    Laptops are cheaper than this?

But you have to carry around a laptop. This is fixed on desk.

Laptops can be cheaper, more expensive or even the same price.

What advantages does this have over say a train, which i could also afford?

        • You say you could afford a train…

But let’s talk logistics for a second. Are you planning to run it on rails? Because unless you’ve got a railway operator accreditation, track access agreements with ARTC or Metro, qualified staff certified under national safeworking rules, and a locomotive that’s passed safety, brake, and maintenance inspections — you’re not even leaving the paddock you found this rust-bucket in. And that’s assuming you’ve also got liability insurance that covers multi-tonne rolling stock hurtling through populated areas.

Or maybe you’re just planning to buy one and move it to your property? You'll need oversize transport permits, a heavy-haul contractor, escort vehicles, road closures, and a 200-tonne crane on standby. Most people can’t even afford to tow a boat, let alone move a rusted loco carcass. So before we compare PCs to public transport infrastructure, maybe walk me through how exactly you plan to own, store, maintain, or move this “train” you apparently can afford.

In short, it's much easier to pick this up locally.

get one of these, and vesa mount it to a decent screen

      • Yeah much better option if you do want an AIO

Also don’t need to deal with an incredible 91 PPI then 😂

      • vesa mount it to a decent screen

Then it falls over because I have no arm or stand. Those things only have Vesa on one side.

    24" 1080p display in 2025…

    • Oof, my eyes even just reading that.

Note: Zen 3 Architecture. The CPU model 7730U may look a lot like a Ryzen 7 7735U but there's some key differences, the older Barcelo gen uses DDR4 memory and has the much antiquated Vega 8 GPU (released in 2018)

The 7735U on the other hand has a Radeon 680m (2022) and DDR5 support. Something to consider if you are thinking of buying a machine for both work and play.

    • 7730U = 5825U with a new name

      • I hate AMD so much for that.

It’s almost a breach of consumer law in all honesty

  • How about an extra $50 for our OzBargain friends! Greet machine for a receptionist / front desk / home office!

Mini PC + monitor is the way to go. AIO, neh.

      • Pfffft, maybe if you like clutter and looking like your at an op-shop.

        • M.. micro PC on the back of a 27" with cable managed is neat.
