Would be a good price for S25 Edge right?

    • +3

Yes it is (based on the RRP before people start on how expensive phones are).

Also, I've changed over to the S25 Edge from a Pixel 9 Pro XL and its my favourite phone so far. One of the main tech reviewers said it 'ruins other phones' and I kinda get it now. I don't want to hold/use another phone anymore.

Also, in actual real world usage for me, not noticing any difference so far in battery which people say is the main concern for the Edge. I preface that by saying I WFH most of the time so aren't on 5G or out in the sun with max brightness a lot in the day. I am also not a heavy user who plays games or does more than use it for messaging/occasional calls and some youtubing/emails, but its more than sufficient IMO. Also, some of the battery drain tests out there on Youtube etc are showing that whilst battery obviously not as good as the Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro/Max, its pretty decent. In fact, my old Pixel 9 Pro XL only lasted a few mins longer

All in all, I love the phone and I think most people would too.

        • No worries :)

How is the screen on time?

        • So far (early days still as I've had it a week or so), I'm getting around 6 and a half hours. I was getting about 7 on my Pixel 9 Pro XL, so yeah, little less but in real world use, I'm not noticing any difference at all.

I took it off charge this morning at 5am when I headed to the gym, was listening to music whilst there for an hour, then headed to work and have been messaging family/friends on Whatsapp etc through the morning, doing some internet banking, scrolling chrome for deals on Ozbargain etc and am sitting on 92% nearly 5 hours after I took it off charge. A few of the tech reviewers have said it, but Samsung must have some tweaks/optimisations they've rolled out in this phone as a bit of a guinea pig for future phones based on what we're seeing and so far, I'm impressed too.

  • Hopefully JB match the deal with their $79 plan

    • Why? You'd be paying $40 more.

      • +2

The termination contract would only be $550 with JB

    • Can someone explain how the cancellation methods works ?

      • with HN, you stay on for 4 months and cancel to pay the least cancellation fees

        • in the critical info summary, it says that you need to pay back any discount / gift card you recieved upon cancellation ?

          • @Nina400Mehran: this is referring to if you cancel the plan within 4 months, you need to pay back the base value of the gift card ($500) not the promo value

    • Any luck?

    • +1

I just went to JB to ask if they could match Harvey and they said no. I'm with Optus so gonna pick up a $5 Aldi SIM to port out and sign up with Harvey over the weekend.

      • +1

Same. They were kinda dicks about it tbh. Meanwhile had a great experince at Harvey Norman. Apparently we live in bizarro world now.

  • Would it be OK to port from a Moose service given they're an Optus network? I can never remember the rules with the re-sellers

    • Yup, just can’t be Optus Postpaid

      • My wife is currently with Optus postpaid. She needs a new phone. How long would she need to be ported out of Optus to qualify for this deal?

        • +1

          theres no cooldown period

Maybe OP received email otherwise (I haven’t received any yet), but even the Google Pixel Pro Fold that OP posted said $2699 off the device price, while the T&Cs say $2000 off

works out to about $23.17 a month for 100gb plan, if you value the phone at $1100

If you’re signing up just for the sim plan & need roaming, check if it comes with $5 roaming as some HN plans are $10 roaming

      • $10 roaming

        • shame, good deal otherwise

    • It's still an iPhone, not worth it.

    • -3

      WWDC on the 10th.
Don’t wanna get disappointed your new phone doesn’t have the same features as the next one

      • It won’t be for the iPhone.

      • +3

They haven't announced an iPhone at wwdc in a very long time. Will be an event in august/september as always.

        • +1

I'm not an Apple or Android fan boy but I can't believe they're only JUST releasing a "time till fully charged" feature 💀

          • +2

@lachhelix: Made possible thanks to more advanced battery technology and the new iBattery hardware it's going to revolutionise the charging experience

      • You forgot to use calendar method, they always release new phone every Sept lol

    • can't find the $1187 credit offer on HN website, I know its in store only but cant find it on their website, can only see the $900 offer

69 a month every month for 24 straight months sounds great!

  • I called my local, who told me the Edge is not part of this deal

    • Post updated to reflect this

  • So how does harvey norman go about raising the debt if you cancel early?
Like its a contract with Optus, but what is the arrangement with HN?

    • Optus pay us to give you the phone, the phone is an outright purchase and not locked to a plan

      • So once i pay off the phone after 120 days, it becomes unlocked ? As I need to mostly use Telstra rurally.

        • +1

Phone is given to you from us, not locked at all.

          • @HardlyNormal: Thank you for the clarification. Sounds like it’s time to upgrade the s10.

  • Apple is marketing for iphone 16 everywhere….I thought it's very popular without marketing activities…

    • It is popular? Just go to a university campus or airport.

  • How much cost if I need a pro max 16 256?

    Better than Costco $1879?

    • +1

      Yes
      $69x4+ $690 + $750 (pro max difference) = $1716

If you are paying more than $28.75/m for your sim, its cheaper to stay on it than cancel

      • On a $10 monthly w/Felix
What about the 128gb Pro w cancellation? Not keen on optus

        • $1416
but doesnt your sim price go up within 4 months? if so plan is cheaper
          why not keen on optus?

          • @HardlyNormal: I'm open to it. How does the Harvey Norman cancellation work though… I just wait 120 days? Or pay monthly for the duration of the contract? How much does it turn out to be monthly again?

            • @retnup: $69 for 4 months then $690 upon cancellation, $400 upfront at time of signup, $1366 all up actually

              • @HardlyNormal: Will you issue a tax invoice with the full amount like JB deals? Would be useful for claiming TRS!

                • +1

@Craze: these ones only give a tax invoice for the amount you pay upfront, eg pro max gives $750

  • I'm currently on a Harvey Norman Optus post paid plan, any idea how long I'd need to port out before I can sign up for this deal?

    • +2

no time, theres no 30 day cooldown like JB

  • How much will Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB cost if I do early termination?
I'm keen to buy 2 as a gift and take overseas.

    • $1716 ea

      • Is that after TRS refund?

      • Also, on the website, Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB show available to order in store.

If this $1716 is pre TRS, then I'm tempted but would need it by Friday.

        • only be able to claim $750 on TRS as thats what would appear on inv

        • just contact stores, see who has stock, 512gb is low stock everywhere

          • @HardlyNormal: Is it always $690 cancellation fee for any of the iPhone models after 4 months, and that reduces pro rata for the remaining 20 months or is there the full handset cost adjusted on top of that?

            • @Matteo27: Yes it reduces prorata, the cancellation cost is essentially half of whats remaining eg $69/2x20 is $690, handset cost is irrelevant

  • do you pricematch costco?

    • i would!

  • I normally would say it, cause I’m the first to dump on these guys but this is a really good deal and they were really pleasant to deal with despite some optus issues. Pretty stoked tbh.

    • What did you get? iPhone or Samsung?

  • Iam currently on optus but my contract ended months ago. I assume ill need to port out and port back in?

Can i do this in store i.e can it be done in a matter of minutes? Or should i do this say a day before going to HN to get this deal?

Do they have sims i can buy there or where should i get a cheap sim?

    Thanks

    • I ported out to Aldi the night before and signed up no issues

  • I am very confused how this works out to the prices quoted? (i.e $966)
Isn't it $966 being the minimum fee for the Optus plan, then you apply the discount to the purchase price, currently about $1587 => $966 - $1187 + $1587 = $1366?
    What am I missing here?

    • Correct!

  • @Hardly Normal - can you please share the price that would work out for iPhone 16 Pro 256GB and 512GB? Just a bit confused about the pricing. Thanks.

    • Seriously, can you not just go back a few posts and replace the value for one of the other models with yours and do some basic maths?

    • +2

      16 Pro 256gb $580 upfront
      512gb $910

  • @Hardly Normal - Seems like the any iPhone 16 for $69 deal is gone from the list :(

    • I still see it? Available till end June

      • Nothing for the base iphone 16 though for 69. it's now on $99

        • Maybe ring up store to confirm? Odd that they've removed the base model

        • Did you have any luck on the base iPhone 16 for $69 per month?

          • +1

@JimmyLmao: Just went to one near my place. They still have the base 16 for 69. Just not on the website. Thanks!

    • Because the price dropped to $1149, still $0 on $69

  • I’m a bit confuse. Where is the OP getting $69x4 months from as well as the $690? Why does it have to be 4 months?

    • It's discussed in the 3rd dot point

    • because you have to be on the plan for 4 months to get a lower cancellation fee

  • Just sign a deal with harvey norman optus
    16 pro max 256g
    Upfront 750. 69 x14months to hold 120 days
    Total cost Is 1716
Paid extra 30 for case and screen and the staff helps to do the screen
    Happy enough deal

I also signed pixel 9 fold deal in May with jbhifi. However the fold inner screen got issue after 6 days of purchasing. I have to return to jb for Google to access it. As it is screen issue and the staff will not do immediate exchange or refund and I have to wait another 2 weeks to Google to access it. It is finally get refunded but it is Wasting my $135 and $25 screen protector spigen cover.

    • is there a 14 month plan?

      • 4months holding + 10months worth of cancellation fee

  • What happens if you cancel after 14 months? Because 4x69+690=966=14 months plan cost. 690 is just 10 months plan cost…

So, for cancellation after 14 months, does that mean we have to pay nothing?

    • 69/2*14 =483

      • I didn’t get that. I thought 14 months have already been paid and the remaining contract months are just 10 months. But that 483 is basically half of 966…

        • ???
Cancellation is half owing or 69/2 x months remaining

          • @HardlyNormal: Ahhh right. So 690 is not 10x69. It basically then 20x(69/2), got it now.

  • So if I get a iPhone 16 PRO 256GB on a 99$ plan
I'll end up paying 1069 in total. Am I right??

    • @Hardly Normal

      • Wrong person. Try it without the space.
