  Pretty great lens for a beginner/hobbyist. Great in low light, great for beautiful bokeh that so many love. You will eventually out grow it in terms of needing a wide lens and possibly a telephoto lens. But it can do just about everything a beginner/hobbyist needs for a while, broadly speaking. And an absolute bargain, even at RRP.

  Third party on amazon has been $218 previously, but not since 2020, so a good price with cashback. Note: $7.99 shipping.

  Auto focus sucks at least on my A7. Basically not usable.

        And the motor is super loud. Forget about doing any video with it if sound is important.

  Get the Viltrox 50mm F2 AIR instead. Cheaper and much better (according to reviews, I am still waiting for mine).

    yeah, chinese lenses catching up japanese quality (sometimes exceeding feature-wise ) with better price tag -same in the car industry….
