But are they marine grade 316? It makes a big difference after a bit of time.
The AliExpress ones doesn’t state what type of steel it is, could be 304 only. The Aldi is 316 Stainless Steel, extremely rust resistant.
Do Aldi explicitly say theirs are 316 grade somewhere though? The webpage just says "marine grade stainless steel" which might just be one of those airy-fairy terms.
I've had AliExpress ones, several versions. If these Aldi ones are the same as they were a couple of years ago then they are much better - thicker gauge and less corrosion prone (though that's barely been noticeable even in the AliExpress ones).
I can vouch for the fact that the Aldi ones can really stuff up your lawnmower, so they're pretty sturdy. 😒
We've been using the ones from Woolworths for more than a year now, they do the job pretty-well and appear to be more sturdy than plastic pegs.
Looks like Amazon has price matched the woolies one if you have prime for free delivery
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B67PH5GNWoolworth’s one doesn’t state the grade of stainless steel, so it is likely 304 only. Hard to find a better price than Aldi when it comes to the higher grade 316 pegs.
likely
Can't be 100% sure but these look like ones we were gifted a while back. They are incredibly stiff, hard to use. So stiff young kids can't operate them for chores
Yes, due to the thick gauge of wire used, they are quite stiff. Not really suitable for young kids and the elderly.
On the other hand, because they are stiff, they have better holding strength compared the thinner gauge wired pegs. The woolies ones are lesser gauge and less stiff.
They are so sustainable and long lasting that the idea is that they'll still be around when your young kids will reach that grip strength. It's an investment in their fitness.
Anyone got tips on what's the best way to hang these off air dryer racks? Zip ties? wire ties?
Make sure you don't drop any, these are bad for mowers.
Marine grade? Like crayons?
Got given these, theyre not great (have had some bend out of shape pretty readily).
Also if you have any lines that are thinner than your regular multi-core washing line (e.g. a makeshift line with thin line), there is no adjustability like you get with pegs that hve multiple sized holes, so stuff just slides around, even if it gets held up.
Aldi don't say what size they are so it's difficult to compare exactly, but I got 40 pegs that look the same, for about the same price, from AliExpress (US$5.24 via 'Bundle deals discount'): https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005008810338474.html
