First post - please be kind.
I was originally considering the iPad Air, but noticed that Retravision has the new iPad Pro 13" M4 (256GB, Wi-Fi) for $1,997.
As an RAC member, you can get an additional 5% off, bringing the total down to $1,897.15.

With iPadOS 26 just around the corner, the new features and performance improvements make this a compelling alternative to a Mac for everyday tasks.

I just tested this on Repco's website and it also worked.

Winner! We just unlocked a free RAC membership for all OZBargainers!

  • How does this compare to the Tab 10 Ultra I just got for $350?

App is definitely better on iPad. If you are only streaming or watching Youtube, S10 Ultra is probably better.

    • $350? From where?

        • Wow that was one really good deal!

          • @Shil: $350 include trading. which is about $480 if you don't return the trading item and without the $50 code. I used my $50 voucher on s9 and s10 FE I don't have code for the s10 ultra. $480 for a ultra and a RRP $350 case

        • That is a bloody unreal deal

I bought this when it first released and love it. Screen is amazing and paired with the keyboard it really is my go to for browsing / productivity. Can unpair from keyboard whenever which is a beaut

  • Would this be a good alternative to a MacBook air M4 for office tasks? Most of the time my current Air is docked to a larger screen, but would be cool to have something for travel to watch shows etc in a tablet form factor.

    • This is what I've been debating lately. Especially with the upcoming ipadOS26

    • We have the 11 inchM4 IPP and the 15 inch M4 MBA.
It depends on use. I almost exclusively use the IPP (no external keyboard) as I am now, while Mrs entropy tends to use the MBA. And loves it.

If mainly using it for office apps while docked to a larger screen most of the time I would go MBA tbh, especially if thinking 15 inch as it is an awesome screen and the battery when out and about lasts forever.

If mainly out and about and want as light as possible go the IPP. The docking to an external display works but is not as good as a real laptop. On the IPP I use office 360 and various pdf apps all the time, and then there are specialist apps I use for work that are just simply better on the iPad. But Office is easier to use on an MBA or PC.

With regard to the IPP, with the changes coming to IPadOS 26 the larger 13 inch iPad would be better I think. The new approach to windowing would be better on a larger screen.

  • Is the next gen coming soon?

  • Better to get OfficeWorks to price match JB $1,999 price and getting 5% off + flybuys points.

    • I thought of the same too initially but Officeworks have marked the Space Grey out of stock online for some reason for all stores across Western Australia.

  • I was considering it, but 8GB of RAM - I feel that would ultimately hold this back long term, especially with iOS 26. I noticed the 1TB+ models come with 16GB but saw the price was $3000+, no thanks.
