Hello fatness my old friend…
I’ve come to live with you again…
Is the habanero just in the sauce? Or the batter as well?
Pretty sure it's just the sauce.
I was told by a KFC worker, when I asked last month, that it's just the Wicked Wings batter, with the hot sauce.
I don't know if this is true though, ie. I have not asked at a 2nd KFC place yet.
Is it spicy? Like properly spicy? I or is habenero just a buzzword?
George likes his chicken spicy.
There’s a little bit of heat to it. Would eat again.
@Randolph Duke: Yeah I'd describe it as proper habanero heat, but mixed with honey to sweeten the hell out of it, because reasons.
Kinda, I wouldn’t say it’s proper hot, but it has a bit of spice to it.
Yep, they are fairly spicy, but the pieces are small. It's not like your regular pieces of chicken. More like small tenders.
I had it for lunch when it first came out and my chicken was drenched in the sauce. I can normally handle my spice but let's just say I had a "ring of fire" for the rest of the afternoon
It is proper spicy. I was sweating. And I thought I could take heat.
You shouldn’t do the mistake of scooping the extra sauce that is in the box when you eat.
Just the sauce that is on the chicken is more than enough.
It starts off sweet and then then heat starts. Don’t be fooled by the initial sweetness.
@wmxc: Agree, mine was drenched in the sauce and I made the mistake of scooping extra from the bottom off the box, next morning it was so hot going for a crap I actually considered pouring some milk over my ring to cool it down.
I had it 2 weeks ago, I've got a decent tolerance for hot sauces (habanero sauces are fairly common up to me, up to reaper based sauces) and this sauce at KFC, while not the hottest thing I've ever had, is the best tasting spicy condiment I've had in the "shopping centre fast food" tier for a long long time.
It's pretty decent for heat, it will leave you warm afterwards. I think I might have a higher than average tolerance for heat, I scooped up the rest of the sauce with my serving 🙂 Went back for more recently, finally a hot sauce from a fast food chain that actually has some heat, I loved it.
It reminiscent of buldak spicy sauce from the buldak Korean spicy instant noodles
Pretty spicy I'd compare them to Buldak or
Indian food max spicy but a tad less.Edit:
Just saw someone posted the same. He is right.White-boy spicy….
Just to confirm, this is just the standard hot & crispy pieces drizzled with a spicy sauce, right? Can't see KFC prepping and cooking up a whole different product.
Yep just the hot and crispy with sauce on top.
It’s crap. I have other habanero sauce, and the KFC one tastes like 1/1 the spiciness of the other ones
So it tastes the exact same spiciness?
Ambigous. It's either equal to one/all of other ones.
Maybe state that as a percentage (like your username)?
Username does not check out
Just the sauce - had 3 of them two nights ago. Took a bite into one and threw the rest.
Tasted like it was a wicked tender piece, but the sauce just made it soggy.
First time, last time
Yeah agree, this was trash. I love hot sauce but this wasn't it.
Sounds like it could do with 3-4 mins in the air fryer to crispen it up again.
Just the sauce. Had it before and it pretty spicy.
Habanero sauce is a bomb, it's designed to kill me slowly! I hope KFC replace this with Super Change sauce one day!
omg is this real life
Is it any good?
I liked it better than red rooster spicy and might be my fav out of all flavours in kfc.
Very sweet and mildly spicy. It's too sweet for my taste.
It's basically water, sugar, cornflour and a touch of habanero. Kind of like the Sauces sold around Father's Day in Target.
Yeah it's nice, will be smashing the ten pieces next week for sure.
Not hot (unless you're a 60 year old white man who then might bead a little sweat on the forehead), but gives a bit of zing and goes well with it
Not a 60yo white man here. It's quite spicy!
Yeah, I take back my comment.
Had it at launch and it wasn't that bad. Just had my 10 today with the missus and I was absolutely dead.
Not sure if it's cause they gave heaps more sauce or if the first was a dud batch!! Wowsers
just had it, its tastes like sweet chilli, except the chilli is a tiny bit spicier.
Can I ask for just the hot and crispy without the sauce? Makes it all soggy by the time I get home.
Anyone successfully asked for no sauce? Really can't see why they wouldn't oblige… otherwise deal a no-go for the kids.
Not very spicy, but the sauce has sweet smokiness to it. The issue is the chicken pieces are getting smaller and smaller…
OKC, KFC, UFC, Lakers in 5
Tried this last night.
For some reason it's quite sweet. Basically a candy chilli sauce. Pretty gross. This was the best thing I've had at KFC omg it's actually spicy, not sure how y'all are hating
I think because it is sweet like children's lollies
The spice is nothing to write home about. But it's the overall flavour that is off-putting.
Spicy doesn't instantly equal good.
Tried but didn’t like it.
Is it possible to request habanero sauce on the side or not at all?
Exactly can it just bit a dip?
No harm in asking haha
Maccas has small sauce containers that they can use for non-standard sauce such as big mac sauce or tartare sauce but I've never seen it for kfc.
I tried to order it separately to dip popcorn chicken into but was unsuccessful. No harm in trying though, you could nearly definitely get them to put it in a burger if you say please and make the Puss in Boots eyes
i found when you have a tiny amount of the sauce, its not hot at all, but when you get a good bit of it, the spice will hit in a min.
Do we need to specifically ask the counter people to smash on the sauce? It's my constant pet peeve that wicked wings are just not spicy, why cant it just be spicy as intended!!! Im hoping for more of a kick with these.
Do we need to specifically ask the counter people to smash on the sauce?
Its meant to get 2 pumps of sauce for 6 pieces, which is 35ml per pump. Maybe they're not doing it correctly since the 2 pumps is nearly drowning it
I'm pretty disappointed when it's only 2 pumps
I got this from Cessnock KFC last week and they drenched it with the sauce, definitely very spicy hot but good hot. Wasn't pleasant the next morning, arse was on fire and I said I would not have it again, but this deal is tempting me as it's been a week and I have recovered.
hows it compare to maccas netherflame
Nether flame sauce was way spicier
Is it anything better or spicier than the Steggles habanero chicken nibbles, the frozen one from the shops? That one is decent on heat. Don't judge me, I can't cook so I eat a lot of frozen food and fast food. lol
Just buy ABC chilli sauce from Coles/Woolworths. Thank me later ;-)
Thanks. I'm guessing I have to go with the Extra Hot one rather than the Original yes?
If you want more spicy. The original one is sweeter but still spicy (I prefer original).
In asian supermarkets, there are other chilli sauce brands that are even much more spicy 🥵
That stuff is god tier. Although i think it has a bit of MSG in it which probably helps.
wanted to try these, but not at regular price.
RIP toilet
They didn't have any and wouldn't let you order online however since I was already there I ordered a meal with it at full price. So screw you KFC. You and pizza hut are the only food chains I mainly eat at and that was some shady shit
They didn't have any and wouldn't let you order online
Would you rather they not have any and let you order online, then tell you they don't have any when you go to pick it up? lol It makes sense to not let people order items that are out of stock…?
Shut up and take my fat chicks
how are these compared to like Merrybrown? KFC always markets their spicy flavour as being super hot but they've all been mild to me
Definitely not spicy enough for me. I recommend anyone to use ABC chilli sauce for example (get it from Coles/Woolworths for example). There's an extra hot variant too.
oh look they doing its going be XYZ days again and online so if u order online for drop off you cant put it in ur cart coz KFC is retarded
you doing okay there buddy?
just spiting facts almost all their online app only deals are pick up only and now seems they going back picking random days for $10 deals.
Are you expecting to get 10 hot and crispy delivered for $10?
KFC deals are usually on a Tuesdays.
@CodeXD: No, I am expecting it to be allowed while ORDERING other stuff. But no, they made it pick up only
Or does it seem they stop understanding you can put it in the same bag as other thing/things you ordered for delivery?
@mobbie1996: You do know KFC have to pay a cut to be on delivery platform? They don't have dedicated KFC delivery person at the whim of your every request.
These are proper spicy if you get the full measure of sauce. IMO, they should offer the habanero sauce on wicked wings too :)
Can I place multiple orders?
There is a limit of 1 per transaction. This post is regarding the 13th of May.
Create multiple accounts now haha
I have multiple accounts but then I have to carry multiple phones to avoid SMS verification
Ah thats a shame, no esim functionality? dual sim?
For this particular deal 2 accounts (20 x hot and crispy) is more than enough lol
Is this that boneless chicken pieces or is it proper chicken pieces?
Boneless chicken pieces
ah thanks man. Pass.
wow 10 for 10 if they are the size that actually are.
feel like Habanero is just hot and crispy but with different sauce, the chicken feels like cooked the same way?
also id rather KFC have better pricing in general, than this once a while amazing deals…….
I'm going to be a sucker for this deal.
The spiciness to me is just right - I've had far hotter, but this works well and doesn't overrule the flavour. It's probably somewhere between Oporto's chilli sauce and Extremo sauce (but the taste is very different, as it's sweet and spicy). Certainly spicier (and nicer) than McDonalds 'hot honey'.
Basically, a thigh fillet is cut into 3 to 4 pieces and fried with flour and sauce. 10 pieces is 2-3 thigh fillets, approximately 250 grams of chicken thigh meat. It's still profitable for KFC even at $10. Full price is ridiculous.
Will they put the sauce in a separate container if I ask?
I got denied, but you should still give it a go. The worst they can say is "No, leave the store or I'm calling the police"
There is a limit of 1 per transaction.
It's actually max 3 boxes (30 pieces) per order.
Had KFC last night … guess AND TONIGHT.
