    Don'tcha hate that?

Hopefully they'll bring down the price of the AMS v1 now the V2 is available.

      it's a hard one for sure…
The combo is $200 more, but is it really worth $200 for the internal heater?

Googling about shows you can bodge a heater / dryer in to the AMS1 yourself for quite cheap!

    • +1

even if the v2 is more expensive, i thought the v2 was more worthwhile since the upgrades were what the v1 were lacking? i.e. the filament guides, filament dryer etc

Looking to be corrected if wrong because I want an AMS and v1 is still more affordable (relatively).

        You're totally correct,
        BUT…
at the end of the day, it's a $220 premium to get the AMS2 in a P1S combo….

Figured I'd just go AMS1, let the market figure out any bugs / issues with the AMS2, then buy an AMS2 at some point in the future if I really need an extra one

Got the voucher, does not work for A1 mini. Works for A1. Still a good deal. Upvoted

    • it's only for A1, P1P & P1S as per their landing page.

$85 off the A1 Mini would be a crazy deal

Thanks! I guess I will get a 3d printer and start this hobby! I will be printing a lot of RuneScape things.

  • Also these ones…….

    A1 $414,
    P1P $664,
    P1S $814 + Delivery (typcailly about $50)

    Pricing table excluding shipping.

    Model RRP With Code (-$85)
    A1 $639 $554
    A1 w/ AMS Lite $749 $664
    P1P $749 $664
    P1S $899 $814

nice pricing, but there has been an influx of models come out that are very competitive.

If you need to buy filament for your new printer, pick up some Jayo/Sunlu from this deal

    • Got 20 rolls of Jayo from that deal, good savings. My go-to is usually Siddament but this was great for stocking up.

they're good printers - but have definitely left a sour taste with all their firmware shenanigans at the start of the year, so will steer clear

    • +1

It was overhyped I feel, stick to LAN mode if you want it offline

      • +1

maybe… but just principle/precedent/vibe was off.. all of your prints going to the mothership without really informing you, locking you in to updates that locks you deeper into their ecosystem etc.. who knows what was coming next.

if it weren't for people grabbing torches & pitchforks, there wouldn't even be a LAN mode

        • Ah yes, no informing of people at all, nobody knows about it

      • what do i lose if i use LAN mode?

    • +1

I just made the move over to bambu studio today. i was really vocal about it to start with but it was all blown out of proportion and i do see the need for there own firmware to be locked seeing they sell a laser combo now.

  • if you're interested in a Bambu/3d printer, more discussion on this deal

wtf same price……elagoo is doing better at the moment ithink.
TBH, i feel like dual head is the way to go, at least for med to high tier printers. So i would only buy A1 series if you do need 1, and wait for something good like X2C or whatever with 2 heads.

    • yeah, dual hot end really looks like the future!,
I'd love to have a H2D closer to retirement though as that really does look like a 'business' machine…

still, happy with my Resin Saturn 4 Ultra and this P1S now, will grow things orgainically and see what happens

      • i feel like in a commercial setting, you want one machine only do one job. H2D is like for pro-sumer but with tight space…….doesnt make sense to me….

yeah the P1S ages like fine wine..

    • OK, this isn't a "med to high tier printer" - it might be a medium, but that's about it, so a completely invalid comparison. People buying this are (almost certainly) not buying a dual-extruder printer at the price point it will exist at. They're not even buying an H2D.

      • yeah true, especially nowadays printers can cost $$$ easily. but i was referring to new comers who thinks dropping 1 grand on your first machine, they would expect "high tier" out comes. i guess the P1S is just a very nice machine, but basic.
