  • The flyer doesn't really give much away however I gave this a greenie anyway because ASKO stuff is top notch and if you're in the market for new whitegoods then be sure to check this sale out before handing your cash over to another retailer.

I've had a top-of-the-range ASKO Washer, Dryer & Dishwasher for 12+ years now and although extremely expensive (RRP approx. $2500 per appliance) and took me 3 years to pay it all off it has all been 100% bulletproof, hasn't skipped a beat, never needed a service and still looks and performs as well as it did the day I took delivery of it.

One of the best investments I ever made even at full retail prices so if you can get something with 45% off then you're laughing!!

    • It's a pity they'll be moving their manufacturing away from Sweden to Slovenia this year.

      • Thats because they have been bought over by a Slovenian company

        • Damn. Ah well, fingers crossed my 12 year old ASKOs keep going for another 12+ years in that case! I recently pulled the back covers off each appliance during a house move to clean the dust & cat hair out and had a quick look at the guts. They all still look close to brand new… belts are still clean & tight, hoses & clamps are all still in great condition, no cracked plastic, no rust anywhere on the chassis etc. so I put the covers back on, buffed them up a bit and on they slog.

A buyout had to happen eventually I suppose :( Maybe I should buy a heap of new ASKO stuff now and mothball it for when this stuff eventually dies in the future :P

  • does Asko make top loader washing machines??

    • Sorry Leeanne (hey, same age as me!) ASKO are a European company so they only make front-loaders. Front-loaders are far better than a top-loader in nearly every aspect. They're far gentler on your clothes (my wife washed her Wedding dress in ours!), they wash better overall, they're much quieter & much more stable and the good ones use far less power & water than any top-loader… HOWEVER they take longer to wash and that can be a deal-breaker for some.

A made the change front top-loader to front-loader when I bought my ASKO stuff after doing a LOT of research to convince myself. I've never looked back.

  • Anyone know if the warehouse can arrange delivery? I've been eye-ing off an Asko washing machine for ages.

  • +1

Just spoke to headoffice and delivery can be arranged they say. The fees are circa $40 dollars. Please confirm with them if you happen to be there this saturday.

  • Got to agree that Asko are good stuff, the washing machine suspension works a treat on timber floors. Interesting they are being bought out by Gorenje. Had a Gorenje Pacific washing machine back in the mid 80s. Lasted over 10 years hassle free, twas a bargain given they were one of the cheaper brands

  • Only live about 5 minutes away, got a ute, might have a look Saturday morning, cheers. Need a rangehood.
