  • This or the amazfit bip 6 or equivalent? The amazfit watches seem to get pretty good reviews for the price.

I've got a ticwatch 3 pro ultra that I bought for slightly less than this a couple of years ago.

Its still going strong and I really like it and am tempted to upgrade to this. The HR isn't that accurate and I wouldn't take it swimming, and it sounds like these have the same negatives.

Otherwise IMO its very good value otherwise as a smartwatch.

Luckily you, had it since 2023 but last week had died completely. They won't take ACCC consumer guarantee. Never washed or used in water, just died randomly and stopped charging. Used different cables, but watch won't hold power.

    • Mine has battery problems, and works on and off. Sometimes it would be stuck on 0% or 8% (still had a day left of power), forcing it into low power mode.
I liked WearOs since it had a decent app store, and custom APKs.

I eventually sacrificed that functionality and got a Redmi Watch 5 Lite for $60. I can still technically use it for homeassistant using Notify App, but never got around to it. In terms of the basics (steps, sleep tracking, run tracking without phone), it's more reliable than the Ticwatch 3 Pro GPS with stock apps, while having OLED always on display that lasts 6 days. I am now treating these watches as "disposable" since the batteries are crud after 2-3 years anyway, hence the giant price drop and expectation drop. I got the Ticwatch 3 for like $200, i realise it was on sale for like $60 (or was it $20) at end of life.

great watch, shame they stopped LTE versions now

  • The app is full of 'can't connect' reviews.
AsteroidOS doesn't look like it's ported to this yet.
    GadgetBridge doesn't do WearOS.

I almost jumped on this yesterday, but couldn't find a decent open source way to use it.
    ymmv :)

  • It's a nice watch, just coming up on 2 years with mine. A lot cheaper now,($626aud) I'd imagine there's a new model coming out.
