Get JB to price match Appliance Central lol
    https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/65c8k-tcl-65-inch-premiu…

$1580 (free delivery to selected cities)

    • Is applicancecentral legit? Why cant we order from them?

      • Appliance Central is legit. Many deals have been posted on OzBargain before too

      • My first time ordering from these guys and all seems good so far. Ordered Thursday night, shipped Friday and should be delivered Monday.

  • Last deal some successfully price matched, with JB Perks and get it under $1200

    • Wow JB perks is the 200 voucher code?

      • +3

        15% off

        • Seems like 22nd June was the last date for that perks coupon. Or that's what I see as I tried a few and nothing worked for me. Cart says this coupon expired

          • +1

@dealt: Yes, I came to 3 different stores and no-one was able to match that 15% perk deal. They said that's even better than staff deal. 😅

            • @Curtinboy: Unfortunately that was a short-lived glitch :(
They fixed the double stacking of 15% perks voucher for the price-matched price by the time I tried to get the deal. Great for those who got it!
This in 75" would have been $2,018.75 + $59 delivery
Now looking at $2,111.85 via Retravision price matching Good Guys plus RAC 5% discount + $55 delivery

  • 83" Samsung S90D OLED for $3999 on EPP. What's a better buy? The TCL or the OLED?

    • +4

      C8K 85 if < $3000

      • +2

agree, I paid $3200 just a few weeks ago, on day 5 right now of it being here and installed. It really is incredible value and living on a balcony the brightness is more important than having the OLED imo, but I already bought it so of course ill say that. Its a great TV though and I spent a lot of time comparing against the Sony/Samsung OLEDs in store

    • +4

      OLED > Mini LED

      • +5

For quality yes, but in bright rooms no. You can’t compare a G5 with a TCL mini led.

      • +5

I honestly don't notice the difference in blacks much with a c855 (previous model that this replaces) VS a C3 oled. I wouldn't pay the extra for the oled now.

    • -4

You're comparing Apples with Oranges. Why on earth would anyone buy this over an 83" WOLED?

      • +8

        Bright room likely

      • +6

        Because this one won’t get burn-in 💀

          • +6

@Maths Debater: After spending like $4000 for an LG B6 that now has massive burn in (and yellows now look green) as much as I love OLED I'm going to be seriously considering non-OLED alternatives in future. The nature of OLED tech is that it will degrade over time, granted I'd expect burn in is better handled nowadays vs my older OLED.

      • +2

        Because of the $800 difference.

    • +1

I've been using S95B for the last 2.5 years. In a bright room, OLEDs struggle, especially with SDR content. Newer models would be better, but I need a big size TV in my rumpus upstairs, which has direct sunlight throughout the day. Hence, the inclination towards TCL.

  • Should i swap out my LG C7? :3

      • +6

That’s because you’ve never seen a high end Mini LED 😹

          • @Maths Debater: Well an OLED with burn in could well look worse, also people might have use cases requiring HDMI 2.1, 144hz refresh rate, VRR etc.

          • +4

@Maths Debater: I think people might be taking issue with the fact that picture quality is only one small factor when looking at OLED vs Mini LED. With Mini LED you can get a very good picture, bigger screen size and brighter screen, for much much less than OLED. FWIW, I agree with you, newer OLEDs will look better every time. But the gap is certainly closing each year.

  • This or Samsung 65" S85F WOLED 4K Smart AI TV (2025) $1979.40 Delivered (Excl. TAS, NT) @ Samsung EPP (I assume this deal would come back more often)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910671

  • As long as you have never seen an OLED TV, this TV is amazing.

    • +6

I’ve got LG C1 and this tv in the 85”. I’d still be happy with this and extra money in my pocket imho.

      • -2

        Stop downloading 1080P 4GB Linux Distro's

        • It’s Stremio 4K DV for me. Maybe it’s my untrained eye.

          • +1

@NachoCheese: It's not just you. Qd mini led have gotten so close in contrast that you need to pixel peep to find it. It's very similar to how diminishing return of 144hz vs 240hz, or 4k to 8k. You can tell there's a difference if you put it side by side and find the correct condition for it. But for your usual movies, it ain't going to matter.

    • +1

Agree, i have a 48” LG CX oled and just got a 65” C7K, while the size difference is impressive, the blacks im used to cannot be found on the C7K.

As others have said, the price difference quite a bit so it can be justified.

  • +1

Just ordered one at JB Macquarie, price-matched with Appliance Central, got the 75" delivered + wall mounted (existing bracket) for $2.4k ($2.1 without the mounting)

Seems like a good price, the TV looked great instore and I'm upgrading from a 2018 65" entry level Samsung with like 6 local dimming zones so I'm happy.

Probably could have haggled more / used gift cards but I needed to get back to work!

    • Any chance you could share the receipt for price match purpose? Thank you

    • +1

I dont have a view either way as I haven't researched either to have an informed view but being a tool isn't a positive way to get a point across and is likely why everyone is negging your comments - provide evidence if people dont believe the information you provide then just walk away and enjoy the rest of your day.

        • +1

          You’re funny brah.

  • Lg qned86a 100" or TCL C8K 98" $500 different, which one is bester??

    • +2

C8k is wayyyyy better than LG qned86a line

  • I'm very close to biting the bullet and replacing my 55 inch 2019 Samsung with this. What I have read is TCL don't last very long, can anyone shed light on this? Also does anyone have any experience gaming on these?

    • Gaming on the C745 55" is great on a ps5. Variable refresh rate with fast-paced action is smooth enough (compared to my 165hz computer monitor, it's just as good except a lower refresh rate). Just make sure you set the every-day function NOT on energy saving mode, as there's a noticeable difference in viewing quality for fast scenes.

Obviously the C8K is 3 steps up in technology so I'd say it's going to be just as good as my experience

  • +1

Waiting for the sub $3K 85" C8K although with my dark room an OLED is always a temptation.

    • I think some lucky people got it below $3000 a couple of weeks ago with the JB deal + price matching.

  • Bit the bullet and got it. Thanks original poster 👍. Also if you put it on interest free at Harvey Norman you'll get a gift card for every $1000 spent.

    • Congrats! How much is the Harvey Norman gift card for every $1,000 spent?
Edit: looks like it is $100 gift card per $1,000 spent

      • Yep that's correct.

  • +1

Any recommendations for display calibration or other settings?

  • +3

This is a great tv, got it on the previous deal with stack coupon but annoyed this deal is cheaper without it. One thing to note is it only has optical audio out. looks amazing for ps5 gaming and also great to sue as pc monitor as it won't burn in like OLED.

    • +1

Can you elaborate on the optical out only? I think most people use eARC with their soundbars for a more seamless experience with better audio?

      • They used to have 3.5mm aux, but it was removed in 2025. Hence, only optical out now. I had to buy a DAC to connect my speakers to the tv.

  • Just confirming this is using google tv and not webos?

    • +1

Yes, it's Google tv. Webos is for LG.

  • This or the C7K?

    • +1

This 100%. You can go in store and see the difference. On par or even better than Sony Bravia 9 which is a lot more expensive

      • +1

Thanks, think im gonna upgrade to this. My samsung is from 2018

      • JB not allowing perks code to apply for basically any model in 75" except the P7K which comes down to $1095 delivered, less if they are willing to price match Powerland… not sure I could really get much better than that

  • Thanks OP. Managed to get Harvey Norman to deliver the 75” to Sydney $2200 including delivery.

  • +1

Just got this from Good Guys, price matched with Retravision 5% off with RAC card, paid with gift cards through Bupa with a 4.5% discount, total paid $1447.06

    • Did you do the price match in-store on online? And did they say anything about the RAC being a paid membership?

I want to try to do the same at JB Hifi because it's closer for me but the JB Hifi T&C excludes "members only or subscription prices" so I'm not sure if I should go to the Good Guys instead.

      • +1

Online, they didn't even ask if I had a membership, they just said no problem and put it straight through

        • Thanks for your answer.
So you just told them the price at Retravision was $1515.25 or did you show them a screen shot of the checkout page?

          • +1

@lorikeet: I just sent them the Retravision website and asked if they could match their price with the RAC 5% discount

            • @Bakelite: Ok, I'll try to get JB Hifi to price match and if it doesn't work I'll just order from Retravision directly.

            • +1

@Bakelite: I managed to get JB Hifi to price match with the RAC discount!
I just showed the checkout page on my phone and they didn't say anything about the member discount.

And Retravision also have a "Sydney 5% Sale" discount on checkout so the price was $1439. So with $59 delivery and with 5% off gift cards the total ended up at $1423.1

  • Hi, little late to the party, can I still get this deal? Or something similar?

    Thanks
