Great price for a solid unit. Don't expect super night vision or clarity. I get transfer speeds of around 11-12MB/s.

I do get the occasional voice alert that "recording is starting" when I've already been driving.

    • +4

Yeah I've had mine for about 6 months and get the same voice alerts.
      Happy with it so far

    • The Project Farm review noted below shows it has better night vision than most of the others. The question would be more could you get an even clearer one relative to those then.

      • Probably not for the price. I get the feeling some people expect to be able to read the number plates clearly even at night.

    • Isn't that because of it's over-sensitive crash detection?

      • It's too random to be crash detection. Happens when stopped at lights for example.

        • So just a false alarm then or was it actually not recording at all beforehand?

          • @vawiyoci: I think something is causing it to stop momentarily then it restarts.

I ended up grabbing the 70mai M200 for about ~$77 before cashback, but this also looks good for that bit extra (both have the Starvis sensor).

If you view this and then check your "Coins" section, it might show up there for slightly cheaper. Came up about $3 cheaper for me and the 70mai was about $10 cheaper that way.

Good price. Just waiting for the a229 pro sale

Bought dual channel for $384 last week directly from VIOFO. Now available for $455.99.

      • Damn, I missed out :( Ive been meaning to get one for a while and waiting for it to go on sale. Was it $384 incl. hardwiring kit?

        • Nah hardware kit was $33.99 extra.

          • @DealBreaker85: Wow $34 what a joke.

My cheap AliExpress cable works perfectly fine at $6

            • +1

@Bretttick: I agree, it's a bit of a joke. but the viofo does come with aussie warranty.. and isn't just a cable, it's a buck converter with programmable low-voltage cuttoff, (and typically thicker gauge wires than the ali ones i've bought) They do have some cheaper non-programmable ones for ~$20.

      • Got the dual channel 229 plus for $163 USD minus $30AUD cashback. Got plus as some reviewers say the pros can get quite hot on hot days

        • the a329 is better for the heat, but there is no a329 pro model yet

      • Thanks for posting that one

Not sure how good the viofo Australia’s EOFY sale gonna be, u might find a good price for that round. Haven’t seen of any of their banner yet

      • u where right LOL

        • Just popped in to buy hardwire kit and saw their banner is up, so I posted a deal straight away ☺️

  • +1

    Single channel btw

I have read that a few ppl like these so much at dashcamtalk.com that they buy two - one for the rear.

      • +1

Potentially easier to wire (If you have a cigarette port or can tap 12V off something already at the rear), but worth considering that you'll have to manually sync the two videos together and you'll need two SD cards.

        • Can you use the rear one as a reversing camera (display on phone)?

          • +2

@cristtos: Not necessarily designed for that. By the time you enable dashcams wifi (manual button), then connect to it, you’d wish you had just parked without it.

        • I would prefer to watch one and then the other, in a clip in DashCamOwners Australia. It doesn't quite make sense to do PIP unless you're focusing on something on both cams, in which case syncing doesnt matter that much.

Hmm, can't seem to get it down to OP's price. It comes to US $89.19 for me. The code "S6S5VRTX8733" when applied states "This coupon code is for single use only
    "

    • Same here. After tax and the 15$ off from the other code, its the 143 price

      • For security reasons your request can't currently be processed

    • getting the same "single use" message and this deal should be marked as expired.

Project Farm review raved about it…we have one in all of the family's car.

      Very impressive!

      • Haha, do the voice man, do the voice!

  • +1

$142 for me. Single use code doesn't work.

  • Awesome price. Thanks got one :)

  • HDR activated at night is sensational. Solid camera.

  • Only get this price if I skip cashrewards…weird

    • Same. Aliexpress pricing is weird sometimes- I am getting it at OP's price in incognito but the moment I go through cashrewards it reverts back to $143. Anybody know how to get it at this price with cashrewards?

  • Is this easy to install on new EV cars? Never installed dash cam before. Any walkthrough or video instructions online?

    • +1

Very easy. EV or ICE. Just stick near the mirror, push the wire between the gap so hidden down the side, under the glove box and plug into a USB port or 12v supply with the supplier adapter

  • What are people doing to run one in front and rear? Buy two of these or something else as the 2nd camera?

  • +1

At this price it's cheaper to buy one for each end of the car rather than a duo

  • What amperage does this draw? The plug next to my rear view mirror is rated at 2.1…

    • +1

      It'd be fine

  • If i am using my car charger for a blutooth adapter but it outputs PD 30W, can I plug a usb c cable into that charger to power this dashcam?

  • I've never signed up for Ali Express. Is the Cashrewards new customer offer worth it for this or should I use the new customer discounts for something else later

  • It says S6S5VRTX8733 cannot be applied

  • Unfortunately, S6S5VRTX8733 cannot be applied :(

  • S6S5VRTX8733b is a single use code only.

  • For those who missed out like me, is there anywhere to get this cheaper? Or should I just go for the A119 v3 for $120?

    • I copped the price. Its still pretty good I think

New code AUAU20 brings it down $20. Total= $135 AUD total

+13% Topcashback and +10% group cashback
