yeah, that was one of the reasons I went for the normal Pixel 8.. but each to their own preferences.. Happy to reconsider for future deals :p and maybe upgrade to a Pixel 9 Pro. Need to go into a store and try one out by holding a Pro in hand to see if it's comfortable or not.. seems like a popular phone since it all got sold out, with the Pixel 8 256GB still available….
I don't know why you would pay a full hundred bucks just for 128gb extra storage, when you can just back stuff up and most things are in the cloud anyway. No surprise that is the one left over. They should have made a smaller pro with the big camera and for an extra hundred that might make it worth it

The display and camera on the pixel is way better
I am sure they are, but honestly the g75 is no slouch for the not too picky. I was amazed at how good the screen was for an IPS, I don't know that I would miss the oled that much. And while I have only seen daytime photo, they have been good, I am sure at night it might struggle somewhat

I picked up the G75 for $230 with buds, so basically $300 less than the Pixel. I only use about 3 to 4 hours of screen time a day. How many hours would I typically get from a Pixel?
3 pages of comments and not one case recommendation. I don't expect this comes with a case like the Motos. Last pixel I had (4) I picked up a spigen case for it, it was decent but one too many throws from the little one and it did eventually cop a bright line down the side and a small crack.
oled panels are just more fragile, it's possible even for the glass to not crack but the panel underneath to break. Get a rugged case

I didn't do a lot of research, but went with an 8 pro standard Google case (which seems to be pretty good, and I like how it looks) Magic John front screen protector (which looks easy to install, and Spigen don't seem to have an Ez Fit front screen for the 8 pro) and a Spigen Ez Fit protector for the camera lens.

You can sell your Pixel 7 for over $300 and buy an iPhone SE 2nd gen for under $150 to use for the trade-in. I just sold my SE 2nd gen for $110 and bought a SE 3th gen for $249. I use it to lock in petrol prices at 7-Eleven.
Thinking of doing this but 1 year expiry on $185 store credit is a tough sell.
You can purchase something before your store credit expires, return it, and then the reissued credit will have a new one-year expiry date.

Ordered a P8P Blue 128gb around midday yesterday and have received an order confirmation email, of which the "Tracking" button takes me to my account where there is no way to find the order.
Clicking on the first txt I received takes me to my invoice where payment is listed as "Pending".
Desperately in need of a new phone, so I'm wondering if I should waste my time with support while I'm busy at work or just wait it out.

There are a lot of people complaining about the phone, but I've had my P8 for about a year and I love it. Lots of options for custom roms etc. if you're into that sort of thing. Very few issues. Yes, the battery life is mediocre because of the modem but this isn't an issue for me. For $399 you would have nothing to complain about compared with other options at this price point.
Agreed, I am completely fine with my p8 bought on launch. Maybe people are asking to much for what they pay.

Again, startrack failed to deliver on time, they should adjust their system a bit, if they are unable to do it. Been 3,4 times recently.

So, received an SMS, with Star Track for delivery today. Telstra orders page and status via App were not up to date/updated.
One thing I will say is they really mangle up the box with blemishes or the opening tabs all damaged. WHY? It is sealed but looks like a dog ate it.
Probs cuz these are old stocks they are trying to get rid of. I am okay as long as it's fully sealed not refurbished, open box or returned, and we get a full warranty.

Just take a screenshot of the order confirmation email. That email is actually a tax invoice with ABN and GST amount stated
I just looked at the order confirmation, doesn't state the GST component, just the full price of $499 and phone description. Can't believe why Telstra won't bother to send out an official tax invoice like other retailers do with online orders, except they just sent through a page with a generic warranty paperwork and date of order… I'll try contacting them on Monday now and see if I can get an official tax invoice with an ABN listed..
