I bought a pair for my partner around 8 months ago. She uses them probably around 5 hrs a week, and already the stitching on both ear cups have come apart. Looking online, this seems to be a common issue.

yep its happened to me as well and i used it for over a year, the replacements are around $40 if you want BOSE ones but there are cheaper ones on aliexpress

    • It sucks that happens, get the Bose ones the ones on AliExpress are terrible and flake a lot quicker

I plan on getting them replaced for free, given that they are not even a year old. Definitely won't be buying Bose headphones again.

Seems to be a common occurence with headphones nowadays. Even my more premium headphones have the earpads fall apart every couple of years despite taking care of them.

    • Wow, that's really poor

My Audio Technica M50x did that. Replacement pads already doing it again after barely a year.

My 1st gen Sony MDR-1000x are faded, but still going strong. They look flaked, but nothing ever peeled - they just cracked after 8 years.

    • Not sure if helpful but still rocking the QC 35 ii
Got a set of Wicked Cushions replacement pads from ebay in June 2021 which are still going strong.

      I'd buy them again.

    • Happened to one of our 2 pairs as well. Was after 12 months but I rang Bose and they sent me a replacement set for free. Bose are pretty good customer service

Just on the earcups, I've had the original QC35s, now the NC700s, I've found both of these get 2-3 years from a set of cups, worn every day for 12 hours approximately.

I haven't got this headphone, yet, but it does seem like a significant upgrade on the NC700s, what I suggest is, use the case that comes with them, if you place the headphones down on rougher surfaces, that will wear them.

The replacements are very cheap, from my experience, and non-OEM models are fine, they're all over Amazon looks for this model's yeah a set by Tersely for example, I think I have them now on my NC700s, they're probably 2 years old and seem brand new still, but I look after them. YMMV.

  • This, Airpods Max USB-C, or Beats Studio Pro?

  • What ozbargainers opinion on Bose QuietComfort SC for $249 50% off ?

  • How are these for working out?

Also does the microphone work when wired. I have found a lot of BT interference at my work with the Airpod Max (lightning).

  • I've taken these over to the USA and they were amazing on the flight home. I was sat between two families, both had babies.

Currently use them at the Gym daily, no issues and they block out sound perfectly.

    Sound stage is phenomenal.

I've tried Heavys (too much base, had to adjust the EQ on every song), Bose (Too quiet), Sony (Noise cancelling wasn't great) and JBL (Poor quality imo) and preferred these better - for starters, they were actually loud.
