It shouldn't. Good chance kitty has some degree of gum disease. I'd suggest getting it to a vet for a quick look - If you catch it early enough, you might spare yourself a $1500-$2000 bill that will make you aware that feline oral health exists.
I was too late because it thought the cat breath of death was normal. On the bright side, post treatment, my cats breath is non-existent.

Tempted to try. Most mouthwashes are tested on animals, but apparently this brand is cruelty free.
