We've found the older model fine to use, a few bugs and not amazing but overall pretty good especially with some later firmware fixes. As we're buying a second camera for a second baby, it's easier for us to use the same app for both cameras.

Just get a tapo for around $30-40 to save on baby tax.

Cry detection, mobile app, home assistant integration, RTSP stream, internal SD recording and more

    • Got a link for specific model example?

        TP-Link Tapo

C200/C210 small differences between these two models
        C211 is black
        C120 indoor/outdoor models with IP66

        • We use the c210 on a phone mount for our kid. Has worked perfectly and we get to monitor the camera using our phones, tablet and TV via multiple streams.

          • @CoreNex: Plenty of 3d printed mounts, I have tilt stands, clamp stands, adapters to 1/4" screw for tripods and cat ears!

        • What about impact of this?

How long is the continuous streaming of not on same network?

@bashar20: Never seen those prompts before

No issue with 24/7 steaming, monitoring with HA, VLC etc.

  • App is currently rated 1.9 stars on the Play Store, which accurately reflects my experience with our Cubo. Very buggy, unreliable and not value for money. Steer clear.

This is really surprising as we’ve really enjoyed our Cubo. It’s been pretty stable especially with latest update.

We’ve had no false alerts which others have mentioned - although we had the pad for breathing detection, which may be why we haven’t experienced these issues.

We haven’t signed up for cubo plus because it does everything we need it to. But agree it’s an absolute joke.

We’ve had good customer service when our cord died after travelling which was likely our fault.

  • We have used a cubo for about 3 years and it has moslty been ok, with the biggest gripes being around reconnecting if it does DC for any other reasons.

Funnily enough for our second we started using an old Eufy Spaceview we had before the cubo and never felt the feed to have a second cubo, but have been thinking of simpifying the setup and changing to tapo. The wife likes the convinience of seeing the cubo from anyway but having the little screen to carry around and not slam your phone battery is nice.
