Saw this promo on a sign in my coffee shop https://imgur.com/a/dEmF6j6
It appears to be the same deal as last year https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/843241
Limited to the first 75,000 cards to save the offer

Referrer: 40,000 Reward Points
Referee gets 200,000 MR points. Referrer gets 150,000 MR points.
Had to do some chasing up last year.
Same here.
I discovered that some establishments will have 2 eftpos machines, registered under 2 names/ABN..etc.
If you’re lucky, and you tap on the machine under the business name and enrolled in the Amex program, you get the credit. If not, and your transaction goes through the other eftpos (which could be registered under a trust or a holding entity) then you have some chasing up to do.
Tip: keep all receipts till you receive the credit.
another tip: take photo of the restaurant and the AMEX promo sticker on their door
one more tip: ask the restaurant if they accept amex before ordering food
Not appearing on my card offers at the minute?
"In 2 days"
It seems a lot of readers tend to miss these timing tags. Perhaps we need to make it bigger, in red & have it flashing.
Maybe a lot of people think "in 2 days" means that the promotion starts in 2 days, not the offer appearing. Sometimes Amex does let you save offers in advance.
@jaygee: yeah great point. I also looked at mine to see if the offer was live already.
Although usually if I don't see the offer on the day of the deal and there's a "in X days" tag on the post I assume it just isn't live yet or I wasn't targeted.
Ditto
Platinum perks don't include reading comprehension apparently
thanks for your constructive comment!
If you've decided $1450pa on a charge card is worth it, maths is probably not your strong suit. So why would maybe a bot expect reading to be?
haha quite the general comment you make.
Let me remind you that alot of platinum card holders are high income earners… they don't earn high income for being sub-par….
Maybe let that sink in? :D
@Bargainitis: I'm not quite sure how serious I was. Maybe secretly my life-long ambition is to hold a Platinum charge card?
It has no international fees - which is handy and Amex is an easy way to take your credit rating to a new country.
@markathome: You will be very disappointed when realising this lifelong ambition, having thought there is no international transaction fee.
@Jstrrrr: This is crazy. I cannot believe this. It's really shaken my worldview. Apparently it is the US version that has no international transaction fees and the annual fee is lower there too!
@cheapskate101: Pretty sure that's all American Expresses. And frankly, banking regulations should force all cards to do it. I guess nobody knows their power or gas bill in advance but once or twice a year I get a surprise foreign transaction fee. Nowhere else in the economy do we tolerate such roll-of-the-dice charges.
($25 Cap Per Card)
In total per card, or per transaction, or per restaurant ???
Per card…. ya know, like it says.
yep they are tightasses now. only one claim per card this year. claimed multiple times last year on same card.
Are you sure it is only one claim per card, or a maximum of $25 claimed?
It is $25 cap per card. Can claim multiple times.
It is $25 cap per card
My wife's card which is supplementary on my account did not get this offer.
Spend $125 or less to get max statement credit. Otherwise split between 2 Amex card with separate accounts. Nowadays easy to spend over $125 even when eating with 2 ppl
Otherwise split between 2 Amex card with separate accounts
What about 2 cards on the same account?
Amex cards get different numbers, and different offers per card, even if on same account.
how to check participating restaurants?
good try but nothing there just couple of places and they boast 55000 places … is there a list of places?
is there a list of places?
Do you want all three ?
Go to participating venues and then explore map. Not sure what more you'd want.

@harper: And how good to people find this map function? Unless I'm doing something wrong, I have the AEDMO filter checked yet search results include many places that accept AMEX but are not AEDMO participants (e.g. the AEDMO icon is / is not displayed next to the listing results). Is this what others are finding?
A few years ago, IIRC, someone scraped the data and made it a Google Sheet. Made it much easier to filter, considering the UI of the map isn't great, and some places are marked incorrectly on the map. Don't remember where it was and it probably hasn't been updated.
You can now save the offer to your cards.
See you at Bennelong this weekend!
see you there
Offer is on my card, but not much of interest in SA.
Hey Jupiter and Bibliotheca in the city are on the list
It has books, yes
Thank you. I don't get to CBD much and live South of Adelaide.
I believe the offer is usable now - no start date on the T&C.
The offer is available now, but somehow the participating locations showing all the places accept amex, woolies included, not sure if they are correct or not.
You need to look for the ones with the little AEDMO logo. The filters suck
yeah, only zoom in to figure out what that logo means
BTW, Nearby Locations
works for it, but some of the name / address apparently to be fake.
Edit: Nearby Locations
is not showing all
2025 and Amex still sucks at filtering. Wow
The map is pretty bad. Even already filtered to list only for AEDMO, it showing chemists, supermarkets, auto stores, etc as well.
The map's definitely showing various (but not all) Woolworths and Coles stores with the AEDMO mark. Anyone willing to try and report back?
There doesn't seem to be many stores. Here are all I could find (with postcodes):
Coles Blacktown (2148), Coles Oran Park (2570), Coles Highpoint (3023), Coles Craigieburn (3064), Coles Plenty Valley (3082), Woolworths Glen (3150), Coles Casey Central (3977), Coles Birtinya (4575)
Some new ones have cropped up: Woolworths Airport West (3042), Coles Northland (3072), Coles Rundle Place (5000), Coles Secret Harbour (6173)
Anyone tried and got the cashback?
@dealsgrabber: I spent $1 at Coles Highpoint on 8 May. No credit received yet so I'd say the map's wrong.
Shopped at Coles Oran Park, NSW on 8/5/25, which is in the AEDMO list, but didn’t receive any email confirmation or cashback.
where does it actually say from 1 May?
Do you have the deal showup for you when log into Amex account?
yes but doesn't say starts 1 May
Only on my primary Platnium card. Nothing on the supplementary cards
Already in the account, saved.
is the filters section on the map messed up or anything that is showing up in the list qualifies? even the ones that dont have that mini AEDMO sign on the side but still appear in the filtered list?
how hard was it to get the filters right AMEX?
The filtering is broken.
Present on all my primary cards. None on the supps. Thx OP.
Wow the map is very unhelpful. It lists all Amex outlets on both the map and in the list, even if you filter by participants within this offer.
So you have to squint for the tiny tiny AEDMO banner on the list of places, rather than on the map. I only found a handful in my location, none of which I would use.
T&Cs says not valid when using third party processor. Does anyone know if the restaurant uses Square whether the offer activates/works?
Square should be fine going by last year's experience. They mean stuff like PayPal (or KrisPay or Afterpay, but neither accept Amex).
Their map is still unusable
any chance they sell gift cards in the restaurants?
Targeted? only showed up on my Essentials card, not Personal card
I think the map filtering does work. AEDMO places appear as larger blue pins whereas other AMEX accepting venues are small blue dots.
No its not that simple. With the filter ON, Reading Cinemas (near me) comes up with a big blue dot. BUT when you look at it in the list, the AEDMO label is not there, as it is for eligible places (see the tiny green highlighted label) on my image, here:
So either the map is wrong, or the list is wrong.
Either way, it's a cluster.
Look at Chirnside Park; there's a giant blue pin to the top right corner of the name which is an AEDMO participant. That's what zoltanc meant
Nope.
The Reading Cinema has the big blue pin BEFORE you click on it. I took the screen shot after clicking on the big blue pin for Reading Cinema so you could see the location name.
Hell, even the Woolworths here has the big blue pin.
@kerfuffle: I am simply responding to the claim that filtering works and your post stating I was wrong to counter that. Apology accepted.
Wow only 25 buck total for the month one claim? Previous years have allowed multiple claims. thats a shame theyve certainly become tightasses
Multiple claims are allowed e.g. spend $25 at one place, $50 at another, and $50 at another
Oh i must have misread that then. I read it as one claim per card? Thats what was noted by JV in an above comment also. Ive got stacks of places near me
Do you really trust anything JV says?
@kerfuffle: EDIT - ahh thats per claim for the cap.
absolutely not. but even the title states" one claim per card"?
AmEx Statement Credit: Get 20% Back at Participating Restaurants ($25 Cap Per Card) @ American
Do additional cardholders get their own $25 cap, or is the cap shared with the primary cardholder?
Supplementary cards are ineligible
Not showing up in my offers to save to card. Do you think the 75,000 allocation is exhausted?
I don't think it ever gets exhausted. What card do you have? It appeared on my two Amexes. I also participate in every AEDMO
Just got told by AMEX chat that enrolment is reached.
The offer is not showing up in my offers also. Can someone else confirm if they are seeing it or not?
Saw it yesterday and saved it to my two primary cards. What card do you have?
Explorer
At least we now have a data point to work on. I got the offer on my standard Elevate and standard Velocity Escape cards.
it was showup yesterday for me.
Can't see it on any of my cards either
I keep getting "Sorry. Offers are currently unavailable. Please try again later." when i go to save the offer. never had that error before with other offers.
Hopefully the credits will be automatically applied this year; had to do some chasing up last year.
For Sydneysiders going to Enmore and Factory Theatres, purchases at the bar in the last few years have qualified for this offer; will probably be the same this year
