Thanks to the unique Triggerhead tool, you can control the on/off of the brush roll from carpet to hard floors by pressing a button on the handle, so there’s no need to bend down. Read my line in Bold above.. you get extra 10% off when you are a rewards member.

Also, when you add to card and list your shipping to Australia, it will deduct the VAT and add shipping.

Looks like this in my order:

Sub total (after 10% discount for rewards member): £287.10
      Delivery: £25
      VAT Deducted: £47.85
      Total: £264.25

      • arr~silly me, I thought the Bold text is with the ROBOMAID advisement at the bottom of the post so I skipped. Now price good! Thanks OP.

    • How can you tell is is a DC38 and not a DC39?

      • I think you have to look at the model number + name. There are 2 that I can see thats a DC39. But I'm no expert :)

        • Whats the difference between the DC38 multi floor and the DC39 multi floor because the former is the more expensive of the two?

        • DC38 smaller, lighter, less capacity, more expensive on the AU site.

        • Less powerful if I remember correctly.

Haven't they been cancelling lots of orders of late?

  • Been thinking about getting one of these for a while, but its difficult for me to justify a $500 vacuum cleaner when I vacuum only twice a week. I've checked online and this is the best bargain out there even including shipping. But is it worth the price?

    • +1

depend if you think the place you live is dirty/pet hair/human hair etc etc

Dyson do pickup lots of "stuff" a $30 regular vacuum can't….

    • +2

Most (all?) Dysons also come with washable HEPA filters so you aren't blowing most of the dust back out into the air.

They also have great suction compared to your normal bag vacuum (and these don't use bags) and they are built to last.

Very few people are unhappy with their purchase.

      • OK Im convinced! I'm gonna wait till the weekend as the post below says there might be an extra 10% discount :) bargain hunter through and through!

Do we need any converter or adapter for this vacuum cleaner? I think purchase from Amazon US requires converter because electricity there is 110V?

    • -1

All dyson products are all made in US, normally its multi voltage input (ie. 110-220v) so all you need is a plug converter ($2 on ebay)

This deal in UK appliance, so a plug converter is all you need.

      • +1

Dyson vacs are made in Malaysia.

    • +1

UK to Aus adaptor which you can get from DSE/Tandy/Jaycar/Bunnings/Dx etc.

Voltage is fine, just the pins on the power plug don't fit into our power points.

OP - please convert the title (price) to AUD - looks bit odd seeing £ in title

    Total: £264.25= AUD400.39

    • We got one last time and it came to $422

  • it may be cheaper with 10% off the Harrods Sale this weekend, stacking the 10% rewards member plus the sale meaning potentially 20% off

    • The 10% off is the weekend sale for rewards members, not two different promotions. So only 10% off.

    • I thought the %10 off was the sale, the rewards card was what got you the 10% on this weekend (17th - 20th)
      Its the 17th there now.

      • 10% off sale for rewards card customers. It forces people to sign up to the rewards card online and in store.

    • +1

10% off for in shop customers at the weekend. Rewards customers start on Thu 9am and midnight UK time online (or 11am AUS time on 17th). I posted this after the price changed at 11am with the additional 10%.

The DC39 animal is out of stock, but the multi-floor is still available.

      http://www.harrods.com/product/multi-floor-complete-hoover/d…

If you are after the DC39 animal, you want to try at 11am every morning - I think they add stock at midnight from what I have observed (sorry if they didn't)

      • I agree, I was just saying there isn't 20% off, it's all one promotion.

  • I was watching this from the other thread and have ordered.
Lets see if the out of stock email arrives when they wake up.

no converter needed just a UK plug adaptor thing.

  • out of stock

    • True, maybe I got the last.

    • Oh No!! I hesitated for too long :( missed my boat!

      • Yamada - you want to try at 11am tomorrow or the day after on the same link..

  • +1

I spoke them last night and its out of stock. The operator stated the site wasn't live

  • Isn't it cheaper to buy direct from dyson UK and have it shipped through a UK to AUS shipper?

    • if you can get one shipped for less than £4.25 then i think you should post that here… The Dyson UK store is £259.99

  • +1

I would remind everyone that the multi-floor listed on Harrods is a DC38 not a DC39. The Animal is DC39.

  • The product has now disappeared… hopefully we will see it again tomorrow…

  • Copy pasting from this this thread

"Just got a call from Harrods saying that the DC39 is back in stock. However I can't seem to see it on the website at the moment (20:50 EST)

Also had a quote from John Lewis for a little bit cheaper but want to make sure it's valid before I post/purchase.

In any case, I'll update when I get a reply from John Lewis and if the Harrods website decides to show stock again."

  • ITS BACK!!!! SWARM SWARM SWARM!!!

  • Harrods say they will fix the DC 38 listing to mention its model # by the end of the week.

As for John Lewis I got quoted this:

Dyson DC39 Animal Complete Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner Product code - 85562213

    Total Value of Goods: £249.99
    VAT Refund: £41.67
    Postage: £103.60
(via UPS, trackable to final delivery destination)
Total for goods and delivery: £353.59
Total for goods and delivery (Minus VAT): £311.92

Please allow 14 to 21 clear working days for delivery ( subject to stock availability ) as the goods need to be fully export packed.

Please note that the price of goods quoted above will be held for 7 days. Unfortunately clearance and special purchase items cannot be reserve without the full payment.

    (edit) text

    • They quoted me £145.00 for postage.

Did you give them any more information about the destination location other than "Australia"? that's all I gave so I'm curious as to why there is a 40 pound difference.

      • No I just asked how much cartage is to Australia. Either way their prices are more expensive than Harrods. Might have to look into an onforwarding service UK to AUS.

I think Harrods are using the DC 39 Animal as a kind of bait and switch to clear stock of the DC 38.

        • I don't think they're doing bait and switch. Harrods isn't a massive chain and they've even said their stockholdings aren't live. People got DC39 Animals a few weeks ago and others didn't. Most got their orders cancelled by the sounds of things.

    • I got the following postage information from JL.
      Postage for one DC39 vacuum - £103.30
      Postage for two DC39 vacuum - £169.13
      Postage for three DC39 vacuum - £232.23

      VAT refund of 16.66%

Do we open a thread asking for people who want to do a group buy?

Harrods have removed both the DC 38 and DC 39 Animal from their website.

        • I think it's a great idea. do it by city and check with harrod if they can offer better pricing.

  • re JL, £112.48 quoted shipping DC39 to Melb

  • my order status has progressed to "DeliveryCreated" maybe i got lucky…

    • Probably should log in and check mine.

  • +1

My order had progressed to GoodsIssue so I emailed them for a tracking number, they advised it had shipped and provided DHL tracking. The tracking shows mine shipped on the 18th.

    • Good to know cos mine has been saying the same thing for a few days now.

    • Lucky you. I justgot an email stating it is out of stock. Anyone interested in ordering via JL (melb)

      • just got the "due to unprecedented demand this product is unavailable" email….

crap… just when i bought an adapter too… grr

EDIT: It seems the vacuum cleaner section has disappeared altogether…

        • yeah all vacuums sold out and they say to ring the store for more info regarding stock. doubt i'd get an answer out of them. im considering ordering from an ebay seller don mega with 5 year warranty for ~$600.

        • I contacted store yesterday and they have stock but the shipping quoted is 125 Pounds compared to 25 via website.

        • so that sounds like there is stock… but they might be losing money via normal freight channels if the usual 25pound fee is applied… grr

    • Just got an email from them saying mine shipped on the 22nd (ordered on the 17th but they got shipping info on the 18th) and has DHL tracking.

      • gg long weekend and DHL handing package over to Austpost for delivery, should have been here Friday 25th.
Its been "in transit" from the depot down the road since 6am Friday.

  • +1

just a heads up… i contacted customer support and got one. i had the initial order cancelled due to out of stock, but i emailed them after someone else said they had stock. got the same price as the special 10% off rewards weekend. and postage was still 25pounds.

    cheers

  • After taking just a few days to get from the UK to Melb, Auspost managed to take 5 days to deliver it 10km from their depot.

Anyway its here now and what a fantastic machine it is, I cant believe how much more it is sucking up that the old vac missed.
Should have bought one of these years ago.

    • cool. mine just arrived into adelaide. now waiting for it to be delivered.
