Damn these prices are so good. I recently replaced both tyres on mine at $25 each.

    • +6

Agreed! I have an old handmedown from Dad, and sourcing replacement wheels isn't cheap. For a few dollars more I can get a brand new non rusted one. Crazy throw away society.

      • +8

        I use these, 12.99 ea..

        • max capacity 130kg :(

          • +2

@UFO: Two wheels, so 260kg total. As long as you don't do any wheelies.

            • +2

@seb: Good point. And "not for highway use" apparently :). Good thing they mentioned that!

Should be ok then I reckon. Cheers.

              • +3

@UFO: "just doing a tip run officer!"

            • +6

@seb: I did wonder about that, but reckon they're most likely 130Kg total weight on an axle of 2 wheels.
Their 250Kg saxon trolley has pneumatic tyres, their 150kg does not.
This sort of misrepresentation is not uncommon… axle stands are a great example. I've come across lots that state a nominal capacity, but the tiny fine print somewhere says the capacity refers to 4 axle stands in combination…. the sort of deception that could get someone killed, and should be illegal…

Got a few sets of these various trolleys my family have. Just an FYI they have no give like a pneumatic tyre, I almost destroyed my back lifting a trolley half loaded with bricks down steps
On the plus side you never have to worry about flat tyres, especially for for when you are moving large appliances and a semi inflated tyres makes manoeuvring really difficult

  • That axle looks flimsy as. I once bent one while chocking it with my foot while tilting back a fridge, now it's the first thing I look at.

My $25 garage sale one has a solid tube around the axle

    • +1

DO you think it would be easy/would work to cut some pipe to length and slip it over the axle with this one?

      • +1

Looks like it would be easy enough if you had suitable pipe just split pins holding the wheels on.

TBH, you probably don't need to, just don't chock the wheels with the axle with a fridge on it

Price needs to be lower. Make it $69.420 and I'm in.

    • Nice Elon

    • +2

Doesn't look like you're old enough to have a hand trolley license.

      • -4

        If you say so, nutcase.

  • +1

I just bought the cheapo 250kg Saxon for $32.79.

That’s probably an on special price too.

Hoping it won’t break before I put it together 😇

    can I have a 10c discount

    • Give me a bottle to recycle first

  • +1

Can this help you get appliances upstairs?

  • -4

    160kg folding one looks better

    • -1

But OP's one is 300kg capacity… a big difference, especially if you want to move really heavy items.

      • What are you moving with a tiny cart that’s over 160kg?
All you neggars must have heaps of storage space.

  • +1

I've moved a lot of stuffs on sacktrucks, but never anything 300Kg. It would take a big piano removals type bloke or two to manhandle it, regardless of the sacktruck.
There are however often other differences between cheap and not so cheap sacktrucks, like size and strength of the platform base, which can make a big difference in useability.
I'm a bit sus about the flat free tyres… it's going to be a hard act for them to absorb a bit of bounce on steps and stuff, while not flattening out like wiley coyote with a fridge dropped on his head… if you've got something heavy on board.

    • +6

I've got a couple similar to this, the green Saxon 250kg one and a yellow Stanley.
Depending on how inflated the tyres are, 80kg is about as much as I wanna throw one one of these, especially if going over a door jam or step.
I know the proper removalist ones with 3 wheels, ratchets, etc, are far easier to distribute the weight on and move around.
But yeah, there's not a hope in hell you're gonna move 300kg by yourself with one of these.
How the #@(% these get rated to 300kg in the first place is beyond me. Even with 3 guys tilting it, there's not a hope that pissy welded on flat platform is going to hold.

This one is really good. I bought mine 33 years ago in 1992 when Bunnings was called Hardware House and it still works. A little bit of surface rust but I sand it lightly every 20 years and just repaint it a new colour. It's very sturdy and possibly could last 150 - 200 years if you grease the bearings every decade and look after the light surface rusts when storing outside. Mine will be a family heirloom and will be passed down when I die in the next 20 years. My kids and I, we have engraved our names on the trolley so when all my kid's die in the next 60 years, their kids will inherit it and hopefully will engrave their names on it. Very good quality.

    • That trolley’s been around longer than Google!!! Respect!

    • +1

The fact that you have a 20yr maintenance program on your trolley … full respect good sir!

    • Do you use spray paint or liquid?

      • Paint brush. we don't baby it, between this and the Gorilla Cart, it gets used and abused moving garden soil bags, fertiliser and manure for the vege garden. It has done it's bit moving heavy appliances, etc also. Also gets borrowed by every family member and street neighbour.

    • Bearings?? You've got the upmarket model!

  • +1

big thing here is the flat free wheels. they cost a fortune to buy

  • -1

This order is not eligible for onepass free delivery, items in your cart exceed parcel size.

    Anyone?

    • I get the same message.

  • -4

Was $89? Not that much of an amazing deal is it?

    • +1

You are correct. Not sure why you got so many down votes :)

      • I guess because this thing is not heavily discounted usually?

        • Still not heavily discounted …

          • +1

@Tgb: Yep I'd have ordered one if free delivery, but I don't need one for now …

  • -1

    Ohh 69, I like

  • $25 onepass delivery fee :(

  • +1

Went with the supercheap hand trolley - moving out of a unit needed the stair hard wheel function. Added lock in strap a bonus and on special

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-hand-trolley-6-w…

    • -1

That's a much better deal for $89 you should post that separately as a deal.

    • This one has a 180kg load capacity. I'm considering it along with the OP's trolley. Would 180kg be enough for general use? In what situations might it not be sufficient? I’ve never owned a hand trolley before, so I’m open to suggestions.

      • +1

I'm not sure what you think you might want to move that would need a 300kg rating.
As an idea, a big 600L fridge might weigh around 120kg.
So unless you're trying to physically pick up something like a decent sized road bike, the 180kg is weigh more (pun) than you'll ever need.

  • Purchased one cheers
