[PC, PS5, XSX] Monster Hunter Wilds $47 + $5.95 Delivery ($0 C&C / in-Store) @ EB Games

720

Mate bought this and so I started looking around for a good price and got lucky.

Here's the general EB Games search for the game: https://www.ebgames.com.au/search?q=Monster%20Hunter%20Wilds

All versions of the game is $47. The game is a good investment, since Capcom will probably do what they did with World and release more updates in time. Master Rank will be a separate thing, but the DLC until then will be free. This is probably the price until EOFY, dunno. Might even be able to price match with other stores like JB Hi-Fi.

I spoke to someone at EB Games and apparently the PC steelbook is a steam code. They also said there are roughly 70 left around all their stores (just the PC copy I think).

Hope I did everything right! This is my first post.

Recent reviews are overwhemlingly negative. I think there was a PC patch or something that has butchered the game

Thanks for bringing this up. It's because there's not much content, and it's badly optimised, but that's why I said it's more of an investment. Once capcom fixes the issues, and adds more content, it'll be a pretty good game. They're adding free DLC as time goes on, but they really should focus on optimising it more.

I don't know about PS5 or XSX, but it might play alright on console so it's still a good price. It's even a good price for PC, it just needs to get more patches for now.

I'd recommend making sure your rig can handle the game first, use their free benchmark tool to check if it'll play well.

Save your money. Investing in a c class coupe will no doubt return higher yields

The steel pc version is just a steam code I bought it from jb hifi when it came out

Thanks OP. I've been waiting for this to go on sale on Steam.

    • Played about 2 hours now and performance is better than I was expecting. Getting a solid 60 on a 5700x3D and 3070 on medium settings at 1440p.

I was thinking I'd have to upgrade to that 5070ti deal posted today.

Solid price, especially now as the game is almost at the point it should've been at release.

As mentioned above the Steam reviews are scathing because of lack of initial content and also very poor performance. However played at launch on PS5 and it's been smooth on there.

    Great first post. Cheers!

I bought PC Wilds and Stalker steelbooks for $47 each. I'm in Sydney but they're coming from NT. That's a long drive to C&C.

  • Nice to see the game price drop.

Not buying it personally but good nonetheless

  • how does it work buying the PC version for EB? i can't remember last time i purchased a PC game from a storefront.

Am i able to redeem it within steam? or will it become it's own standalone install?

    • Comments above say it's a Steam code.

    • It’s a code inside a box

Damn I probably paid close to double this at launch ooof.

    • same

    • Bought mine back in April for $58 and still haven‘t played it. Spewing.

      Damn simple economics oof

Buy the PS5 version and the PC steel book, sell the PC code, now you have the steel book edition with physical media. Why can't we have best of both worlds?

    • How much are you selling your Steam code for?

    • Got the PC version for the steel book! Already got the PS5 version and will be flipping the PC code and keep the steel book!

The game engine is not fit for purpose to run on the PC. So if you really like the franchise, I think you should invest in the PS5 version instead.

Capcom have a vested interest in ensuring the PS5 engine performs well - they don't really care much for the PC market being a Japanese developer.

The Steam player count has fallen from a peak of 1.3 million to under 6000.

  • not trying to bitch here but it messed up my gpu - last patch made the performance so under optimised

  • Delivery for me for both City and Inner west was $9.95

Love this franchise and I was looking for a sale before I bought in, hopefully it will eventually run well on PC and Steamdeck.

    • lol I'd have a read of some reviews before loading it up on your steam deck

      • Yeah I know its horrendous right now, but I hope eventually it'll be okay!

  • The Steam key may be activation locked to Australia, HK, Macau, Taiwan, NZ, Singapore and South Korea. (As far as I can tell)

You know, if you were thinking about moving suddenly.

    • Thinking about moving to GLOBAL as I hear you get good prices there

  • If someone bought the pc version for the steel book, DM me and I'll happily buy the steam code.

  • I love MH but I don't see them fixing the performance issues tbh.

Same…. it's got promise but they need to fix performance
so sick of companies rushing releases and putting out unfinished games

  • If buying for PC, HODL for summer steam sale

  • $15 delivery wtf?

    PC Version Sydney

    • Not available for delivery to my area now too, even if you are willing to pay $15 for the delivery lol.

    • It's free delivery if you have plus from ebay
