• Amazon.com.au Gift Cards are subject to the Amazon.com.au Gift Card Terms and Conditions.
• For Qualifying Purchases, a promotional credit of $5 will be automatically applied to the Amazon.com.au account that was used to make the Qualifying Purchase within two (2) business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or within two (2) business days after your order is completed (for electronic gift cards). An email notification will be sent to the primary email address associated with the Amazon.com.au account used to make the Qualifying Purchase within two (2) business days of the Qualifying Purchase being shipped or completed (as applicable) to confirm that the promotional code has been applied to the relevant account.
• You must use the $5 promotional credit by 11:59PM (AEDT) on 31 March 2026.
• This Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
• Delivery fees, taxes, shipping and handling, and gift wrap charges, if applicable, do not apply when determining the minimum purchase amount.
• If you remove Qualifying Purchases from your shopping cart, so that the combined purchase value of the remaining purchases at checkout falls below $200, this Offer will cease to apply.
• If you cancel part of your order for Qualifying Purchases, so that the combined purchase value of the remaining purchases falls below $200, this Offer will cease to apply.
• If you return a Qualifying Purchase, so that the combined purchase value of the purchases you retain falls below $200, Amazon reserves the right to:
• remove any unused promotional credit you received as part of the Offer from your account without further notice; and
• charge you (using the payment method you used for the original order and without further notice) for the promotional credit you received as part of the Offer which you have used.
• This promotional credit can be used towards a future purchase of “eligible items” shipped and sold by Amazon AU and will be automatically applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s). “Eligible items” excludes products sold by third party sellers including Amazon US (Amazon Global Store) and Amazon UK even if fulfilled by Amazon AU, digital purchases such as e-books, products that are not in new condition such as renewed products, subscriptions such as Prime Video and Audible, any gift cards and postage or delivery rates.
• The promotional credit can be used across multiple purchases of eligible items until it is exhausted.
• The promotional credit will be allocated proportionally among all eligible items in your order.
• This Offer and the promotional credit cannot be used on existing orders.
• Amazon AU’s standard delivery rates and policies apply to any purchase made pursuant to this Offer.
• If you use Amazon’s 1-Click ordering method, any promotional credit will not apply to your order.
• The promotional credit is not transferable and may not be resold, redeemed for cash or applied toward the purchase of any gift cards sold at Amazon.com.au.
• If you return any item purchased using the promotional credit, Amazon AU will only refund the price actually paid for the item (that is, less the value of the promotional credit) and the promotional credit will be invalidated and cannot be refunded or re-used.
• If you violate any of these terms, this Offer will be invalid.

  • The $5 credit is for $200 purchase

    • yes have already updated. thanks

  • +2

Obviously not as good as the previous $5 for $100 GC

  • +6

It IS free money but this is where I draw the line

    • +3

Agree, basically it's only 0.5% better than everyday available gift cards via cashrewads for example. Need at least 5% to be a good deal imo.

      • -1

SB home swap is always 2.25% so not even 0.5% better

        • SB Home Swap cannot be used for Amazon

          • @dcypher: Yeah it can? I use it all the time.

  • +1

I'll wait, hoping for a $10 promo credit on $200+ or $250+ spend next week.

  • +1

Only 2.5% savings. Even Amazon gift cards through Macquarie offer more at 3%.

    • +2

But that requires having an account with Macquarie, this does not.

      • +1

Macquarie bank account is free and no monthly fees FYI, takes a few minutes to open one.

      • -1

Macquarie offers some of the best perks as a bank compared to the big 4 and it's free. At this point I don't know why you wouldn't open an account with Macquarie.

      • +1

Lots of other Portals offer ~3% discount also

Thank you, I had not seen Amazon on rewards gateway until now!

          • +1

            @WhatsTheBigDeal: :)

Yeah, I've seen it in my work portal for maybe a couple of months, definitely only recently though. Wasn't there before!

Don't forget the golden Amazon purchase rules:

    1. First pay using a debit card
    2. Pay again using full price Amazon gift cards
    3. Spend hours confusing Amazon CS over online chat
    4. Complain about ozbargain on productreview.com.au
    • Why complaining about OZbargain? This site is free for start!

      • The above is based on a real forum post that has since been deleted at the request of the OP.

You can't make this shit up. It's legit

    • You mixed up the order of operations.

      1. —> 3. —> 2. —> 4.
      • Ahhh that's right. I have the memory of a goldfish.

Remember if you are with any of these rewards programs you can already get 3% discounts on Amazon GC (e.g buy $200 get $6 discount)

    AGL Rewards
    Aust Unity Wellplan (3.8%)
    Bupa Life Rewards
    Entertain./ Frequent Values
    Lumo Rewards (3.5%)
    Macquarie Marketplace
    Member Advantage
    Perkbox
    Redeem Your Gift Card
    Reward Gateway

    See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

You only get a 1.1% discount for $100 and 1.89% for $500 after the delivery fee, even when buying e-gift cards at redeemyourgiftcard.com.au.

    • The rates on Redeem Your Gift Card are misleadings. Even at check out, they show “You Save $x” is also misleading AF. After they deduct the $2.95 delivery fee and 1% credit card processing fee (both unavoidable), they are less competitive than others. e.g $200 Amazon GC, you’d pay $196.82 (only $3.18 or 1.59% saving).
Shopback often have promo for 3% true discount, no fees.

  • If you have Bupa, you're better off getting 3% back on $200

  • +1

Doesn't promo credit invalidate cashback which makes this a bad deal?

  • +1

I won't be buying this one, discount is too low. The problem is not just that its 2.43%, as that is still higher than giftcards from shopback… but the problem is that it's promo credit - if you return an item you purchased with promo credit you lose the promo credit.

    • If you initiate the return via live chat and mention the promo credit, they will most likely refund the promo credit manually. They did for me the other week.

      • Had to chat like about 3/4 times before I got the promo credit reinstated - item was not undeliverable as well.

  • +1

$5 Promo Credit on $200+. That's crazy. hodl

  • +1

Barely better than shopback home swap (2.25% all year round).

  • you could done better Amazon!

  • +1

Also using that promo credit is restricted, unlike gift cards bought elsewhere which can be used on anything at amazon.

    • +1

Downvote all you like, I am simply reporting the facts.

  • Macquarie bank app has 3% gift cards

  • Less than 10%? No thanks.
