Has anyone attended this event? I’m hesitant to go to these kinds of events at the Melbourne Convention Centre as they seem to be marketing events for brands rather than something with real value. Would love to hear from people who have attended.

At least for the one in Brisbane its just a fun day of eating samples, and drinking way too many samples of wine and spirits, its a lot of fun.

        can 2nd that

    • Yep, since college. What do you want to know? Also look up the threads/deals from past years, there's lots of discussions there.
Our no.1 tip is go on Friday.

i went one year, and probably would not go again
It's basically just lining up all day to taste a sample of whatever

    • I went last year and it's okay if you want to buy things.
The samples are good as well and for $6 i think it's okay. Maybe Sunday since most vendors will do firesales

That is exactly what these events are: marketing events for brands.

The main value for the customer is being exposed to new things, and trying stuff you would not otherwise be able to try. If you enjoy that sort of thing (trying and buying interesting things), then this is probably the event for you!

If you are looking for the kind of food event that is about actually eating delicious stuff and perhaps learning / delving more into the "food scene", you're probably looking for the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

    • I went many years ago, probably now a decade ago and then another time just before Covid. I felt like the first time I went was much better in that there were more samples and tastings and also less people overall; I think I actually sampled enough to be full and not need lunch. I was still hungry the second time. I probably wouldn't go again unless someone invited me and it was free (or at this relatively nominal amount).

I really wish they did an over 18's session of this event. Trying to move around so many families with prams and kids makes it turn into quite a long day.

They did once, one year on a Thu night I think, it was THE dream.

    No Saturday 😞

  • As the GA ticket doesnt include the wine glass does anyone know how much they normally cost?

    • found the cost online $10 per wine glass.

  • Anyone else got their tickets emailed? Paid for tickets for Sunday but haven’t received them yet…

    • I received confirmation email from promotix with ticket pdf (barcode) when I booked on Monday, though this morning I got an email from good food and wine show with a ticket link (downloaded and it's QR code). Not sure if it's the same ticket.

  • hey anyone have 2 spare tickets for saturday in sydney that they're not going to use? was keen to go with the misso
