered if you're not near a Retravision store, which excludes most of the country … bummer

    • Retravision is like permanently closed in most locations

  • +3

Jb link to price match for those that can’t get it delivered

    • JB wouldn't price match as it is on backorder on retraVision now :( Also means I can't purchase for $660 directly as no pickup or delivery options available - curses!

      • +5

The trick with JB price match is to say you live next to the local price match store (retravision), they match it, then you just set JB pickup or delivery to whichever store or location you want

      • +1

Depends on the staff. My staff allowed my price match with my post code that has nothing to do with RetraVision and doesn't even ship here.

  • +9

I love this soundbar, picked it up for $880 and absolutely no regrets, $660 is incredible. I did hours and hours of research and these were the shot.

If you don't have rear satellites, budget for some speaker stands, and you may want some cable covers.

Thankfully it's a fully wireless system aside from power, so the soundbar/sub should be fine where the television is, you'll need 2 power points available, the rears you also need 2 power points, and the above.

    • +1

Are the rear wireless too, just needing a power supply?

      • +2

Yeah rears and sub are power only

        • +2

They all communicate wirelessly with the soundbar, the soundbar then plugs into your TV (e-ARC, ARC, etc).

  • +1

would these pair well with a LG C4?

    • +3

      Yep. Can’t see why not.

  • +6

Bought to go with my 43" JVL TV

  • cant seem to purchase on back order

  • +1

No luck with price matching at JB-Hifi. Chat said out of stock, checked with manager and no luck. Best they can do is $840…

  • +2

Successfully price matched for $660.25 at both Goodguys and Harvey Norman (yuck) for those still looking - am Melbourne based and looks like RetraVision only have stock in like 2 random WA locations

    • Nice find @Scurry!

    • How.. in store?

    • Thanks for the tip. Tried this with JB HiFI chat and it almost worked… Unfortunately the Retravision store that had stock noted stock was 'Low' or 'Limited Availability' and JB can't price match on this basis.

    • Best I could get at Good Guys was ~$850. Harvey Norman would do $770. No one could do $660.25 for me unfortunately.

  • -1

    $695

    • +3

further 5% taken off at checkout for $660.25

  • +1

No pickup or delivery options available to me :(

    • Lookss like its ova

  • Bloody good price. I paid just under $750 for mine last year either Black Friday or just before, and was very happy with that price. You will need an enclosed room for the surround sound. It will be wasted in an open area.

  • Jb only matched advertised price of $695.

    • Yeah, same. Tried 3 times, 2 of them reject straightaway because its a clearance item with very limited stock and 1 of them nice enough to pricematch advertised price of $695. I guess its still better, as I can use JB GC to pay.

      • Cant get them to match due to low quantity unfotunately

  • Yeah same as well - only $695 - with 2 different chats. Bit disappointing. Plus - no stock local so have to deliver which is +$25

  • +1

    Great deal

  • Amazingly, my hometown and next nearest town are showing low stock available (never happens!) and I can use my RAC card to make it $627.24 but I already have the Q930C (paid slightly more than that for it about 18 months ago) so I'm torn between upgrading when the only added features are HDMI 2.1 support. But it's such a great deal I feel like it's wrong not to buy it!

Also stores are closed until Tuesday which likely explains why they still have stock because nobody can pick them up lol

  • +3

I successfully got price match on the $660.25 from JB hi-fi on the first chat. Plus their $30 for >$300 for final $630.25.
Nearest stock from Brisbane >100km though so had to pay extra $24.99 shipping.

    • Nice work mate! Did you have to do any trickery with your postcode?

      • +2

no trickery - sent a screenshot of the retravision cart before linking the page, and mentioned the additional ~$34 off only shows in the cart because that was store wide discount and not product specific. Can't get Retravision delivery at all to Brisbane so did think would be out of luck when they asked for post code, but they simply said yep stock is 100km away will have to ship.

    • +2

I can't understand JB - both chats they argued the advertised price is what they price match on and the 5% off was in their view an additional promotion similar to cashback, credit etc which they won't recognise. I explained the purchase price is the relevant factor of price matching with the end amount you have to pay to get it (which is why they include postage on price match when no local stock at competitor).

I tried logic with them and said if HN had a 10% storewide discount on a $700 item - does the price for price matching not become $630 and what all stores price match at - especially if JB price is $700?? The first chat person terminated the chat, the second was more communicative but in the end said hands are tied at $695 but then suggested to apply the $30 for >$300 and you get close enough.

I just couldn't be bothered to try with a 3rd chat rep. JB will be my last go to store for purchases after this - I've had much better past communication and price matching with HN in store/phone.

      • +1

From my experience having done this too many times to count, you'd better not arguing with the rep online or instore when asking for pricematch as they have never ever change their decision no matter how good your reasoning is. Arguing for pricematch is just a waste of energy that better to be spent on the next rep which might be nicer to you.

        • I think you are right and good advice - move on to the next rep is better use of time. Reading the comments, I think next time with online rep showing the checkout screen capture may help as well.

    • Is it possible to share the invoice and will they match with that invoice for us/me? Not sure though if this thing works!

        • Hi Mate, jb guy asking the order number to match the price. Is it something you can send privately to me @cbalsill

    • I can't put the $30 off coupon code, it says its already been used even though it hasnt(i checked with other normal checkout the code is working)

  • We're sorry!
The page you're looking for can't be found.

  • +1

Thank you OP, such a good find, so nearly impulse purchased

    OzBargain'd LoL

  • Is it possible to share the invoice who are able to price match and will they match with that invoice for us/me? Not sure though if this thing works!

  • JB PM'd for me but added on Delivery ($60 to melbourne) so $737 at checkout - $30 for perks. Don't know if i'll bite the bullet as i've got a sonos system at home but wanted to keep the options open

  • +1

The guy in the chat was a douche, the dude on phone was super cool and did the price match, based on MY location, not his.

    • Even though it was out of stock, he was able to price match?

  • Yes, he was super cool, from WA

    • What you shared ..like the screeshot of ozbargain page? Or what?

      • No, it was over the phone, the dude typed his WA postcode and it showed in stock, the guy on the chat was from VIC, and didn't honor the deal as it was OOS at his postcode I guess…

  • Successfully price matched at JB for $695, used 10% off gift cards, but forgot to add the $30 off on a $300 spend. It's Time to hand over my OZB card :(

    • Ouch! I'm trying to add the $30 off on a $300 but says code expired, maybe it don't work on price matched items…

      • Same for me.

      • +2

It should work because it’s been applied to the cart successfully, as per the comments above.. Check the comment by @cbalsill

    • From where you got 10% off gift card and also do we need to create new accoint for getting 30$ off? Have alreadt used my phone number

      • +1

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/902357

You can check this post for details on the gift card. The $30 coupon should be in your Perks registered email address. It was sent to all perks members a few days ago.

        • Thanks mate

  • +3

    From online chat:

We’re currently aware of an issue affecting the delivery of Perks coupons to some customers, and our team is actively working to get this resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you can proceed with placing your order.

Once you have placed your order, please reply to the email I will be sending you quoting the online order number so we can manually issue a $30 refund on your order.

  • I got JB to price match but now I can't order it to SA

  • Everyone - if you experience the SLIGHTEST issue within warranty period, I suggest you jump on it!

I ignored seemingly anomalous problems with my 930B within the warranty period, which became more regular over time and now Samsung are refusing to help me under the consumer guarantee (at 26 months old).

Samsung are clearly willing to argue that their products critically failing outside warranty is just fine, so buyer beware.

  • +1

Curious, how many that price matched with JB hifi actually got their order/picked up? Seems like their stock magically dwindled and disappeared. Seems a bit sus.

  • +2

I have a JB price match at $660.25 if anyone wants it? Expires tonight. PM me
I will comment on my comment once it has been allocated. Please check that you either a) can pickup or b) happy to pay delivery charge approx $25 from JB

  • No more.. anyone else got a price match?

  • +1

Got Jerry to Price match for $695 - Got a $100 Gift card for purchasing a couch with 60 Months Interest Free - So really only paid $595 which is Hardly Normal Deal !!!!

    • +1

Pretty sure the monthly fee you pay for that ‘60 months interest fee’ will eat up that $100 card you got…

  • I do have price match with Jb hifi but no stock available in Victoria for delivery or pickup :( missed the train

    • @ARD can you allocate it to me?

      • Hey mate it expired at 12 am.sorry just saw the message

      • Are you in nsw?

  • +1

Insane price. Great find OP. This is what the Q800D is going for.

  • Is 721 a good price now delivered?

  • Did anyone got pickup confirmation from JB yet?

    • I received a call the same day informing me that my order would not be ready for pick up for a few weeks. Now, I doubt that all the orders will be delivered.

  • +2

I just received mine today. I've owned Q990C but had to sell mine cause I'm moving interstate, I was a bit worried that Q930D would be a downgrade from Q990C. However, to my surprise my non-expert ears couldn't feel the difference in quality. They are both equally impressive.

Q990 might be better when you need high volume as it has higher power output, but I've personally never go beyond 13 out of 100 in volume. That is the max before my neighbours knocking on my door. Same with my Q930D, I only need to set the volume to 13 or less. For those who want to save some money, Q930 is a solid choice.
