Cooking advice from the internet

To cook effectively with stainless steel, preheat the pan until water beads and dances across its surface before adding oil, then let the oil heat briefly before adding food. This prevents sticking, even for delicate items like fish or eggs (though scrambled eggs are better suited to nonstick due to their low-heat cooking preference). Once heated and oiled, the pan's pores retain seasoning, maintaining a nonstick effect even at lower temperatures for simmering dishes.

Two 18/10 stainless steel layers with a heat radiant aluminum core deliver even cooking from every side

Misleading to call it "tri ply ss"?

    • For it to be misleading, the advantage for triple stainless steel layers would need to make sense. In this use case, it does not, as aluminium (or copper) being the centre layer is used as a better conductive material for heat distribution. This is the entire "gimmick" of multi-ply pots.

I would imagine triple SS would be worse than solid SS of the same thickness, because it adds additional layers of matter for the heat to transfer (air/patina), making it less efficient.

  • Anyone using it? How good is quality? I need to buy one and need a suggestion please. Thanks

  • Good price. Too many pans

  • Hm, I just need a saucepan

Buy first, think later, that’s the true OzBargainer way.
Almost all retailers let you cancel an order if you change your mind except Catch, and that’s why they’re gone.

    • Amazon give you until your item ships before charging you, buy first research once the item is secured :D

  • Wow good find OP. Ozbargained.

  • Triply != fully cladded.

Unless I have missed, nowhere it says it’s fully cladded. I’ve seen many use tri-ply to make it sound like it’s fully cladded without explicitly saying it’s sandwiched/disc bottom.

    • Two 18/10 stainless steel layers with a heat radiant aluminum core deliver even cooking from every side

Without looking too deeply into this, reads like it's fully cladded, you can see in the images it's not sealed around the rim however.

Something to consider is that disc bottoms is probably better for induction stoves. Clad sides probably just suck up heat, compared to gas where the flames wrap around.

      • cryptic messages that allows for readers interpretation is my main worry. Also there isn't a single image that shows the full bottom or cross section clearly to determine this. My guess is these are tri-ply on the bottom only.

While disc bottom may be better for browning and on induction they're far cheaper than good fully cladded SS products.

      • very few triply are sealed around the rim. seal around the rim is supposed to be better if you put in dishwasher but requires more work. to make and so costs more.

ESTELLE Made in ITALY, lifetime warranty.
    Not much more than this.

Not much more than what and for what set?
      Do tell.

Any particular set or retailer you had in mind for Esteele?
I think your statement is typical BS.

I can't find anything within a $100 of your claim for even close to 13 pieces.
Unless the deal is not on presently/sold-out?
I got a Scanpan – Satin 18/10 Stainless Steel Induction GIANT 10pc Cookware Set $400 and that seems about all I can find.
      At Victoria's Basement.
On here Esteele seems to be only 5 piece sets and the same for their website.

Damn, missing this one is going to haunt me

    • I had my alert set for stainless steel frypan. 🫠

      • +1

I have an alert for cookware but I often don't check on the weekends dangit. Ah well, there's some mixed reviews so it's probably for the best.

        • +1

Yeh great price but the reviews are a bit average. Rather pay more for a different brand for a buy-it-for-life type product like SS pans.

          • @oatmatcha: some brands have welded handles instead of rivets so easier to clean. all comes down to budget

There's actually one left rn if you still want it.
