Its nice to have a case so the drive is physically damaged less, as these are protable drives they tend to move around a bit more than desktop drives.

  • Lol, looks like something out of DealExtreme.

  • Thanks!
I've always wondered who bought these at RRP… Clearly nobody does!

  • nice find! Thanks :)

  • Nice!

  • $2 dollars is a good find, even if its hot pink i will still find a use for it ! maybe for the wife to put her cosmetics ?

OW product code is SYWDPPCCBK…which most likely means WD PassPort Carry Case Black.

doh, and i thought i had my valentine gift sorted ! oh well more ozbargain junk for me :0)

    • wait, i'm getting de ja vu, hot pink, dirt cheap, can it be….another…[gulp]…price error like this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89995 !?! nah OW seem to avoid pricing errors mostly, but still have the equally annoying 'out-of-stock' error…

  • Can my portable seagate drive fit into this ?

  • Thanks OP - Just got one for the missus who travels with her HD a lot. ;-D

    • Hi Winston1, can you tell us if it is a hard case or a soft neoprene type?

      Thank you.

      • given it's online to store delivery for store pickup, he doesn't have actually have it yet.

  • It's probably like this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/WD-WDBABK0000NBK-WRSN-Passport-Carryin…

not really a protective case, more like protecting the drive from scratches only, soft thin fabric that's all … Cheap but not doing much.

  • I think it's out of stock now!

  • out of stock in vic :(

  • Noooooooooo

  • Yep, out of stock in vic

  • Thought that's a HD case, but then realise it's a case for HD case.

  • out of stock online it says

  • It still has stock in Canberra

  • Still showing stock in WA, but when I go to complete the transaction I get an error saying it can't be back-ordered.

Same to me. Why don't they change the status to out of stock on the website

  • I saw some today, I think they're mainly neoprene. Doesn't offer much drop protection, but good if you didn't want to just check a bare external drive into a bag.

You gotta reach the very final stage with PayPal to discover whether it's in stock at a particular store. Poor stuff OW!!

  • Tried Sydney Pitt St one. Out of stock. Annoying that it doesn't tell you until you checkout.

  • Aaaaaaaaand it's gone.

  • Not that this is of any use to anyone, but picked mine up today. It's not neoprene, it's that relatively stiff (compared to neoprene, not really very hard) fake leather plastic sort of material. It's like the one in the gumtree ad, except the metal logo is slightly different, and at the centre top.

Pretty happy with it for $2 as an ipod/amp/iem case!
