Noticed this deal was up again

Bought this set previously from Peters of Kensington and very happy with it. This is the same price but includes delivery in metro for free. I also got a pop up $10 voucher but I didn’t read the conditions before it went away so might be even cheaper.

Some cashback options worth looking at too.

got this set in the last deal + the $10 off coupon worked on for the order for $169 delivered to Sunshine Coast. Great value.

    • +1

Do you have the 10$ off code?

      • Popped up on the screen - new user code I think but sorry cant recall what it was as was several months ago now

        • Doesn't pop for me, may I try from browser.

What is the steam tool? Does it go into the pot? It looks bigger though

          • @sqheaven: yea it fits one of the pots, plus fits others i have so seems like a common size etc

  • +10

    $669 RRP. Sure.

    • +18

Scanpan going to the Baccarat school of pricing.

    • It's probably closer to about $300 in value if you bought them separately on sale usually(they're regularly on sale). It's a pretty decent price. I've been slowly upgrading all my non stick over the last 18 months and have been keeping on eye on a lot of these prices

      • 16cm Saucepan ($50~)
      • 20cm/3L ($60~)
      • 24cm/5.2L Dutch Ovens ($90~)
      • 26cm Fry Pan ($60~)
      • Universal steamer ($40~)
  • +3

Is this actually worth it? I also feel the MSRP is inflated

    • Good price. These are similar to the old Scanpan Impact.

      • +5

I have the impact scan pan 10 piece set. Been using them for over 10 years and they are going strong. Partners have changed but the same pots remain . Best investment I made back in the day.

      • These ones are slightly better mostly due to the lack of rivets inside the pan itself. The impacts are a bit annoying from that.

    • +4

MSRP is 1000% inflated, but worth it at this price if you're after some new pots and pans.

    • +1

Yes they're high quality stainless pots.

Although it's possible to get it cheaper, I wouldn't hesitate if I needed them now.

      • How?
And by how much cheaper @plmko

  • +2

    Excellent quality. Buy without hesitation

    • +1

Might be a good basic set, but I don't think it's triply or multi/all clad, etc.

      • -1

Yes, you are right, "the Scanpan Commercial line of cookware is not "triply" in the way some other cookware, like HexClad, is known for its triple-ply construction. Scanpan Commercial cookware is made from 18/10 heavy-duty stainless steel. It is designed for professional home cooks and features an impact-bonded base for even heat distribution…"

      • Agreed. These cannot compare to All-clad or Fissler (the original range). Those brands are totally in a different league to the brands that started out with non-stick cookware. I’ve got a scanpan pot and it showed white spots and even yellow within a week of using which my Fissler never got.

        • +1

all clads will also be this price for a singular 26cm pan though. So you get what you pay for.

          • @ONEMariachi: It also does state that these are heavy duty, but the comment above about the spots may suggest otherwise.
I have always regarded these as good value and DO have a 10 year warranty…something you don't find in this price point.

            • @marcozmitch: I'm not overly sure what the above poster is talking about to be honest. I have a 32cm and 20cm version of these pans for at least a year now and see no such issues with it. Each one is used at least once a week.

          • @ONEMariachi: Ideally you'd want at least one really good stainless pan, I picked one up for $70 on a deal posted here.

I could care less if my pots were all clad or not.

            • +1

@TEER3X: yeah. I went a high end for 26cm main driver frying pan. These commercial pans are pretty good over all for lesser used pans.

I do pretty varied cooking though. So have a good Enameled Cast Iron dutch oven, good carbon steel wok and Cast iron pan as well.

  • +1

Good ones , brought em from the last deal with the same company , my feedback is that it would be better with a smaller pan plus another smaller saucepan to make it a complete set . I had to buy another smaller scanfan frypan to have a complete set for the kitchen .

    • agree too many pots not enough variety on the pans

  • Thanks OP grabbed a set

  • +1

too bad mrs insists on non stick told her they are bad she doesnt care

    • +7

Have movie night and watch “ dark waters”

    • +3

      Why not both?

While it would be ideal to avoid non-stick, we do have a non-stick saucepan and frypan for really messy dishes, and stainless steel for everything else.

Using a non-stick pot/pan for boiling pasta or blanching vegetables seems crazy.

      • I have a really good non stick wok and frypan.

However my saucepans are stainless steel.

    • It is a hard message to accept.
Just make sure that the non-stick ones are not scratched up, but no scratches does mean that it is 100 percent safe, but the possible harms are less.
I did buy this previously, but it is still non stick…

Because you were too late to the party, no reason to neg

  • +2

These pans are super heavy (good thing). The welds are honestly a bit uneven and ugly, but functional.
The only negative I can say is that on the sauce pan water can get into the handle if you use the dishwasher and then it will randomly drip out afterwards because the welds are not water tight. Pots don’t seem to suffer the same issue. These will outlast you

    • We had a decent set a couple of years ago and got rid of it for that reason. So frustrating. Have been keeping an eye out for scanpan as we want stainless, but if they suffer from this issue I'll hold off.

    • Thank you.

who will be cooking in the era of ubereats?

      username checks out

    • $20 extra for food to be delivered is a good idea…?

  • my go to is INOX - use in a lot of commercial kitchens

  • Oos??

  • I have a large fry pan that I got about 10 years ago now, I'm pretty sure it will out last me as it's built like a tank.

  • How would these compare to the IKEA Sensuell frypan? I bought one of these and have been really happy with it for the price, but don't know what I should buy for saucepans and other sized frypans, etc.

    • +1

This ikea pan is also amazing. Best purchase ever.

    • +1

I bought this, looks really well made but I think that it doesn't sit completely flush on my induction cooktop meant it didn't heat up very quickly.

Every other piece of induction cookware works fine on it.

      • Is it flush once heated up? They are made to be a little concave. Copied from the leaflet

The base is slightly concave when cold, but
expands to flatten out when heated. Always
leave the cookware to cool before cleaning it.
This allows the base to resume its shape and
helps prevent it from becoming uneven with
        use.

    • The ikea one has a riveted handle - the scanpan is spot welded.

    • 15 year warranty!
      Looks like an excellent purchase.
Note: "15 year guarantee. Read about the terms in the guarantee brochure."

  • Just confirming, sign up and recieve $20 next time you shop? Code sent via email? Cant get to apply now?

  • I do a lot of cooking and have had this set for a while….good value IMHO.
