Been super happy with this one from AliExpress which is apparently a Tweetycam without all of the official stickers.

    Found it through r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Been using it for 3 years. It's okay. It pushes you heavily towards subscribing for all the decent features. The only ones we really used were the cry detection and roll over detection. Everything else seemed a bit gimmicky.

My wife has always had connection issues on multiple IOS phones, where I've rarely had issues with my Android devices. Every now and then we have to delete one of the grandmas out of the user list because it stops working and re-add them - both IOS users too.

  • I heard the CEO and CTO had a conflict over releasing the new product.

Have had the old version for 4 years now - was worth it for us.

Don't use the subscription and just use the camera features.

Had one issue with the temperature sensor reading incorrectly but support sent one happily under warranty.

    Would recommend.

Skip the baby tax and pick up a few TP-Link Tapo cams around $30 each.

PTZ, baby crying detection, home assistant, RTSP/ONVIF compatible…

    • ^this. Plus you dont need to carry around and charge an extra monitor. Just use your phone, work, home another country i can see whats happening

    • are those PTZ, baby crying detection features locked behind a subscription though?

      • No paywall for those features. Subscription just gets you cloud storage

It's best to avoid WiFi-enabled cameras for baby monitoring purposes, as they can be vulnerable to hacking. These devices often connect to the internet, and if not properly secured, unauthorised individuals may gain access to the live feed.

Instead, consider using non-WiFi (closed-loop) baby monitors that operate on a local radio frequency or encrypted digital signal for enhanced safety and privacy.

Just came here to recommend this product. Great camera, great app.

  • baby to Marge….baby to Marge….wah wah

  • One more happy owner of a CuboAI. We found that the first year of free premium covers when we needed the premium features the most. Now our kid is older, and less need for them. This camera did a fine job, and most importantly, it looks cute in the kids room

  • I have one and found it quite good for the first year when we had our first little one and preferred to be over alarmed with notifications rather than being worried.

I would caution that the buyer understands that you have to pay a subscription for most features a first time parent is interested in beyond the first year. It then becomes a somewhat run of the mill baby camera. If you have subsequent children, you have to subscribe to get all the features that are helpful.

Support used to be really good, when I had issues with the app, they fixed it quite quickly, albeit, creating subsequent problems lol. Recently, its not as good. I have had a number of connection issues (frustratingly refusing to work and needing a restart in the middle of the night which isn't possible when the little guy is sleeping as it makes a noise on restart and therefore rendering the whole system uselss), lag issues, audio not coming through, audio not playing properly, and some basic features not working even through they are meant to be free.

I reached out to say that the Amazon ad didnt say there was a subscription for the plus model when I bought it and they arent really being receptive beyond a small offer of 3 free months and refuse to aknowledge that this is useless when my next baby is due after 3 months. The low care factor is saddening especially with how expensive it is.

My brother has used the Tapo camera for his 3 kids and never had an issue, and the PTZ has been quite useful. My friends use their cheap amazon bluetooth baby camera for 3 kids which is great and never had an issue and they take it anywhere easily, which is difficult for us with the need for Wifi. I have tried the phone hotspot but this hasnt worked for us.
