Has anyone had bad experiences recently?
Most of my orders from the last sale (a week or 2 ago) have had issues (not sent, damaged, marked as posted but never dispatched) .

    • I've only made 4 - 5 orders in the last couple of weeks. One of the orders was refunded due to a shipping issue, but was able to re-order straight away and now its on its way to me. The order was just a kids hoodie.

    • Yep damaged for me

    • Yep, over 2 months wait

      Never had an issue before

      • +1

Yeah used Aliexpress for over 10 years, had bad issues with iMile couriers recently

        • imile provided proof of delivery for my latest package, only problem its not my house number, my house or even my city. it's nearly 200km away.

          They are "looking into it".

        • i have video of my package being lobbed 8m thru the air

    • Yeah Ali's current courier is iMile, and I've had terrible experiences. The courier held my package for weeks and then they stole my package and repackaged it with random stuff.

      • +5

Yeah Ali's current courier is iMile,

Depending on where you live* For me it's Auspost.

        • That also goes for the iMile contractors. Had them deliver several times in the past without issue (but not for a while, Auspost lately)

    • Order few small items, they packed them in a big bag, missing 1 item. Tried Imile and Aust Post and they finger point to each other. Raised with Ali and get refunded.
The other delivery, plastic tank cracked, also refunded. Oh dear.

    • None of my orders have arrived yet, but a few should this week so will report then.

I've just had a problem with the 10% OzBargain teams cashback. It was all sitting there "pending" then once items were shipped the majority of the cashback credits disappeared and not showing at all in the Shopping Credits section.

      • +1

That happened to my last ordered too, but I did get 10% shopping credits for all my other orders.

        • Yeah it's odd and a bit of a let down. I'm missing about 2/3's of the shopping credits I should have got (and were actually there at one point).

      • Have now received a couple parcels and everything looks fine. Even a couple in product boxes are good and were wrapped in a few layers of bubble wrap, the product boxes themselves only have a few minor dings. Nothing missing from 12 items so everything's turned up so far.

    • ordered 16 things over last 2-3 weeks, 2 never shipped and were automatically refunded. 2 went on a trip to Melbourne before Sydney, but everything has now arrived.

    • Yep. Shipment arrived and left BNE airport. Then went missing for over a month. I blew up at both the courier and AliExpress. They both were using delay tactics especially AliExpress when I called them out on their refund process as the delivery time had expired.
Magically I get a message saying it was out for delivery. Absolute shambles and would lose my mind if I was in the import game.

    • I stopped ordering from Ali because of imile, but recently gave it another go. First order took 8 days and arrived today.

Imile delivered it and left it in a sensible place. Another two orders are coming through Auspost, so it's good to see they are back to using that option at least sometimes.

Be careful with AliExpress. I tried to return a faulty product using their return label. After the item was returned to NSW (confirmed as delivered by Australia Post), I received a message saying the item had not been received, and the case was closed. I followed up and was asked to provide the return receipt, which I did, only to receive the same response again.
When I contacted customer service again, they assured me they were on my side and would help resolve the issue. They resubmitted the appeal, but once again, I received a "no refund" response.
The same resolution was repeated each time, with no proper guidance or instructions on how to actually resolve the issue. AliExpress is not trustworthy. I'm still trying to pursue the matter.
      The item cost $165.
      Does anyone have any suggestions?

      • +1

chargeback, that's your only hope at this point. I spent ages trying to get a mouse returned due to it becoming faulty within 1 year, and just got met with automated email replies again and again and again. No matter what I said. Terrible.

        • Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that. I won't use AliExpress for serious purchases again.

      • What was the product?

I've disputed a few products in the past, and have never been asked to return something (it's just not practical/worth it to the merchants for most items).

        • ive almost slways had to return - 2 phone screens back to back but I unknowing and coincidently ordered the exact same product twice (which is probably irrelevant to their not working I've since been told, but i don't understand the feedback that says they do).
The other one i can remember recently was a BT keyboard & touchpad. It arrived in pieces, they told me to just put it back together No Refund, at which point i initiatiteted a change of mind return and had to send it back to make it right. Once again, i ordered the same product from 2 different places, and wow were they different. One was clearly far better than the other in terms of physical appearance, but switched when it came down to internal tidiness and functionality,

    • Never had any issues with Aliexpress been shopping here for years anything that does come damaged or not as shown I get refunded generally 100% of the time

Some cases I order and never gets sent and gets refunded but that’s about it.

    • No issues with my orders from previous sale. Granted, only ordered 2 items, but solid sellers.

    • +1

Yes, all sales from there for me is a 50/50 on whether I actually get the good in the end.

      Sellers not responding.

      "Delivery guarantee" means nothing.

Their online chat agents treating you like some God but not actually taking action that actually changed anything.

And in the end, you've waited 3 months for nothing. Wasted.

They literally can do very little. Every time I think of their support, I picture monkeys completing shape puzzles for banana's. They can and do throw any untrained monkey into their support team, and there's only a specific set of tasks they're able to perform and no doubt the workflows and all that are sitting on a chart in front of them. I actually found a decent one after a horror story of 3mths of undeliveries, and they provided me with a little bit of insight into the system.
        '
Just imagine you've got a PC with windows installed, but it runs in Kiosk mode via Group Policy and locked down so that nothing but IE can launch, and then the only address you can navigate to is the internal support system, and once logged in you have a few buttons you can push to prompt for user input (eg. an item selector from your most recent orders) then they have what their supposed to do - Buy a bit of time because they know their logistics isn't great, but most packages to eventually arrive, so they default to stalling.

I was able to escalate on that single occasion, but I clearly had someone with experience who was able to switch off the construct they're trained to use and say "hey this is a 1%, I can't help this person with my tools, I need to escalate". The alternative is filing a formal complaint, to which they're legally obliged to handle within 14days or something - Then you know someone who isn't operating with cruise control on has familiarised themselves with your case.

        • In the end, they are the seller, and I am the buyer, and if they cannot fulfill their obligation to provide the goods, I am unsatisfied.

They've kept on telling me that the merchant will respond within 5 days or something, on repeat for like 5 times, when I've kept telling them that there is no hope anymore and to stop wasting my time - the merchant isn't going to magically respond at this point after sleeping on it for 30 days.

Wait a minute! You're not clear! Imposter :-O

At least my inbox won't be blowing up with the usual culprits complaining that the sale advertised as "not sitewide" isn't sitewide.

  • What's the reason for USD instead of AUD? Is it a bigger discount?

    • +1

AliExpress trade in USD and that price doesn't change. Switching to AUD will fluctuate based on AliExpress' exchange rate and often it's worse than the actual Mastercard or VISA rate.

Hopefully we see some good deals on these:

    • Aoostar WTR Pro
    • soyo m4 pro N150
    • xiaoxin/lenovo tablets
    • Yes, I am keeping an eye out for the 4th gen Legion Y700. Would love to see the 16gb/512gb version for less than $700 delivered.

    • I wouldn't expect anything labeled Big Save to be included.

    • also, the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 has just been released and can be purchased for approximately. $70 with this deal through the Mijia MI Online Store.

  • Need a code “boycott” for cheap goods without warranty or quality control

Hopefully Ryzen CPUs on sale this time.

    • Found anything yet?

I found a 9900X for $376.59 USD (including tax) - but none of the coupons can apply unfortunately.

  • Have the Japanese invented that garbage disolver yet

    • We have it at home. Charity bins, one way streets and rural roads.

Ooo good reminder, I have ~$20 in credit from the EOFY sales still to use..

  • Has Cashrewards stopped working for the site? It was up fine last night.

    • Yeah seems to be offline for Aliexpress right now for some bizarre reason.

    • I’ve seen this in the past, then it magically reappears. Bit annoying given they had the highest Ali cashback 😔

  • TopCashBack USA has AliExpress at 14% cashback

    • And codes eligible for cashback?

      • Yep

        • Thanks. I used TCB US to purchase, but was in AUD and used the $30 off $259 AUD code above.. Still eligible and TCB US would use their conversion and then track the cashback in USD?

          • +1

@lilkid28: Assuming it was an affiliated product, that is what I’d expect.

I used TCB USA this morning for a purchase, using a coupon, and it tracked okay

            • @BigBirdy: Order hasn't tracked after 24 hours. I assume I'm not eligible?

It was TCB US, transaction in AUD, coupon code took $30 AUD off $259 min spend.

              • @lilkid28: Was it an affiliate item, as per the affiliate link checker? I don't usually check, but I would for an expensive item.

                https://portals.aliexpress.com/linkchecker.htm

                • @BigBirdy: Yeah its an affiliate item as per the checker. Still no tracking on TCB US. Does it usually track within 1 day?

                  • @lilkid28: I think mine tracked within an hour. That was using an iPad. I’ve also clicked thru from TCB USA to hotels.com on windows browser, but it generated cashback from Cashrewards, that was weird!

    • Can you withdraw topcashback usa to an aussie bank account?

      • Others have posted withdrawing to PayPal, which is what I intend to try once my cashback is payable. I see withdrawing to an Aussie bank as problematic (fees, rates, and TCB might reject you and keep any cashback)

  • So it looks like you can get a Retroid Pocket 5 for about US$294 (AU$294) using these codes, from the Moorechip store (I believe that is Retroids' official trader). Not bad, considering the early bird special price for these was US$199. So its cheaper than pre-order days (which was back in Sept/Oct last year).

  • So I had a code which was working, but then later for the same product, it stopped working and gave errors such as coupon is for one use only, have not met the minimum purchase amount (when i clearly had) and coupon cannot be used in conjunction with discounts. Could anyone shed some light on this please?

It was the AUCD30 code btw.
