Also got one for first choice liquor

    • Same on platinum

    • Same. Got LL and First Choice across 2 main and 7 supps so time to load up on the gift cards.

  • I got only First Choice on my main Amex, but both First Choice and Liquorland on my second Amex

Edit: This offer is also on supplementary cards

  • Excludes any gift card or tobacco purchases through Liquorland.

    How do they actually check?

    • +4

      They can't but don't tell anyone ;-)

      • good to know. They didn't used to be able to track it previously, but it's was years since the last time i held an amex; so wasn't sure if they've changed any.

        will try it today, cheers

Does LL sell Coles Myer GC?

    • +1

      yes

      • +1

how about First Choice ? I think they are also under coles group?

        • Some, not all.

  • Got it on all 3 cards and the supplementary cards as well.Off to get some gift cards!

    • Just got 6 Coles Myer $100 gift cards from Liquorland and confirmation email already received. They couldn't give me a $600 card and split the transaction over my 6 cards.

      • I think the maximum value for a single Coles Myer GC is $500. I've had luck purchaisng a $300 one and split the payment 3 ways - prob depends on who you get.

        • The guy who served me at Liquorland today told me it wasn't possible so I just went with it. I have been able to do it elsewhere

          • @desperate: I got told the same thing. Good news is that I already have Amex confirmation email on one of my cards.

For those of us that don't drink, is it possible to get a gift card which can be used at another retailer or coles etc?

Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards.

    • +3

In my experience, most Liquorlands sell Coles Group & Myer gift cards.

However, there are two I have walked past over the past year or so where they have stopped displaying Coles Group & Myer gift cards. I have spoken to staff there at different points and they insist they no longer sell them. Considering those stores are physically located in Coles supermarkets and you have enter the Coles to then enter those Liquorlands, I suspect those Liquorlands think it makes more sense for a customer to buy a gift card at the Coles instead.

There was a third Liquorland I went to a couple of months ago where there were Coles Group & Myer gift cards on display, but the staff member told me to go to the Coles next door to buy a gift card. Helpful…

  • so much liquor deals - or maybe i get excited only when i see liquor deals…

not many stores in metro sydney

  • First Choice is no longer in SA with shopfront -converted to Liquorland - on Amex T+C participating locations defaults to Liquorland website store search, so this will be triggered with purchase at Liquorland?

  • Does giftcards bought at liquorland count towards velocity status credits?

Im thinking no but unsure if others have tried

    • It used to count, but it stopped counting a few years ago.

Got it on 10 cards - just not sure i can be bothered doing 10 transactions on $100 Coles Myer cards!

  • Got first choice offer.. it is just a bit out of my usual commute. Does anyone know what gift cards they usually sell?

    • +2

All the First Choice Liquor stores I have visited have sold First Choice Liquor gift cards and Coles Group & Myer gift cards (and that is it).

  • Bought Myer Coles Gc. Lets see if the credit comes through

Commenting to see if anyone who has the First Choice rather than Liquorland deal spends @ Liquorland and gets the $10 back.

Am willing to give it a go but not till next week sometime 🙂 ( Thursday probably)

will try today as in SA no such thing as Firstchoice and Amex prarticipating stores defaults to select Liquorland store Cross the fingers !!

      • Thanks ! @glyptothek

  • I have both offers on my Supplementary card and just Liquorland on the main one. Weird.

  • Will this work whilst using Amex on Apple Pay or does it have to be a physical card ? T & C’s third party payment processor not accepted ? Cheers

    • Previous offers worked for me on Google Pay. Don't have an iphone but can't see why it should be any different.
