  • Any business class deals?

    • Business class prices are around $8000. Here is Sydney to Madrid for $7835

Turkish goes to Jakarta which is great for a mixed flight home - Jak to Syd is an easy 7 hours. Recently I did Lon - Ist - Jak with Turkish business and the final Jak - Syd hop home (after a quick couple of "recovery / prepare" nights in Jak) on Qantas economy and it was I think well under $3K total.

      • Sounds like a great deal. What month of the year did you fly?

Can you please show business class prices for a comparison. Thanks.

  • Damn the school holidays tax is real. Paid $2500 for flights to Barcelona for APR26 via Emirates.

  • Would it be possible to visit IST for a few days during one of the lags?

  • DYOR on seat selection. I've heard Turkish make it all but impossible to select seats without paying.

All reports are that the catering is excellent.

Nice if you are on a new A350

A lot of the intra Europe legs are on a 737max … cross your fingers.

    • yes, I couldn't believe how much extra they wanted for standard seats- I think it was around $130 each, each way. I just took the risk, and thankfully my family of 5 were all seated together

  • What happened to Bali?!

    Persuadeable city mayors fly free

  • Bilbao gaggins?

  • This is just plain irresponsible. Spain does not want tourists.

    • +1

I suspect that some places would like tourists to supplement the local economy. They also might like tourists staying in hotels in the off season when the place isn’t crowded out. We went to several places in Spain in 2019 and we weren’t harassed by anyone. Once you get out of the tourist hubs the locals are very happy to get your tourist dollars. The real problem is places like AirBnB take long term rental places off the market in places like Madrid and Barcelona.

      • Where did you go?

        • +1

Minorca, Cobisa, Ronda. We did several places in Portugal as part of the same trip. We did do Madrid and Barcelona without being harassed either. Someone did steal my purse in Barcelona but it didn’t have any money so they dumped it. One of the locals came over and showed me where it was.
