    These mobs are the worst

    • Straight up lied about work they had done during a service last time, and what will be the only time, I've used MyCar.

The $100 you save will be added to bs you don’t need

Exactly! Like regreasing your muffler bearings even though you paid extra last service for the sealed ceramic ones. What’s next, flushing the blinker fluid and rotating the horn?

  • Any recommended car servicing around south eastern? Thanks

  • My next logbook service is the 200,000 km one and I think that will cost in the $1900 sort of range so please check what the cost of your log book service would be normally to help make a more informed decision.

    • I dropped my car off this morning to do a 190,000 km service for ~$180 less $100. After the initial checkup I got a call about additional things they recommended so I ended up adding in:
      1. A wheel alignment ($89)
      2. Wiper blade replacement x 2 ($94)
      3. Degreaser $15
      4. Engine Wash $48

In retrospect the wiper blade replacement could have been done by myself more cheaply but when I was on the call I got the impression it was something more than just the wiper blade so I just quickly said yes as I was on a Teams call at the time.

      Total cost was ~$335

Just chiming in to also say to avoid. I was quoted $2000 of repairs.

Took it to Bridgestone. It was my tyres. I needed new tyres.

Jesus H. Christ… MyCar are one of the worst places you can take your car.

It just makes me wonder what corners are they cutting to get that factored in? There is either going to an insane “upsell” of bullshit you don’t need or things they are not going to do and will charge you for it, or they are just going to do the bare minimum, run it up on the hoist, change the oil and filter and park it outside.

    Avoid these rip off crooks.

If you ask for a basic oil change they refuse to stamp your log book even in the supplementary service section.

  • These idiots charged me $10 to top off my washer fluid - I didn’t even ask for them to do it. And it wasn’t even bone dry empty when I gave it to them.

Does anyone know what would happen if I refused to pay the $10? Like can I just say no

  • The fact I am not able to know what is really done to the car makes every service a nightmare to me, I really hate it

  • I agree… had pink slip done, they found faulty tire due to pot holes… they put the spare from the boot on to get through, but they didn't check air-pressure of spare. Also didn't tell me that alarm would go of as the spare has no sensor (didn't know that) and when I checked the tire (because I was worried about the alarm) I found also the tire was down to 20psi… assumed first the spare has a leak, but I put air in and no problems after.. they told me to give a quote replace damaged tire, but I was never contacted… first and last time for me.

  • While a good deal, my Nissan pathfinder for some reason not eligible

  • Some mycar service centres are definitely better than others. I'd never go to my local one, but there's one a couple of suburbs away that has incredible reviews on Google and everyone on the local Facebook group compliments. Been going there for years and they've always been great to me. Wouldn't change!
