NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card: 80,000 Flybuys Pts ($1,000 Spend in 60 Days) + 30,000 Flybuys Pts after 1 Year, $95 Annual Fee

130

Not a card I'll be going for (prefer to churn QFF cards), however some good value to be had on this with a small spending requirement:

  • Collect 80,000 (worth $400) bonus Flybuys points (converted from 80,000 NAB Rewards Points) when you spend $1,000 on everyday purchases in the first 60 days.
  • Receive an additional 30,000 (worth $150) bonus Flybuys points (converted from 30,000 NAB Rewards Points) when you keep your card open for over 12 months.
  • Enjoy a $100 reduction in annual card fee for the life of the card (currently $195 to $95).
  • Minimum credit limit $6,000

Offer eligibility criteria:

  • be a member of the Flybuys program.
  • be approved for a new NAB Rewards Platinum credit card.
  • provide your Flybuys membership number to NAB to enrol into auto redemption.

Total potential value (after 12 months): $550 points - $190 in fees = $360 (assuming the reduced fee stays at $95 in year 2).

This offer is not available to existing NAB Rewards Signature or NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card customers or customers who have had a NAB Rewards Signature or NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card within 18 months prior to applying for a new NAB Rewards Platinum Credit Card. Offer is not available when closing or transferring from another NAB credit card account or in conjunction with any other NAB credit card offer.

      18 months prior

      Fcukers

      • Sheesh, 18 months is a long time!

If Flybuys -> Velocity is your thing, pointhacks have an offer for 60,000 Velocity points converted from 120,000 NAB reward points for the same card.

    • What's 60K V points worth?

      • If you’re converting from flybuys, it would be 120K flybuys. If you bought the points I think it would be in the range of $1500.

  • Having to hold on to the card for 12+ months to receive all the points is a deal breaker.

I'd honestly just get the 80,000 and cancel, that's already $305 value and you can get the clock ticking on the 18 month exclusion period sooner.

      • good point, but this is a first card I've seen in which holding more than 12 months yield more rewards.

        • Need to pay the full amount of card fee to get more rewards

Any QFF recommendations at the moment?

  • Flybuys it's mean collect from coles and Big W only?

    • Big W is Everyday Rewards.

Flybuys points can be redeemed in many ways (see: https://experience.flybuys.com.au/rewards)

You can redeem 2000 points in-store for an instant $10 off your in-store shop at Coles, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market.

Velocity offer is better, 120k NAB points for the same spending and fee
pretty sure they just send you 120k NAB points so you can just transfer to flybuys instead

    • Annual fee reduction is first year only unlike this deal which is permanent

      • where is the annual fee reduction information, I tried to find it on their website but no clue on it? I think most likely just first year either.

    • yeah so I got this NAB Rewards Platinum thinking I would get flybuys but its just NAB rewards. Is that a problem? Best to switch out immediately?

  • got declined lmao

NAB is really killing the travel insurance on the card

    • Without looking at the details, not sure if "killing" here is negative or positive

      • +1

Negative, received their email regarding changes made to travel insurance and it was exclusions after exclusions. I plan to cancel my signature card once I get my points.

Don't forget the ridiculous increase in excess to $600 . Honestly there is 0 value in this insurance now.

  • Isnt the 80,000 velocity point bonus offer more valuable than the 110,000 flybuys?

  • how about the 120k qantas points offer. that seems to be really good
