If the link doesn't work it probably means no stock near you.

Couple of negative reviews, but I would bet they are down to user error.

Perfect for fence building or gardens when you need to put posts in. Just be wary that you need two people depending on your soil type. As if you hit rocks it can pull your arm off

These days they usually have at least a rudimentary clutch to help avoid this. I tried to find the manual to verify, but could not find one.

But definitely easier with 2 people. The last one I used was over 30 years ago and it tried to tear my arms off. Got a mate to help after that experience.

is there a pre hole digger?

jv, you’ve done it aga- wait!

    • I was tempted by this one. But I only need to dig half a hole.

      • Just use a spoon, slow and steady will get a result…….

Almost cheaper than renting one for the weekend.

    • $115/day, or $81/4 hours or $328/week (@ Bunnings Hire)

So, yup, it's definitely cheaper to buy one than hire for a weekend. Crazy.

I thought 'mine' was bad. You are digging a hole for yourself with that one:)

It has limited availability, but I was actually about to buy this one from Mitre 10 last week.
It's 20% more powerful at 51.7cc, and the auger has an 800mm reach.
But after a little more research on the post hole diggers, I came to realise that this size is pretty useless in anything other than a relatively nice to compacted soil.
And after already excavating the topsoil and 200-300mm of clay in the yard, I doubt these would go a further 500mm into the hard clay I have for the posts.

    • 100% this ^

I mean it clearly states in the description that this machine is for sand and soil, but so often people don't read properly.
No way this posthole digger is suitable for clay. At all.

      • I ordered first then research later as I will need one soon. I guess i will be returing it when it arrives with OnePass
