Not the cheapest it's been but could potentially pricematch Officeworks

Is there an ANC air pods 4?
Thank you 😊
How much of a difference does that make?
would affect battery life but if you don’t see benefit then you may be better off saving the $
Just wanted to share my experience in case you're thinking about buying Apple products from Big W.
Back in April 2025, I bought a pair of Apple AirPods Pro 2 from Big W Plumpton as a birthday gift. When we opened the box after the Birthday dinner, the first thing we noticed was that the AirPods were already named “Antony’s AirPods Pro 2” when we connect it to the iPhone. There was some dirt inside the case, and it clearly showed signs of previous use. We were shocked—this wasn’t something I picked up from Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree, but from a major retailer like Big W.
We also realized the user guide was missing, and when we checked the serial numbers, things didn’t add up. The serial number on the box matched the one on the receipt, which I checked when I bought it (as well as the seal is intact). But the number inside the AirPods case didn’t match either of those. On top of that, when we checked the warranty through Apple, it showed that the product only had four months of coverage left, which suggested it had been activated well before I bought it.
It was late in the evening, and the only Big W store still open nearby was at Stanhope, so I drove there hoping to sort it out. Unfortunately, the staff told me the store manager had already left and advised me to return to Plumpton the next morning. So I did, first thing. But when I explained the situation, the manager said they couldn’t offer a return because the box had been opened. I asked how I was supposed to know the product was used if I didn’t open it. The manager said some customers choose to open items in-store to check them before purchasing—but this was a gift, and it’s not exactly normal to open the box inside the shop in that situation.
I suggested they check the CCTV footage from the day of purchase because it had taken a long time for me to complete the transaction. The manager reviewed the footage and said there was nothing unusual, and asked if I was accusing their staff of misconduct. She said the staff is just slow. Eventually, after over an hour of discussion, the manager agreed to a refund “as a gesture of goodwill” because she believed I was being honest. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any stock left to exchange the item. She offered for a refund.
Later that day, I went to the city and bought another pair of AirPods from Officeworks. This time, I opened the box inside the store, under their CCTV, and the pairing process with the iPhone was completely different—clearly a brand-new product, as it should be.
Sorry for the long post—I just wanted to lay out all the facts. In the end, while I did get my money back, the inconvenience and stress just weren’t worth the small price difference between Big W and buying directly from Apple. Honestly, I felt like I lost more than I gained. There was barely any customer protection throughout the process, and it left me really disappointed.
At the end of the day, it’s your call where you shop—but personally, I’ll think twice before buying something like this from Big W again for Apple products.
Yea I had same experience from big W. Item was clearly used because it was already paired, box was dirty but it wasn’t an item that came sealed.
With Big W not having a majorly attentive staffing (casting aspersions - I know) people buy a genuine product from Big W - it is not that hard to open the box without breaking the seal, then buy a Marketplace 'original' and then swap and return the dodgy ones to Big W.
You can choose to not believe my side of the story but that is exactly my experience. I got a either used Airpods Pro 4 or not a genuine one with 4 months left of warranty. The box is fully sealed with I got it from BigW.
No - I totally believe you - you got scammed and bought dodgy ones from Big W - I was not saying you returned - I have been offered 'genuine' Airpod Pro 2 - with JB Hi Fi receipt - pity for the seller I know people high up in both Apple and JB and could confirm they were not genuine. I reckon you bought what you thought was new stock - but Big W had just returned them to the shelf after someone else scammed Big W
At the end of the day, I still cannot understand how it can happen. It is a fraud from Apple factory? Is BigW selling refurbished Apple products or any other possible reason. I also disbelief what I am seeing when the gift was unboxed. How embarrassing to give someone a used or non genuine Apple Airpods as a gift.
Thanks! Bought one, price matched at Officeworks down to $175.75 while picking up the iPad 11" A16.
Note this is the non ANC version
