60% off All Ralph Lauren Clothing at Myer Brisbane CBD

150

Just walked through Myer in Brisbane CBD. Not that I like the stuff, but 60% off ALL Ralph Lauren clothing seems like a good deal from a major department store. Seemed to have stacks of everything.

Anyone know if it is also at Sydney stores?

    • From what I understand the 60% off is an RL sale, applying to both RL stores and RL concessions in Myer and David Jones.

However per my note below the concessions don't seem to actually be taking 60% off. $119 polos being sold for $59.50 as of today.

  • Got to watch these department stores discounting on fashion brands. It's of a similar strategy to Harvey Norman. Increase price back to RRP, then offer discount. With the end result being a price very similar, sometimes dearer than previously marked.

Ralph Loren Polo shirts should be around $50.00, with the RRP around $100.00.

My opinion, the RRP on these products, just like most RRP are ridiculous and do not indicate in the slightest the actual value of the product.

I love polo's and have a few Ralph Loren ones, however you do have to watch the price fluctuation on these items, in order to truly determine if you're getting a bargain.

    • $119 RRP for the polo shirts.
      Making them $47.60 now

Can somebody upload a receipt please? Even a photo.

I paid $59.50 each but have price protection on my 28 degrees card so would love a receipt/photo.

      • I just had a read of the shopper's protection:
Shopper’s Protection insurance premiums are calculated each month at 0.5% of the monthly closing account balance of your 28 Degrees MasterCard. (For example, if your closing balance is $2,000, your Shopper’s Protection insurance premium for that month will be $10.)

So, can you pay off the monthly balance before it gets calculated so that way you don't get charged at all? In effect, ask them to enable protection but always make sure it's 0 balance by end of month?

        • +2

Yes. Make sure you pay it off before you receive the bill and there is no charge. I've been doing it for ages and I've made several successful price protection claims.

The only thing is you lose interest you could have earnt if the money was left sitting in the bank (or elsewhere). Because you are using that money to pay off your balance instead of earning an average of 4 weeks of interest.

For me, 4 weeks interest isn't that far off being the 0.5% charge they have anyway. But that's because I'm on a higher interest rate than many people will have.

        • dose it real work like website said it dose protection insurance? if i was buy a tv and then 6month i go down u get your money back.

        • If you mean price protection, then yes.

There are stricter requirements when applying for refunds with price drops over $200.

      • Why the neg? It's ozbargain.

I'd do the same for any other user if I was aware they needed it (I've taken photos in the past to upload with the bargains I post, this is not any harder)

If someone is walking by or makes a purchase, I'd love to recoup $23.80

      • I noticed the same, supposed to be 60% off but they're charging $59.50 for $119 RRP shirts.

This is both Myer and David Jones in Adelaide.

        • Exactly my point.

      • I got a polo for $47.60 yesterday after the 60% discount from RL store (not Myer/DJ). Happy to send you a photo of my receipt if you PM me your email address.

        • not able to pm u

Now less than 30% more expensive than the USA. WHAT A DEAL!

    • Where can you get polos for $38.50 in the US right now?

      • +5

Right now, they are on sale for $37.49 on their US website. :)

Selected models and not all stock. Also, you need to factor in shipping and you will need to use a forwarding agent as they will not ship to Australia.

        • Do they ship to Aus?

        • Lol, I was just responding to the question about whether one could get RL Polo's in the US for $38.50 at present. While it would not be cost effective to buy from the US site, it does highlight the differences in prices charged in the US vs Australia.

        • Yep.RL can be had very cheap in the US and they have much bigger range

  • I called a WA store, they checked and haven't heard of anything like this come through…

    • The classic and custom polos are at 60% off as I was there yesterday. The other stuff I don't think so. But sizes for normal colours are limited to S or XL onwards. Appears to be the same discount as in David Jones as well.

    • I was just at the Perth Myer store and they were marking down to 60% off.

      • Ta confirmed via phonecall to city Myer as well it's on.

I'm not sure if the deal is still on, but I actually saw this deal last Thursday, however it was only 50% off. I bought two Polo's. If it's 60% off i'll go back and buy another!

    • do you know if they have any socks or belts??

      • +2

I just went down to look and bought another polo for $47.60! And yes, they have socks and belts.. it's 60% off EVERYTHING Ralph Lauren Polo clothing.

Shame it was only 50% last week. Could've saved myself another $20 :(

        • Can you whack up a receipt by any chance? Even just take a photo of it on your phone then drop it onto postimage.org

          Edit: Thanks for pm!

  • It's on the Ralph Lauren Australia site - actually not the official site but still showing a discount

    http://www.ralphlaurenpoloshirtsonline.com.au/

    • Is that definately an official website?

      • No it's not, hence the comment that its not

    • +1

Is not this site Chinese fake polos?

      • This site screams fakes.
"All of our Products are from authorized channel, No Fake, No Copy."

The more I look at it the more I think you're right :)

Im going back to buy my polos from COTD for $1 each shipped, at least I know they're crap and are priced accordingly

  • Take those polo's for example, the outlet store at Birkenhead Point is selling those for $35.95. The entire store is having a 70% off sale (excludes kids clothing)…I think the other outlet store might be doing the same thing.

    • Depends on what state you live in. In WA, the outlet store only lasted for a short while and didn't carry much range in sizes. So it's a pretty good deal if you don't have access to outlet stores.

    • Are there any outlet stores in Melbourne?

  • bugger why did it have to be on a work day. that is a bloody good deal if its for all clothing mostly. the outlet stores never have any good stuff left and always the wrong sizes

    • Seems to be ongoing, should still be on tomorrow.

  • hope this goes on into the weekend that would be great:)

  • I spoke to the RL rep when I was in yesterday and she said that it would go for at least this week and probably into next week. She said they were clearing stock for new season items. Could've just been sals speak though.

    • was this for Myer/DJ or actual store? which city

  • Polo Ralph Lauren factory outlet at DFO Essendon has 70% off RRP for everything except children's clothing at the moment. Not sure when the sale will end.
