My thoughts exactly. Reporting directly to the production team, we need a model specifically for sleepers that perfer a firm mattress.

Onebed Essential, if you take the cover off, and flip the mattress, it will be ultra-firm - but I hear you, we need a model specifically designed for firm sleepers.

      • Can gen3 becomes firm as well by flipping ?

    • I love a very firm mattress and I bought this 6 months ago https://lifely.com.au/products/deep-dream-super-firm-mattres…

It is very firm, has some edge support, still 100% happy with it.

  • +1

I bought a mattress and felt that their mattress was too soft, specially on the edges. It maybe my preference but I generally havent liked mattress in a box.

It was really easy to however return it. Excellent job by onebed to come and swiftly pick it up after I tried it for a few weeks.

    • Really appreciate the feedback @ar7ist — sorry the mattress wasn’t right for you, but glad we could organise a swift pickup and issue a full refund.

We know edge support matters to a lot of people, which is why we added it to our new Original Gen3 model. We’re always listening and refining based on your feedback.

    • do you remember which mattress you got? Onebed Original 10"?

  • Having a hard time deciding between Onebed, Origin and Zinus, anyone have any opinion on this matter please?

    • onebed is excellent. I personally got 2 queen mattress and going great

  • I literally bought a Koala Plus Mattress yesterday.
If this was yesterday I would tend to buy one of this.
Which OneBed would be more match to the Koala Plus?

I am a very hot sleeper and like med-firm/firmer mattresses.

    • +1

Onebed X would be the model I would reccommend. Koala also offers a return period, so if things don't work out, feel free to give us a try.

  • Hi OP
Genuine question before purchasing, I live in an apartment with lift, would they bring the mattress up to me or I have to carry it up myself?
    Cheers

    • This will depend on the carrier. Unfortunately, without your postcode, I can't provide the information.

If you e-mail [email protected] and provide your delivery address, they can give you more information. We use a few different courier companies, and only some can provide a service where they enter the building.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • +1

I own an OneBed X and don’t recommend it if you want a firm mattress. You also sink if you sit on the edges.

  • really good mattress. I got 2 queen size ones and been doing great since the last few years. firm and good support

    • Hey mate, did you get the Onebed original?

      • Yup

  • Genuine question. What do you do with the returned mattresses?

    • +2

We donate them to the Salvation Army.

      • Thank you for replying. That's great to hear :) Good cause.

  • Thank you, ordered one. I will report back here.

  • Wow. Great work rep - you’re one of the more informative, patient and service-focused we’ve got on OzBargain.

I bought a OneBed after the first deal was posted here ten years ago. It’s been great for the price and your helpful and responsive posts have me contemplating the Gen3 - which sounds to appear on the one weakness of the original - lack of edge support. Many thanks for the info and deals.

  • Hi mate
Is it possible to order one now ( pay now) and do delivery after 18th july.

If yes, what would be the process?

  • +1

Is there a bed base you recommend to go with this?
    Does it make much difference?

  • Questions:
What is the weight limit on the mattress and the adjustable bed?

Mr is heavy, a side sleeper and wants something medium firm, Mrs is lighter and prefers medium soft. You have two interchangeable sheets - but they are applicable to both sleepers - any suggestions for a mix and match?

Used tempurpedic 23 for 10+ years and now the thing just envelops the body instead of supporting it - terrible upper back pains. Recommendations for a side sleeper please.

    • Our adjustable bed is rated to 300kg.

I’d recommend trying the Onebed X. While it doesn’t have different firmness levels on each side, it might be the perfect middle ground based on your needs — it’s quite firm overall, but the plush top layer adds just enough softness to suit partners with different preferences.

Underneath, it’s built with medium-firm, high-density layers for strong support and long-term durability.

Unfortunately, our Onebed Modular is currently out of stock, so none of our available models offer the "half and half" firmness option right now.

    • what's a tempurpedic 23 made out of? How you described what happened to it after 10+ years sounds like what happened to me in less than 5 years for this type of mattress. I'd stay clear of memory foam mattress. I've had better experience with Sleeping Giant spring mattress. Best to try instore before you buy. It will be a hassle of you end up not liking Onebed or any mattress with a try at home thing.

      https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/b2634e80-f79a-4660-…

      • I know - and the warranty process is useless - because the mattress isn't bowing or shrinking - but its not supporting the body any more.

Its made of memory foam? 23 I think is the thickness of the foam. I have never used a spring mattress - always thought the huge body weight is going to surpass all the foam and I will have springs sticking into me. I will give that a go - I was also impressed with a sealy Posturepedic when I tried it recently

        • I'm pretty happy with Sleeping giant Art&Science Balmoral. Paid a bit extra for extra firmness. They're on sale now too.

  • How would this rank against in comparison to Emma mattress or Sleeping duck mattress or Koala?

  • So…
    * Original - general option
    * Essential - for ultra firmness
    * Original Gen 3 - edge support & feeling fancy

What about Onebed X 12" and Onebed Modular 12''?

    Cheers

    • The Onebed Modular is actually out of stock - the site just hasn’t been updated yet. You won’t be able to check out even if you add it to your cart.

If you're looking for a balanced feel, the Onebed X is our “Goldilocks” mattress. It’s a hybrid with a 5-zone pocket spring system, designed to suit what most people prefer - a true medium-firm feel. It’s not adjustable like our Original models, but it offers:

      • A thicker, more substantial build
      • A springy, breathable top layer
      • Charcoal-infused foam for moisture wicking and odour control
      • Excellent support across all sleeping positions

It’s a solid all-rounder if you want comfort, support, and longevity in one. It's also our highest-rated mattress on with a 4.8/5 star rating on ProductReview.com.au. Some people just don’t like all-foam mattresses - so this is our go-to hybrid option with pocket springs.

  • How does this compare with Tempur-pedic?

Not price wise, feel wise and comfort, etc.

    Thanks.

  • Anyone else having issues paying with PayPal. Last screen just stuck in a loop?

    • Were you able to get this resolved? We haven't had any other complaints about this issue, so please let me know if you're still experiencing difficulty.

  • +2

who has ever purchased at full price?
15 years warranty….. good luck claiming as this would not entice for warranty as the bed needs to get out of shape by 5 cms.
So basically, this being foam, will become soggy in 2-6 months to the point that u sit/sleep and be uncomfortable all along. But the moment u get up, this retains shape, making you ineligible for warranty.

    They are unreliable like anything.

Not negging this as I have previously negged their deal but making fellow bargainers aware of what to expect. They are dodgy.

    • "Foam" doesn’t tell you anything, it's just that the market is flooded with bad mattresses that use bad foam.

But yeah the warranty is useless.

  • Any split kings?

  • +23

This is a joke. I have this mattress. It was GREAT for first few months.. i weigh approx 70kg and i have a dip in my sleeping area. My wife has the same issue and she weighs less. The support team wants to see photos of the issue… but the dip is only noticeable when you sleep on it so i can't prove it. Buyers, i have warned you here.

Also their live chat doesn't work. Try it, you'll see what i mean. Support is only good when you buy it. Then they disappear. I had to contact them through product reviews to get a response. Worst purchase I've made in my life. (Not exaggerating)

      • +2

I had an ensemble bed base because when i was researching, i concluded these were the best for support. After the dipping happened, i decided to get a new sold timber frame with solid wooden slats because i thought i might help. It didnt. But at least the frame looks better now

        • -1

Why didn’t you return it during the trial period?

        • +3

I've somewhat of the same experience.

          1. don't get FOMO'd. These things are often on sale.
          2. The configurable firmness is next to useless. I found the default config the best but even then you'll sink if you don't move much while sleeping. You'll also sink faster when sitting instead of lying down.

          my review of it:
          https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/b2634e80-f79a-4660-…

          • @mbcd: EOFY sale runs all year round, its always a closing down sale 🤣

      • Amazing. Thanks for linking this.

    • +5

I hear you loud and clear. Your mattress was clearly defective, and that’s not okay. This isn’t a typical experience - you’ll see plenty of comments in this thread from customers who’ve had their Onebed for years and are still sleeping comfortably.

If you’re open to it, please DM me your order number. I’ll personally go through the full email thread, review how everything was handled, and speak directly with the support agent involved.

I understand that trust might already be broken, and you may not even be interested in a resolution - but I’d still really like the chance to turn this around if you’ll let me.

Even if I can’t undo what’s happened, I’d rather you not walk away feeling like this was the worst purchase you’ve ever made. I’m not asking you to take your post down or change anything you’ve said - just for a chance to make things right.

      • +1

I will DM you. So after searching onebed in my email, my memory has been refreshed. My mattress topper when i first received it, was too small for the mattress and made it soft, but felt okay after it was replaced. But the condition for getting the new topper was i would forfeit the trial which i didn't mind as i really liked it at the time.

After a few months, i tried calling the phone number out of frustration and the line didn't reach anyone. Then i tried livechat and had an "active" session for a few months requesting updates but it was just not happening. I wasn't happy as i made calls before my purchase and I spoke to staff that made me decide to get it
So i think i was just annoyed one day and i went on product review to talk about the product as that's how i made a decision initially and felt my review needed to be made.
I got an email from support with support documents requesting for like 6 different photos showing sign of sagging.

I unzipped everything, took photos and realised i couldn't get it to show the sagging as it was just very soft where our profile are. So i never replied.

To be honest, we just dealt with it as we felt it is a waste of money for the $695 we paid in Dec 2022. I even left postive comments on ozbargain saying it was great a few months later after having it.

        • "condition for getting the new topper was i would forfeit the trial"

Why would you need to forfeit the trial if the topper being too small was not your fault?

    • Yeh, I tried the chat but no one answer it

Thanks for reaching out! Connecting you with a team member now. Hang tight—they’ll be with you shortly!

  • Where is the mattress made in?

  • Where can you order the bed frame combo in the photos? I can't seem to find it on the website.

    • Out of stock until September 😭

  • Sorry, our courier is unable to ship to WA, 6210. Please choose an address closer to Perth, WA, 6000.
    We are far from rural.

    • Blessing in disguise

  • Any good discount on mattress base? I am after king single, double and queen base.

  • +1

I bought a Onebed king size mattress back in 2017 for $575 (currently lying on it!) and have absolutely loved it ever since. In fact, I liked it so much I ended up buying another one, a queen size this time, for the spare bedroom, which cost me $682.

I’m no expert, but in my experience these mattresses offer excellent value for money, especially when you can grab them on special.

The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the foundation bed frame. It’s quite wobbly, even with the headboard screwed in. I was disappointed with that purchase, there’s no 125-night guarantee on frames, so I had to keep it, but I’ll be looking to replace it later this year.

  • +2

How does this compare to a mattress from a good brand like Sealy, which is $649 for a queen size?

    https://www.snooze.com.au/products/sealy-back-support-harmon…

    • +1

If you get this, you might end up shopping for a replacement in less than 5 years. I'd go for a proper spring mattress around $1k sale price; a really good one would last you more than a decade which ends up being cheaper. Best is to really try before you buy.

      https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/b2634e80-f79a-4660-…

  • Too bad only queen and king left. Was looking for 2x double

  • Not free delivery. They tried hitting me up for extra money after I had already paid. Never buying a bed from these guys.

    • Interesting - which state?

    • +1

If you're located in a rural area, you're notified at checkout and asked to tick a box confirming you'll receive a shipping quote later.

If you missed this, or if that message didn’t appear for you, that’s a mistake on our end. We always issue immediate refunds in such cases, but I’m not across your specific order. Please DM me your order number so I can look into it.

If you weren’t shown the checkbox, or if there was any delay with your refund, please send me your order number - I’ll organise a free set of sheets or a free pillow for the trouble.

This is absolutely not standard and should never happen. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

    Having had a few …
koala, ergoflex, zinus, sleeping duck. I will rank them from best to worse
    1) sleeping duck
    2) ergoflex
    3) koala with a topper to firm it up
    4) zinus too soft

I need a spare one for the guest room but not a priority. Hopefully still available and op/seller seems to provide great customer service here so would have loved to try it out.

  • +1

Two main issues on the mattress based on the comments are:
    - too soft
    - foam dips

Going forward please report your weight as you might be too heavy for the foam. You will also need to factor in your partners weight into the equation.

You should also be rotating your mattress every fortnight to even out the wear on the mattress.

For example, my partner weighs like a baby whale so they now sleep on a separate bed so that solved my problem

    • +1

So true, not fat shaming. But if you are fat. All mattress will sag.

  • My partner was mentioning a Koala.
This the same type of thing?

We currently have a chiropractic spring matress (Sleep maker maybe).. Sagged and edges are rubbish. Partner weighs 45kg and it still sagged.

I really miss having the ability to turn my head when driving (neck is shot).

How long will this last before it too becomes a sagging neck killer?

    • Yes the same - all mattress in a box sellers have the same business model now and similar product. Koala, at least the one I had, was one firmness. The OneBed you can flip the layers to get various firmness settings so you have a better chance of finding a good fit.

My one is only a month old so not sure how it will go, but my IKEA foam pillow was hurting my neck, went back to my worn out old down pillow and it’s all good now.

  • Was looking at upgrading my 4 year old koala as it gives me back pain
Will see how this one goes!!

    • +1

Awesome, please make sure to let us know how it compares. Remember, if you're not satisfied for any reason, you have 125-nights to contact us for a free pickup, and full refund.

      • Will do, thanks!

  • Why no superking sized mattress is available?

    • We’re currently looking at adding a Super King to our range. The challenge is that with the high-density foam we use, anything larger than a King can be tricky — some couriers won’t handle the size and weight.

That said, we’re actively working with a logistics partner to find a solution that works, without compromising on quality. Stay tuned!

  • Wondering if time to ditch the king size Zzz Atelier..

  • Has anyone ever upgraded from queen to a king? I'm 188cm tall, usually find myself sleeping crooked on the bed.
Is it worth losing the extra space in my small apartment bedroom?

    • There's no height difference between the two but the width is better. If you share the bed it's a worthwhile upgrade, if you don't, you may want to look at California King or Super King sizes which are taller.

  • @onebedmattress I bought king Original mattress. What type of bed/base is recommended for it please?

  • +1

@onebedmattress have purchased the queen original. like many others, wondering of both a recommended/budget base for this type of mattress? cheers

  • Thank you! Just purchased a king size one. I happened to be in the market for a new mattress (separation time!) and the $540 price was just too attractive to pass. It might not be as nice as the $1k+ ones, but I'm sure those aren't 50% nicer either. Looking forward to many great sleeps on it :)

Decent $27 cashback via Cashrewards too :)

  • Damn, this associate is an MVP

  • +1

Why are all the recent reviews so positive?
Nothing older than the last few months. Sounds suss

    • We have recently adopted an extremely customer-first policy. In the past, we had some policies that were a little more strict, but we've relaxed those, as we are currently aiming for 100% customer satisfaction, and will accept nothing less.

I can guarantee you that there is nothing suss about our reviews. If you believe there to be anything suspicious about our reviews, you can reach out directly to ProductReview.com.au.

ProductReview.com.au actually reports anyone doing dodgey things with their reviews to the ACCC. You can read more about there here

  • How are these mattresses for heavier people? I am over 6"4' and probably heavier than most.

    • You can sleep on me ❤️

    • Over 6 foot here and no trouble, comfy. Can tune the firmness with three settings which is the winning point on these ones.

    • I generally recommend our Onebed X for heavier people. All our mattresses are designed to withstand 300kg. However, for longevity and consistency in feel, the Onebed X will last the longest for a heavier sleeper.

  • I will pass this mattress based on those reviews.

  • Hey OP, we are in the market for a new mattress, how long will you have this deal on for? :)

    • directly from description

At our current rate, Queens and Kings will likely be sold out by Sunday.

  • How does this foam bed compare to a traditional good quality innerspring?

    • It's a matter of preference between foam and innerspring mattresses. Our Onebed X has a 5-zone pocket spring system if you prefer a more traditional mattress.
