ALDI Mobile 365-Day Super Pack: Unlimited Standard Calls, SMS & MMS, 250GB Data $229 in-Store Only @ ALDI

280

I haven't seen the Aldi Mobile Super Packs appear for a long time. I found this in store (VIC) and bought one but I have not been able to find it in any historical catalogues so unable to link directly. Thought I'd alert ohters because I was not aware.

This price is not fantastic espically if you don't need that much data but my experience of these packs is once they end you can downgrade to a cheaper pack. The cheapest is $119 with 60GB. If you're downgrading the pack the data does not roll over. Data does roll over if selecting the same or higher pack.

For $213 you can get 290GB through Boost on the full Telstra network (Aldi is the wholesale Telstra network) through Shopback posted here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/904528

Also, $230 at lucky mobiles if not interested in cashback.

      • +3

Price beat at Office works brings it to 218.50 with free shipping

    • Better CB is now $50 with TopCashback. Costs $205 after cashback.

      • error showing for boost orders ;(

        • I really hate that this is such an ongoing issue and boost isn’t doing anything to fix it

    • Can you use these for recharge?

  • +1

Thanks for posting. Out of interest, because I'll be looking for one in the future - what's the expiry date for the SIM?

    • -1

As far as I know from previous purchases, there is no expiry date.

    • +3

On the back it says expires 31 December 2025

      • They also printed a separate recharge voucher code and that pne expires sometime in Jan 26, which makes it easier without having to go through the 'keep your number ' processes and activating the physical sim

  • +4

    $99 year long gone

    • +2

      It became the $119 option

      • yes but you could buy a $99 sim ,
        not a $229 sim

      • +1

When will the $119 Superpack become available? I barely use any data and if I stick with Boost I can see my yearly spend becoming $300 next year.

        • It hasn't been for years, you'd need to buy any super pack that's available and then downgrade to that plan when recharging

    • +1

True, but the $99 was originally for 15GB, slowly increasing over the years, and then replaced with the $119 plan for 60GB.

My first Super Pack cost $249 for a huge 42GB 😀

Not sure this deal is exciting given other options (primarily Boost).

  • It is only 4g right?

    • +1

Yeah seems 4g only. But with everything capped at 100 or 150 mbps it won’t make much of a difference. If anything it will save your battery.

  • This deal it’s actually pretty good if you want to keep ongoing Telstra and not changing all the time. Just over $19 for over 20gb. I wonder how many shops have these?

I have noticed that online it says you can change to this plan. Does anyone know if you could get a $5 and change to this? https://www.aldimobile.com.au/products/229-super-pack

    • +1

Good point, I want to know as well but I will switch to $119 plan if it works.

      • You need to be on a super pack, and you have the ability to switch between super pack plans when recharging @fozzie

        • Thanks. That would be hard to get one then.

  • in my local ive seen these packs, its only what stores have got left as they phasing it out

    • Is this a permanent thing?

      • once your on the pack you can renew at the price been like that for two years

        • Yep. Are they stopping the sale of packs for new customers?

          • @Techie4066: nope you just have to find them

            • @SpeedAU: I'm aware, do you know if they're not making them anymore after this? Just wondering what you mean by "phasing it out". Or is this just the end of the latest special buy they ran.

              • @Techie4066: see here https://www.aldimobile.com.au/products/229-super-pack its not available to customers online only if you find a pack in store.

                • @SpeedAU: Thanks. This is the usual thing they do, sell it online as well as stock it in-store (which have some leftover). One of the plans will be back in future.

                  • @Techie4066: No, they done sell to new customers online.
You have to be on one of these and ththen be able to recharge online.
So finding these physical pack in store is required first.

I couldnt find an any when my kid got their phone so ended up using their PAYG which was expensive, but taught them to limit phone use.
I picked one up the other day, and they provided also a recharge voucher code. So that means when my kids credit run out, i can recharge using this.

These packs are great, been on the $99 (now $119) one for ages and built up a significant data credit.

I am thinking of bailing soon for Boost as Aldi doesn’t support eSIM and doesn’t look like they will anytime soon.

    • Just a quick question for my education. How do we build up data credit being on fixed cost per year plan . Many THanks

      • +1

Data allowance doesn’t expire if you maintain the current plan or go up a plan.

        • +1

          Thanks Grok

  • Is it possible to port in existing number?

    • Yes

      • Thanks got 1

  • Can this be used for roaming overseas?

    • No, only locally (AU)

  • Hi, has any one spotted this in Victoria? I've been to a few and can't find it. Thanks.

  • I managed to find a few at my local ALDI a few weeks ago
Last week I returned to ask if there were any more?
Staff advised no more and mentioned that they (stores) received a task from the headnachos that any remaining superpacks need to be removed from the shelves as the promo ended the month prior.

  • I just found plenty of this $229 super pack today at ALDI Box Hill South on their simcard & giftcard shelf. Didn't think of taking photos as I was searching for $119 pack only.
